About two days ago, I had the game freeze for around 30 seconds to a minute whilst I was changing weapons. It was actually quite funny.

Also, I'm glad you think so, I'm going for the renegade look this year.

You can still be renegade and get him.

Yeah but that's only +9 points. I wanted the full +28!

I did but I wasn't doing it for the achievement, I just wanted to be hardcore evil. Just because it fit with the character personality.... which I should add is incredibly awesome. I love how you actually feel like you have to do something a certain way because that's how the character is.

Very, I felt the entire game like I could just do what my character would do.

I've never seen any serious performance issues with the game. The only time I have problems are when I either:
    1) Try to go to the weapon/skill/main menu right as the game starts to autosave or load new data. Usually it's just a longer than usual wait, but I've had a few times where that has created some major delays before it gives me control of the game again (20+ seconds).

    2)
when exiting the rachni infested mine during the listening post quest line
my game will always chug to a grinding halt at somewhere around 5FPS or so. I have to immediately return tot he Normandy. Happens every time I've done that part so far.

Never had Mako issues. Gotten it stuck before, but all I need to do is go back to the Normandy or finish the area on foot (whichever is more practical/doable/fun/quick).

What? No, I got him in my squad and shot him at Virmire. It's not like I hadn't used him, I just didn't really need him since I was sticking with Ashley and Tali this time.

I kinda put mine down after half the pages fell out because they were never actually stapled in. See how the only time I bitch about the game is because of a mechanical fuckup? That should say how awesome it is. Kinda burned out on it now though, did two runs back to back, halfway through my third and just kinda stopped. Prolly finish it in a few months.

But man, so many of those planets I wanna go to that you can't. The gas giant with all the 'structures' way down that noones seen? Hell yes. Or the one with the volus merchant looking for artifacts with his merc army.

So I got this as a Christmas gift from my awesome girlfriend, and I'm about to dig in.

Just double-checking: there's no real way to fuck yourself over in the character choices/leveling, is there? Will being a charming biotics/engineering mix ramp up the difficulty, for example?

The only thing I would say is dont play Adept.

If you want biotic powers choose a mixed class. Its not more difficult per se just less accessible.

I played soldier first. Getting the assault Rifle unlockable for all subsequent characters makes the game much more fun and easy.

Hm. Thought as much. I was thinking about doing charm/biotics/engineering (sorry, forget the class name) one time, and another ruthless/combat run for GRAAAAAH SHEPHERD SMASH fun.

Yeah, this is my problem. However, I knew everything in this thread by my usual method: every new game mode I come across, first thing I do is save, then try every button and all possible button combos. It's how I've always gotten used to new control schemes. Of course, left trigger plus clicking the right control stick is pretty darn obscure, so I don't blame folks.

Am I the only one that figured this stuff out without looking in a manual or having been told it? It could be related to COD4 I suppose. Holding the Left trigger for sights mide and then clicking the thumbstick is second nature to me.

Man guys this thread is crawling with all kinds of unmarked spoilers watch out for that shit.

I got this game for christmas, started playing it the other day and now I'm stuck at two parts. I really only need help with this:
The side quest thing where you scan the keepers, there is one right next to an Avina and when I try to scan it it yells at me. Am i doing it wrong? Did I already scan it and haven't realized?

Then this part is just frustrating
I just saved the archaeologist girl near the beginning of the game, and now I have to fight a Krogan and a couple of geth. I get fucked up hardcore every time I try and fight them.

I've tried singling out the Krogan to my squad and as soon as he dies I get killed by all the other geth. If I let them all go weapons free the Krogan jumps in between all of us and melees us to death.

    It's infuriating really.

    For the first question:

    You already did it.

    For the second question:

Anything that disables the big yellow bastard is your friend. Lift, Neural Shock, Damping, Sabotage, etc. Do that first, then hide behind one of the buttresses and destroy the guy.

The "hold the line" speach was amazing, are there any codex entries that talk about salarian heroes like the silent shot etc? The only thing that I need help with right now is the bonus talent on my new character. I'm starting an Infilitrator on hard core mode and I was wondering if I should choose:
    -shotguns (Shotgun? Shotgun! Shotgun.)
    -lift (mediocre)
    -throw (this was pretty cool)
-warp (this wasn't very useful on my vanguard play through)
-barrier(i'm maxing out fitness and commando spec so this will probably be useless)
Also do you guys have any tips for Infiltrators in general?

EDIT: Also I have the krogan ally achievement and warrior achievement, who would be best for my next play through? I figure Liara and Kaiden but I am not sure

I dislike the Salarians. The Quarians are the only race for me. The Asari, sure, kinda -- because despite their insistance to the contrary, the rumors of the promiscuity are totally true. :winky:

Edit: only partway through Feros, though, so if there's an awesome Salarian character later, that might change my opinion. I'm mostl;y basing it on, "You will be pleased, I think, human! Good things, I have!" If I wanted Yoda, I'd play a Star Wars game.

If you're going for the Asari ally achievement, make sure you don't do anything in the citadel other than getting Wrex and Garrus as well as the Emily Wong quest. Then just shoot right through the story missions and go right to Artemis Tau as soon as you're off the Citadel to get Liara. Save yourself some time in the lnog run.
