So, my girlfriend's old laptop died. It had all of her music on it, including her purchased songs from iTunes. Thankfully, her entire music library is still on her iPod. I need a good program that can copy the songs from her iPod so I can put them on her new laptop, a macbook pro. Are there any good ones you'd recommend? Thanks!
the purchased ones are really easy to grab. install iTunes onto the new laptop, log in with her account, and when you connect the iPod, it will tell you you have purchased music on the iPod that is not in the library and ask you if you want to transfer them to the library.
There is software that lets you pull music off the iPod(I've never needed it, I do backups to external HDD's), but the first thing people will need to know is mac or windows?

Yeah, she's got an external HDD, but hadn't done a recent backup. Her new laptop is a mac.

It's excellent and I can't recommend it enough.
As far as I know it's only available for the Mac (which your girlfriend seems to have).
I've used it before and its pretty neat.
