2 computers, 1 router, Diablo 2

Hello all,

I recently bought Diablo 2 for my girlfriend so that we can play together, however I've run into a bit of a snag. I use a wireless router (Netgear WGR614 v6) for both of our internet needs. However, the router blocks us from logging onto Battle.net. I have port forwarding set up on my computer's ip for ports 6112 and 4000, however the router doesn't let me open the same ports for a different ip (her computer).

If you can't tell, I know very little about networking. I would really like to keep using the router, as it has wireless internet and my gf has a laptop.

However, if I can't get that to work out for us, I also have a regular hub, but I can't get that to give both of us internet access at the same time. It's only one or the other. I'm guessing I would have to set up a network to get that to work? How would I do that?

If you're just wanting to play with your girlfriend and not worry about other people, you can always just play on the local network. If you're both connected to the router, you should be able to do it without problems.

I'd also like to play with my cousins. This is a bit of a frustrating issue. I forward the ports, but it doesn't seem to actually forward them. I changed the settings, unplugged my router and modem for 30 seconds, get back on and it still gives me the same crap. Online it looks like many, many people have this same problem. The weird thing is I can play WoW just fine...

So then, if no one has any ideas on plan A, what about Plan B? Can I use a regular hub to connect both computers to the internet at the same time?

Well, I found a fix through experimentation for those interested.

My router uses port forwarding and port triggering. For some reason, starcraft (port 6112) was listed under port triggering (I've never played the game so I didn't put it on there...). I deleted this and retained the port forwarding for 6112 and 4000, and now we can play together.
