Nintendo Star points = Wii points (Europe)

starting from today, you can trade star points for Wii points, which you can spend on all the Virtual Console games your heart desires.

What does this mean?

You know all those little scratch cards you've been getting with your Nintendo games (i've amassed thousands worth of the points), well now rather than being able to exchange them for stupid things like ringtones or desktop backgrounds you can now exchange them for Wii points. Which means free stuff on virtual console. (assuming you've amassed enough points)

The Bad:

The Nintendo Europe website is down, meaning we can't actually do it until it comes back up.
I've no idea how many stars it is to Wii points.

The Good:

Erm, all those pointless stars now have a use! Hurrah!

EDIT: Apparently the exchange rate is 4 stars for 1 wii point.
