Seattle ISP

I recently moved into my own place, and I find myself in dire need of Internet. I'm not really familiar with local providers, so I called Comcast last Sunday. Long story short, they were bastards so I'd rather go with someone else. I don't have a land line, so DSL is out of the question (right?). Speed isn't terribly important; I'd rather have mediocre rates than pay out the nose. Are there any alternatives out there?

You can get DSL without a landline. I think that's your only option other than Comcast. Verizon is an option in some parts of the Seattle area, but AFAIK it is not very widespread yet.
If you do decide to go the DSL route, I would seriously recommend against Speakeasy. I was a customer of theirs for about four years, and then when I changed my service package they secretly decided I had agreed to a new contract. When I cancelled my service I was out almost $300 (plus the $150 charge that caused me to cancel my service in the first place).
Right now I am using an independent ISP (Avvanta) through Qwest's lines. It is more expensive than what you're looking for, because I have a home hosting package instead of just regular internet access, but there are a lot of options if you go that route. I technically have a land line, but it's really only for DSL (IE I am not paying the full land line price). If you call the number associated with it, you get sent to the phone call phantom zone.

Clearwire has some decent intro deals, from what I've seen, but I don't know how reliable/fast they are.

I'm with Broadstripe (formerly Millennium Digital Media), and I have their cable internet package without cable TV. I share it with two other people, but otherwise it would be too expensive at $60/month.

I'd much rather have Verizon's FiOS service, since it's a lot faster and cheaper, but it's not available in my area yet.
