The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born would get my vote for best mini, but damn, there were soooooo many good ones this year.
The Walking Dead would get it for Best Non-Tights and Best Non-Big Two.
Best New Series: Thor
Best Ongoing: As much as I would love to give it to an X book for this year... I'd give it to Thunderbolts.
That's all I've got now.

I think Best Writer is going to turn into a cage match between Brubaker, Johns and Fraction.
Johns.
He's only writing four of the best comics money can buy every month and helped orchestrate and write probably the best event of the year.
Yes and Brubaker is orchestrating the (Not as good as SCW, but still good) biggest X-Event in many years, writing Captain America without the titular character and still making it a good book, meeting Bendis' run on Daredevil and he killed Captain America in a way that wasn't cheesy and retarded.

Marko Djurdjevic should be pretty much a no-brainer for best cover artist this year. The only ones that've come close for me are the Nova covers that Granov has done, but Marko has just done so many that are all good.

I'd say they're on equal footing.
But it's marvel
so Karma won't acknowledge it
I thoroughly enjoy the new Thor book whenever a new issue is released.
If that book comes up in a category, I may be obliged to vote for it. Don't assume things.
"HELLO MISS. I'D LIKE AN ICE CREAM." HE SAID, REACHING INTO HIS POCKET FOR BITS OF LOOSE CHANGE AND A CRUMPLED FIVE DOLLAR BILL.
"I'M SORRY, SIR. YOU SEEM TO BE DOWN WITH A SLIGHT CASE OF RETARDATION. THIS IS A FALAFEL-HUT."
OF COURSE, HE THOUGHT. WHAT A FOOL I WAS TO FALL FOR SUCH A CLEVER RUSE.
"MA'AM, YOU HAVE TIL THE COUNT OF THREE TO PRODUCE ICE CREAM. IF AT SOME POINT I DO NOT SEE A DELICIOUS CONFECTION OF ICE AND CREAM, I WILL BE FORCED TO TEAR YOUR TORSO IN HALF AND THROW IT TO THE DOGS IN THE DISTANCE. NEITHER OF US WANTS THIS OUTCOME."
AND LO, SHE LITERALLY SHAT OUT A STEPHEN COLBERT'S AMERICONE DREAM ICE CREAM.
I'm gonna go with GL #25 for Best Single.
My second place pick is Moon Knight #last month, with Marc's interview for his registration card.
Trippy as all fuck.
Actually, Bendis should not be overlooked for Writer of the Year. I think we tend to forget about him for some reason.
USM is one of the most consistently good books being published. I really think it is taken for granted.
Illuminati was really great. Both Avengers books are worth reading every month. I guess the Halo thing is pretty decent?
Brian Bendis is a fantastic writer, but this really is not his year. Everyone here is right when they say Johns and Brubaker are writing multiple hits every single month, and they are doing it with less lucrative properties than Spider-Man and/or the Avengers.
BEST NEW SERIES
BEST WRITER
BEST ARTIST
BEST ONGOING
BEST MINISERIES
BEST EVENT
BEST SINGLE ISSUE
BEST CREATIVE TEAM
MOMENT OF THE YEAR
HERO OF THE YEAR
VILLAIN OF THE YEAR
TEAM OF THE YEAR
BEST NON-BIG TWO TITLE
What's freaky is that I've been working on my awards for the year this weekend and I've got most of those exact names for my categories. Only ones I don't have are Team of the Year, Best Creative Team and I call my Best Non-Big Two Title, "Best Non-Super Hero Book".
Some of the categories I have that aren't listed are:
Best Publisher
Best Collection or Trade
Best Collectible (not sure if I'll do this one, as I don't really collect toys or statues)
Best Comic Book Movie
Best Book That Never Comes Out (basically a category for stuff like All-Star Superman and Astonishing X-Men that put out like 5 books a year if they're lucky. that doesnt count as an ongoing to me, so made a category for them).

As for Book of the Year? I'd go with Immortal Iron Fist.
didn't that start this year?
I could be wrong though.
I am awful with dates.
EDIT: Yeah, it was 11/29/06
I guess it's a good thing I didn't box away most of my comics this year
now I can page through them to refresh my memory

does Scott Pilgrim count?
If not, maybe GL 25, maybe Spirit #11
I'd give Best Mini to Black Summer probably
Might just go with Booster Gold #1 just for making me fall in love with a series that only had one issue at the time.

Fraction is the wild card.
Don't leave that out, Blank.

It is time for team Blan-jin to rise from the ashes.
And Brubaker gets a bit of an edge for having one more awesome book than Johns and Fraction.
OH SHIIIT
is this cool y/n
Well, I'm not sure here....but:

MAN, HE LOVED SATURDAYS.
My second place pick is Moon Knight #last month, with Marc's interview for his registration card.
Trippy as all fuck.
Bendis/Bagley for creative team, if nothing else because we didn't have a chance to give it to them before, and won't have another chance, really.

It says a lot about Maleev's work when his worst stuff is still better than a lot of dude's best.
But goddamn Master Chief looks all sorts of weird.

No, he deserves it for the Fables covers.
