Wait, cards? I still have a bunch of the old cards.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
You know, with a catch line like "A True Legend Never Dies" they sure do have a lot of dead folks in the ad.
Ehhh, that won't last.
We already know one is due back in some form or another, and with another Hulk movie coming out, I'm sure there'll be a big event bringing him (in some form or another) back before it's released, if not sooner.

Wait, cards? I still have a bunch of the old cards.
Edit: I have the entire collections of the Marvel Universe Series 2, 3, and 4, cards. All in huge baseball card albums. I think I know where they are in storage, I'm kind of curious enough to go find them.
Then again, I'm sure a few are probably missing here and there after being moved around so much before being put in storage. I just remember looking, and organizing those things for hours.
But I may be wrong, he could be back already for all I know.
Nah... outside of Exiles, he's still dead.
And good riddance, frankly.

Looks like it's all cards from the Vs. System card game. Pictured is SNIKT! plot twist from the X-Men Set, Captain America 6-cost from the Avengers set and the 7-cost Hulk from Marvel Team-Up.
Ariel Olivetti does some goddamned great work for that game, glad to see it getting some more attention.
All I really want is the Juggernaut card. I got the Juggernaut card that came with Figure factory in the very first figure I bought and put it in my wallet.
Sure enough, while I'm out my fiancee takes my "dirty" laundry and washes it, not realizing my wallet was still in my jeans. I was heart broken.
I had an old grandma's photo album full of series 1 (and then later I went nuts on the pure x-men cards). My only advise when it comes to cards is this:
I really don't see the appeal of trading cards, much less trading cards that aren't part of some game and are more than a decade removed from when sports cards were still cool and valuable.
as a comics reader you dont understand that some people just love collectible shit?
Well it's comic art, but instead of being inside a comic along with several other pages of art it's much smaller and on a slice of cardboard with a biographical blurb and meaningless power ratings in place of a story.
And since the packs cost about as much a comic, why not just buy more comics? Or action figures? Or posters, which can at least be displayed?
The collectible aspect is pretty addictive which is why buying boxes tends to be somewhat less satisfying than buying a few packs at a time.
My brother and I used to be addicted to the other Marvel cards (as seen on page 1 of the thread). A big box of them got turned into a soggy mass of cardboard when my parents' basement flooded.
I understand that "collecting" instinct, even though I pretty much avoid it these days (more due to space limitations than actual self-awareness, but...). People always assumed that because I collected comics and have large DVD and CD collections, that I always understood the "collector mentality." And while it's true that I do feel that "pull" to complete a comic run with a missing issue even though I know that issue is terrible, I'm never that interested in collecting stuff just to "have" it - my DVD, CD, and comics collections exist so that I can watch/listen to/read them over and over again. If they were just little knicknacks I'd have a harder time understanding why I'd want them or keep them.
I DID have a ton of the old comic character cards, again, mostly because I liked reading the backs and looking at the art and then randomly picking them out of piles and trying to think up stories that could justify including all kinds of random characters, but sometimes comics collectors really WON'T understand why somebody else would collect something, depending on what else they could get out of it...
PS: In high school,. my having an extra Human Torch card from that second or third Marvel series to trade to some guy I barely knew and didn't think liked me at all from jr. high was essentially responsible for the beginning of one of my closest and longest-lasting friendships (to the point where we'd pretty much help each other hide bodies with no questions asked). Watch that actually happen and have Marvel cards blamed for a murder spree or something...

I've got all these and a bunch of DC ones. All of it's going on ebay.
I bought a ton of cards when I was a kid, which I still have...just pulled em out again, and they're in surprisingly good condition still.
Here's the weird thing. When reading this thread, I was looking back and thinking what an idiot I was as a kid for spending all that money on cards that I couldn't do anything with...I wasted money on MtG too but at least they provided some entertainment. Then I pulled em out and flipped through em...and I suddenly wanted to go buy some more fucking cards. What the hell, do they have some sort of visual crack or something? Why do I want cards now!? :x
There was a whole series of painting-style super-hero cards that just looked awesome. And still do.
I remember a "Lady Death" (or "Cry for Dawn" ?) series, and the artist slipped in a number of cards featuring high profile Disney couples doing the super-nasty.
Comic cards are the only reason I know anything about comics. :P
90% of my knowledge of who was what and what that meant came from those cards, as I was only able to get a hold of comics sporadically as a kid.
I'm the same way. I'd pick up a 90's X-Men title and have no idea what was going on or who everyone was. But the cards taught me everything I needed to somewhat comprehend the stories.
So there you go, comic cards are like hooked on phonics for beginning comic fans.

Nice to know they're probably worth jack.

Not that I'd get rid of it, just curious.
Must resist temptation.

By "dirty" I mean worn for less than a week.
Keep them in water tight compartments!
