TL;DR: Transistors turned 60 yesterday.

Transistors let cheap bastards take photos:

Transistors will soon be our downfall:

And they allow even the laziest officer to maintain order:

ITT, we discuss the awesome things transistors have done for us, and where they will take us. What have you done with transistors today? I am wasting valuable CPU cycles listening to music and making a thread.

I went on a date with a transistor once, it ended quite uneventful. I was never sure what to call him, her, it.

I recently wrote a paper that involved transistor technology.

I was all like "INTEGRATED CIRCUITS WITH TRANSISTORS OR CAPACITORS AS VOLATILE MEMORY YO!"

Yeah, really it was about computers.

But you can't really have RAM without Transistors.

Wait unless there's RAM based solely on capacitors instead of transistor gates.

    Then I guess you could.

All this thread does is remind me of that shitty 311 song.

I mean the one about transistors, not every other song they've done.

I don't like things that perform nonexistent verbs

    An elevator elevates
    A computer computes
    A transistor.... transists?

    What are they really doing

I read once about a guy that bought an old Cray supercomputer to heat his garage.
