jesus, what's with threads lighting the Rank signal lately?

Dude, seriously, I've been there. A lot. Way, way more than I like to think about.

Death fucking sucks. It is cold and ugly and way to real. But you'll live. Life will go on, people will move on with their lives and things will return to normal. If you're not ready for it, it still will, but it might seem offensive or cruel that other people are getting on with their lives when you're depressed, when you're focused on the fact that something, someone, is missing and will never be there again. But you can't let yourself get hung up on that shit.

You just gotta pull yourself up by your bootstraps and keep going.

My sympathies are with you. Like I said, I've been through this way too many times. Go to the funeral or remembrance ceremony if you want, focus on the good things, and move on. Don't forget, but move on.

    Yea I guess..

ٍI knew her very well. She was in my class for 5 years. (our school is small - 1 class per grade, so everyone from the same age is in the same class)
It's amazing how for 5 years I saw her everyday and it was normal and then one day, bam, she's not there anymore.

So I'm one of the lucky few whom after graduation was able to leave my shithole town's gravitational field. I keep in contact with old friends from time to time and the like, just to keep a bearing on my poor old town.

Each time I would go back home, whether it be for a quick visit, holiday, or whatnot, I always hear some disheartening news about a friend offing their self or some outrageous accident taking the lives of 3 or 4 of my old classmates. Every time I go back to that town, I get at least one of these stories.

I just don't go back home anymore.

Earlier this school year, one of our seniors was killed. They found him in the local park, with the chain from his bike wrapped around his neck.
The initial reaction was "Who the hell is he," since he transferred here in September, and died in October. The general sentiment in the school was "Who was he and what happened," as opposed to "Oh man I'm gonna miss him."

The thing is, another senior died two years ago in a car crash, and the whole school cried for a month afterwards.
When they first said "A student died last night," we were all dreading that it was someone that we knew, that it was going to be Bobby all over again.

See, this story was totally not chronological, so I was wondering how that worked at first, then I was just annoyed that you thought we knew that the car crash guy was named Bobby.

Dude, I didn't know that was his name.

Also, that is sad and unfortunate.

I think he means the experience of when Bobby died. Not that another kid named bobby managed to get killed.

Just to be honest. If a random person from my graduating class died I don't think I would really care unless they were a friend and even then all I would do is say something like "Damn now who am I going to talk to" And no I am not being insensitive and if you knew me you would understand why.

So far in my life I really haven't had to deal with death much. Except for my grandmother when I was eight years old, none of my close family members or friends have died.

Which means that I'm going to have it really rough one of these years, I assume.

A little bit of what Blip said (they're just people I went to school with, not generally my dearest friends) and also not many people have my phone number down there any more.

The community is close knit and I knew everyone at school (60 other kids graduated with me) but not so close that they want to call me over every little thing. And I'm fine with that, really.
