Dvd to Zune/ipod question

Hi everyone.
I usually post in the art section, but i have a question that i'm hoping someone can help with.
Fist let me state that i searched and didn't seem to find this, but if it is in another thread i apologize.
Second let me say that i am computer retarded. I can paint and draw but when it comes to computer stuff i just don't "get it".

So my question is this.

How can i take a dvd i have and put it onto my zune or ipod? My friend at work has whole seasons of arrested development and family guy, and i would like to do the same.

I Don't mind paying for a program or something, i'm not looking to DL tons of stuff. I just want to take movies i own and get them on my zune or ipod for work/gym.

I can play dvds on my comp but can't burn dvds. I was told that wasn't a problem.

Thanks for any help given.

I have PQDVD. I haven't had a chance to use it much but it's pretty much tailored exactly for what you want to do. The link I provided is to the DVD to iPod converter software. I'm not sure if it works with Zune, but I would imagine they have a version that does (or perhaps PQDVD just works for the Zune).

If you google DVD to iPod I'm sure you will come up with some viable options, pay or otherwise.

The zune/ipod itself can't play dvds so you have to convert your DVD-movies to some other format. I found this: http://www.zunevideoconverter.com/zune_converter_guide.html

Just download the (free) program and do what the guide tells you.

Please note that I don't own a zune/ipod, so I can't really tell you how well this program works. Hope that helps you out.

i just went to download.com and did a search for "zune dvd converter" and got a buttload of software options. Download.com almost always has a freeware version for anything you search up on it, and lots of trial versions for software you can buy if you like. looking at the ratings, popularity (number of downloads) and reading the user reviews can give you an idea of what the utility is like before you use it, too. specifically : if you decide to try a free one see what people say the down sides are. i know sometimes you can pickup ad-ware shit embedded into free utilities sometimes, but what you're looking for is probably popular enough that you can get some clean, free, user-friendly options to choose from.
