I got Adobe Premiere 6.5 the other day, and while I was trying it out I ran into a rather bothersome issue that I would like to try to remedy. I import a .avi into the program and than extract the clip I want from it, than insert it into the time-line.
This is where the problem comes in. I hit play to test the clip, and in the monitor window (where the clip should display, I figure) it just shows a black screen with a small 'X' in the upper left-hand corner. There isn't any audio either and it plays until the clip would be over.
I'm using DV-NTSC Real Time Preview at Standard 48 khz as my project setting...thats the only thing I can imagine having an impact on it, because I haven't messed with any other settings. The clip plays fine in the 'Clip' window (where I extract the pieces I want to use), audio and video all.
Anyone have any expertise with Adobe Premiere that they would like to share that may alleviate this issue? Any help would be awesome. :^:
