Ok so Im a bachalor thats been living alone for quite some time and I havent owned my own vacuum cleaner. (up till now Ive borrowed one every now and then which is getting stupid) The problem is that when I go to the store to look I have no idea how to tell the major differences between each brand/model.
I think I want a bagless system but Im not even sure on that. I have dust allergeys so is cleaning that out much more of a hassle than changing a bag would be?
Other than that I think my price range is around $100 or less, but quality is the most important. So any suggestions on a good model/brand/store to look for would be greatly appreciated as I have absolutly no clue what Im doing.

Hoovers are pretty good.
Is you have allergies, you'll want a bagged model, as the bagless look cool, but kind of a pain; I usually have to reach in and pull the stuff out of the canister.
One possible avenue of cheap vacuum-acquisition is parents. My parents ended up buying so many vacuums while I was growing up that they still had this ancient but functional Eureka thing that they didn't use anymore because they have some new thing that looks like it belongs on a spaceship.
