If I got this laptop http://b2b.sony.com/Solutions/subcategory/notebooks/sz-series

Would I run 32 or 64 bit on it? I am talking the regular sz, not the super deluxe, though they have the same processor so I guess that wouldn't matter would it?

I believe that 64-bit is better with dual-core processors. I beleive the coding on 64bit applications is tailored towards dual-core....could be completely wrong but this seems to be stuck in my head

The main advantage of a 64 bit OS is that programs can address a huge amount of memory. The main disadvantage is some trouble with backward compatibility and maybe less stable drivers.

Drivers are stable when they exist. XP 64 seemed to have a rough time with them; there wasn't a huge push to support it.

I'd say it's worth it, especially if you plan on using RAM-intensive apps like Photoshop or CAD programs, and have 4gb installed. Just make sure the device and any peripherals are supported.
