Ok, so are there any ones that ANYONE would suggest?
Because all I can see here is people that hate MMO's therefore giving heavily biased opinions, that aren't relevant?

Who said anything about hating MMO's. A crap game is a crap game.
Tabula Rasa is a good game. I don't know what the fuck these assholes problem is. Frankly, I don't know who the fuck most of the 100% negative forumers are either, the people I do recognise who ultimately don't like it - eg Jasconius - are at least rational about it.
I'd also recommend EvE. And going to the MMO subforum, where people who like MMOs in general tend to post more and where there's a thread of people who do actually find the game fun.
It's good. It's not brilliant. But it's also set to get better. Most reviewers place it around 85% and mark it as recommended. Good, not brilliant, but better than many others. Critically, WoW, LOTRO and EvE are all probably better, but that doesn't make TS a steaming pile of shit.
Maybe I don't get it, but to me that says you don't like MMORPG.
I dont like it cause its not a proper mmorpg. The constant instancing is terrible, and the attempt to combine two different genres turns it into a convoluted, generic shit. Even Hellgate London, despite all its flaws and terrible attempt to exploit people, offers more fun than this bland borefest.
The damn thing charges a monthy fee, meaning it costs a fuck load more than your average game, which is something i take into account when criticising it.
I was psyched for TR when I got into the Beta, then after a short tutorial I was given a mission to kill 200 aliens. At this point I was logging out muttering something about grindfests and how Garriot needs to get back to doing what I want him to do. Ultima games.
Tabula Rasa is better than Hellgate: london, by any measure.
Erm...no. Its better by YOUR measures. Opinion my friend, everyone has one.
Ok, Tabula Rasa is better than Hellgate: London by general consensus.
PS not your friend
You seem to be taking this criticism of Tabula Rasa rather personally. Richard is that you?
You were the one that started making it all about me.
Are you imagining things? You are the one who started calling people assholes cause they dont like your beloved game. I simply stated that your opinion should not be portrayed as fact. You seem very argumentative, and since i consider internet arguments pointless, i shall depart from this thread before an admin kicks me in the ass.
Man, I got a Tabula Rasa trial invite the other day. I'm sorry if you like the game, but holy hell that has to be the most dreadfully boring monstrosity I've played this year. I wouldn't say it's bad, but it doesn't have a shred of entertainment encapsulated within its wretched, dried husk.
Also, I'm not usually a graphics whore, but it is pretty remarkable to craft an entire game in this day and age without a single visually appealing element in it. I honestly find it surprising that the game was even released, and not so much because it's buggy. This is one of those times where I simply cannot fathom how a game has gotten above 50 on Metacritic.
You really should play the trial. I absolutely loathe the game, but putting aside my own feelings, it's always a good idea to try before you buy. I see some people liking it here, and good for them - maybe it gets better the more you play it, but after having tried it, I would never recommend it to anyone.
Hellgate London is A LOT better. And Hellgate London is shit.

You should've turned around 180 degrees and gone and spoken to the other guy (the one who you were instructed to talk to after leaving the dropship - congratulations on failing the first test 'following basic instructions' btw) who would give you more conventional less grindy quests. What you got was a Targets of Opportunity quest. These aren't designed to be approached as a stand alone quest, in fact all the targets of opportunity are usually achieved during the course of doing other quests without any additional effort or digressions from the mission paths.
TR is distinctly not a grindfest (which is one thing i like about it, I've only ever leveled up as a result of completing missions, I've never had to go out and kill things for no other reason than gaining XP to level up). The grind only starts at around level 30 - 33 at the moment, although that's an unintentional balance issue which the developers are apparently working to resolve.
If you think a sci-fi MMO might be your cup of tea then you should go an read this thread because it is a lot less terrible than this one and download a trial of the game.
Also, Hellgate: London is terrible, but no way is Tabula Rasa worse.

Almost everything released this season is better than Hellgate: london, by any measure.
Cough.
Is Hellgate: London really that bad? I haven't played it, but my buddy did. He said his eyes started to bleed from all the bad. Though he is a bit melodramatic.

I'm tempted to rant, I really am. Someone else better answer this before I crumble.
I'll expand on my previous post. No TR is not good.
The intro is entertaining because you get to kill some invading aliens and you feel pretty cool. After that you get a quest to kill space boars and collect pieces of them. Seriously space boars, it's fucking retarded.
The game is also a buggy unfinished mess. The skills make little sense and are completely unbalanced. The combat is kind of fun, but basically they just took auto attack away and now you have to click a lot. The is no real aiming so FPS fans will find it lame, but MMO guys will find the constant clicking tedius.
Basically I feel bad for NCSoft that they let Garriot run wild with this game that took way to long to make for what it is. For all it's faults WoW is the best MMORPG on the market right now, I hope Bioware makes an awesome KotoR Online and we finally have a good scifi MMORPG.

we also talk about other random shit and clown upon each other
No.
Tabula Rasa is nothing like EvE, btw. It's pretty much completely different, which is why I like it.
It's the most generic piece of shit i've ever played. And brown/dull colours seems to be its favourite colour.

Get the trial, seriously - it was pretty easy to get one. Though, every MMO should have mandatory trials, instead of this whole invite arglebargle.
