Also if Ness comes back his Forward Smash should have like a 1/1000 chance of being the Sword of Kings instead of the bat.
but.... poo uses the sword of kings not ness :-(
I don't really care.
I mean, I admitted I didn't go frame by frame looking at it, I was just going by what Lucas uses as a weapon for most of Mother 3.
As pointed out before, it's not like the SSB series has exactly been faithful to the Mother series. Ness doesn't use PK Thunder or Fire in Earthbound, and
Lucas doesn't learn PK Starstorm in Mother 3, and doesn't get a real bat until the very end of the game
.
Either way, I can't wait to play as Lucas. He'll probably the second character I try (the first being Pokemon Trainer).
t Joshua - Sorry I dont watch too much stuff on Gametrailers. Id like to think I could be on a blackout but looking at the dojo updates is too much to resist.

It looks more like a table leg or rolling pin to me. Maybe it's just the picture, but it looks way too bulgy at the end to be a baseball bat. And it's definitely too round for a 2x4.
Oh Sakurai, you dirty tease.
It does look a lot like a table leg.
I get the feeling Lucas will swing a random object (like Peach does) every time you do his forward smash.
The Christmas Update had better be fucking Megaman.
Uh oh...
During a question/answer session in the latest Bionic Commando podcast (http://www.bioniccommando.com/en/downloads/view/49/1), Keiji Inafune lets us know that Mega Man isn’t in Brawl. His answer is pretty fun, and includes a little teasing throughout.
Well, I really do love Super Smash Brothers. It’s a great series…but, Nintendo hasn’t asked me yet if they can use Mega Man in their game. I’m still waiting…we have a little bit of time left, it’s not coming out for another few months. They might get around to asking us if we’d like to put Mega Man in Super Smash Brothers. Maybe if somebody from Nintendo is listening to this podcast, they’ll give me a call.
So there you have it…Inafune says no Mega Man in Brawl. I guess we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed for the next Smash Bros. game. Huge thanks to Tinker for the heads up.
Eh, I'm not so sure how to take this after reading the comments section at GoNintendo. There's a good chance this could be a somewhat dated podcast that was prepared ahead of time to have as an extra on the Bionic Commando site (or rather it needed to be prepared ahead of time because of the translation and redubbing). If the listener questions aren't fictitious then the earliest it could have been made is late October and the latest (ignoring the possibility that Inafune has no idea what he's talking about) would be November since he mentions "months" (and not a couple, a few) when we're only one month away from the Japanese release.
This is all wishful thinking on my part, but that delay came at a good time. Even if it wasn't caused directly by Mega Man, it did open a window so if Inafune's interest is there then we could still be en route to a bombin' blue horizon.
EDIT: But then again this is a European podcast (I think, shows up on the US site too) so "a few months" is still reality for their Smash release. But that also seems unlikely since developmentally speaking it wouldn't be giving them any time to add Mega Man unless he was exclusive to Europe (and according to sales they hate the guy)!

Eh, I don't think Inafune would be talking about the European release, even if it was on a European podcast. it's not like they are going to go back and add Megaman to just one version of the game.
Fun fact: This Podcast was actually recorded on the day of Mega Man 20th anniversary, which makes having Inafune-san, the father of Mega Man, on the Podcast all the more cool!

It's still possible that Inafune is out of the loop, since I doubt that would be his decision. It would be weird if nobody told him though. if Mega Man isn't in and :x if Sakurai didn't even try to add him. It would be a crime for any other third party character to take precedence over him, and even any Nintendo characters not added yet are trivial in comparison IMHO.

What the hell? So where is he pulling "a few months" from?
Whats even more odd is if that true he also answered some questions AT the 20th Anniversary event and one fo them was about Mega Man appearing in Smash Bros in which he said "No Comment". That would be essentially be giving 2 different answers on the same day.

Also remember that Yuji Naka said for months and months that he was unsure if Sonic was going to be in the game, then suddenly he was there on the Brawl site in October.

That's probably because Yuji Naka no longer works for Sega, so he was not involved in the decision. Keiji Inafune still works for Capcom.

Man, if Inafune isn't hiding something, he's an idiot. He should have taken the initiative like Kojima did. The day Brawl was announced, he shoulda been like,
"DUDES! You have to put my Mega Manz in your game!"

Late ass response, I know, but it's Link's taunt. He's just doing the taunt close enough to Zelda that it looks like it circles her.
Try looking at some of the movies of it in action at GameTrailers.

Probably a Subspace only OHKO weapon. or after a playthrough you can use it to turn bosses into trophies.

That's why the day it comes out in Japan I'm banning myself from these threads until the game is in my hands with every character unlocked.

The day this comes out in Japan, I'm going to be in this thread F5-ing like nuts. Screw surprises.
Edit: I am going to try to avoid Subspace Emissary story/stage spoilers, though. I just want to know the unlockable characters.
You're wondering about the sense of time of a dude who places his games in "20xx"?
Just sayin'.
Dammit you're right!

I'm not holding my breath but I really do hope the blue bomber is in the game.
This cuts me to my very core.
No Megaman?
Th... that can only mean...
YES.
