Someone will know instantly the answer to my question but google is not proving easy for me to find it. All the references seem to be problems opening mac files on the PC version. Im going the other way.
Im running Quark 6.5 on my Pc right now. I intend to save a bunch of pages and transfer them to a Mac version of Quark 6.5. I normally use mac version but my macbook was stolen so i had to fall back to good ole pc version.
Will this work.?
Im only asking rather than just doing it because I dont want to find out its not possible and make a fucking 2 hour commute and have to come back.
Im probably going to save a bunch of PDFs anyways but Id like to have the ability to edit.
Will a file saved with the PC version of Quark 6.5 open on the Mac version?
Yes, it should. One of my coworkers used to use Quark on her PC and Mac. I think the only issues that came up was when she would "hide" the file extension and switch between platforms. It would cause the version (I forget which platform) of Quark to not recognize it as a file. But renaming the file and adding the Quark Extension fixed that.
You won't have any issues with the file itself but you may have issues with fonts. Just make sure that you use fonts that are available for both PC and Mac.
