So, I just beat the game last night. Awesome.

I do want to discuss something though ...
I've searched the thread and haven't seen any mention of the Shadow Broker. It seems pretty obvious to me now, that Sovereign was this Shadow Broker. Am I the only one thinking this? Or is it so "duh" that everyone knows this by now.

Indeed. I was under the impression that
the Shadow Broker is an orginzation, like Cerberus. It would make more sense then it being a Reaper. I was kind of thinking a Geth hive mind of some sorts. Maybe an AI?

Yeah, the broker being an AI is highly likely I think, but the odds of him being sovereign are pretty much zero.

well officially sold over 1 million copies in 3 weeks, this sets the trilogy in stone. i just hope Microsoft can hold on to the exclusive rights, if EA tries to whore it out to the PS3 we will likely see delays as they will want to rework the first one for the PS3, and then god help us if they want to make a wii spin off.

i just want three quick games, within maybe 4 years from the launch of the first 1. all on 1 platform to ensure that we dont get delays because bioware has problems porting to the PS3 or something, which has happened in the past with other games.

    I just got the game.
    I have a simple question.

Citadel is basically Taris HD. A pre-rendered set piece city junction that acts as a hub for levels that are all homogeneous indoor rooms.
I want to know if there are any actual cities that depart from this old bioware formula.

Ahh, okay. I'm a dumbass. Or just very forgetful, I hadn't remembered the whole Tali/Barla Von thing from the beginning. I just finished the part where someone (the Prothean VI?) was describing Sovereign as being in the shadows, pulling strings, acquiring/influencing agents like Saren and the Geth, in order to build influence and mount that final attack on the Citadel. It seemed something similar to what the Shadow Broker would do.

    Forget a spin-off, I want a Wii port.

The hacking game couldn't stay exactly the same because the Wii doesn't have enough buttons, but they could replace it with a game where you point at the lit up buttons.

Also, they wouldn't have to downgrade the graphics at all. Ubisoft is porting UE3 to the Wii so they could license that and since the Wii doesn't have to render in HD, the port could look just as good as it does on the 360.

If you are talking about Neverwinter Nights, then the bitching was well deserved. The original campaign was really a piece of shit but Bioware learned it's lesson by the time they released the second expansion disc.

Or am I the only one who loved it? It could have something to do with my current mood (terrible).

I don't think anyone did things that didn't make sense. About Sovereign:
It wasn't that Shephard forgot his tape recorder, they assumed that it was lying because it was a trap by Saren. I don't think it would be all the difficult to rig up a VI to say that, especially since the payoff of distracting the Council's forces elsewhere would be huge. And Sovereign probably was lying, anyway, unless you believe that the Reapers existed from the beginning of time.

Pancake's actually right. When factor in that the Wii doesn't need to factor in AA, light bloom, particle effects, or output insane resolutions more (like 97%) of its power is dedicated to rendering grahpics. That's why a Wii port of ME would look just as good if not better than its 360 counterpart.

    I continue to suck at Mass Effect. A lot. Like;
On one of the Geth outposts in the... early-four-systems-have-outposts-in-the-same-quadrant area. On the snowy world, I keep getting utterly destroyed by the Colossus and half-dozen missile troops. The Mako's too useless to go in, and there's no good hiding or cover spots that I've found in a few tries.

Am I missing something? Too low level? Does the Mako ever get upgrades to "not useless"?

I still feel like I'm doing something very wrong.

I remember having some difficulty with that part as well.
My Mako was just about destroyed and I had to just hop out of the thing and try to find a decent position to snipe the Geth from where I wouldn't get killed inside of 10 seconds... It took a while. I might've already taken out the Colossus as well. If you're not play a class that can snipe, I'm not sure what to recommend, besides coming back after you've leveled a bit more.

Those Geth outpost quests are kind of repetitive, but you'll definitely get a lot of xp and cash out of it once you're done.
