Some said this day would never come. What are they to say now?

Quote from Announcement
Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise. It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party. They created a short teaser for Duke Nukem Forever.

After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it's just a teaser, rest assured more is coming.

Tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th, around noon CST, we will release the first teaser trailer from Duke Nukem Forever. To tide you over until then, here is a screen shot taken from the teaser.

Thank you for being fans of the game and for your continued patience.

I'd like to thank the people on the team that worked so hard to create this teaser and the friends of 3DR that helped create it (Jeremy Soule and Julian Soule, Frank Bry, Jason Evigan and of course, Jon St. John).

Currently, 3D Realms is blaming inexperienced employees as to what has held back development, and are now looking for people who have 5 or even 8-10 years of experience (Which is ironic considering it’s been in development for that long). Additionally, Scott Miller sites that a lack of management has also held back development… In short, as Scott Miller says “We suck.”
    ----

Okay, now that all that is done, wow a video.. I never thought I'd see this day come around again. DNF is the last of the great delays. (Now that TF2 and Prey have been released).. I don't think I want to live in a world where DNF isn't in development. It's too scary!

There's the point you wanted. This isn't about missing a release date; or even a few. This is about missing release dates for the past 10 or so years, and almost consistently coming up with a new release date every year only to miss it. THAT'S what is significant (in a funny way) about that list of quotes.

Guys... we've already gotten 2 teaser trailers which proved to mean absolutely nothing in the end. The game is still never going to come out. There's no chance.

Watch, this trailer is just going to be Duke flexing his muscles and saying one of his catch lines before a fade to black and "2008" appearing in white letters.

I'm laughing at an unusual, and humorous situation made even more funny by how short of the mark the developers have continually and consistantly been. Or at least it used to be.. At this point it's kind of lost some of it's charm; hence why I said "Just to get this out of the way" at the top of my first post. Someone ALWAYS asks for the list of quotes to be posted in this threads so I've gotten into the habit of putting all the request stuff into a single post as soon as I can.
I don't know, I don't find it funny at all, I find it as a bunch of people acting like five year olds.
They've been working on a single game for the past decade; IMO, that's pretty damn funny. Or it was.

I still look forward to this game, assuming it runs on my PC. The other 3 main-series Duke games were good, so I'm sure this will be worth my time as well, whenever it comes out.
