Are there replacement forums while the current ones are down? I'm out of the loop.

Its been kaput for almost a month now, i guess the host didn't want to pay the bill anymore and dropped it.

Wasn't that Niryk, or was he just the webmaster?

Temporary forums can be found at mcwaffles.com

The pa-guilds domain will be returning in the future.

Do i have to register for the temporary forums or is it just giving me a wrong password error out of spite?

Looking at the memberlist, i think reregistering might be in order. At least the temporary forums are as slow as the old ones.

These are not the same forums as the pa-guilds forums. Your pa-guilds forums login information will not work.

When the pa-guilds forums return, you will be able to use your old login information again.

The story is that a dude was hosting them for free, and he decided he didn't want to be friends anymore. He took his ball and went home. Niryk was just the webmaster.

el oh el drama ensues, and this dude is now apparently fedexing (at great personal expense, according to him? :boggle: ) the HD with the forum data to someone who will host it again.

How heavy can a HD be? or does FedEx do stuff based on distance?

He told me that he'd insured it pretty substantially, and was shipping it under whatever the "ultra fast and safe shipping method" was.

When I asked why, he implied I was retarded for thinking you could expect to ship a HD via regular UPS ground. I told him I hadn't realized he intended to pack it kit bag or something, and he didn't respond to me again.

Ha. Hard disks are probably the most resilient part of a computer. Those SOBs can take impacts upwards of 300Gs, extreme temperatures (more so on the cold end, however), and minor electrical and magnetic charges. Put it in an anti-static bag and a padded envelope and it'll be fine.
