Even then the image just suggests that the Japanese version has gone gold. It's not impossible that they could have found a major issue or two in the North American version at the last minute.
My guess is that the yellow alloy is just Mario. His stance and figure just remind of him, and the horns seem to just be for decoration. The green one is almost certainly Kirby, and I'm guessing the blue one is Zelda as that's what it was like in Melee.
Hmmm.... could someone post similar shots of Mario and yellow alloy next to each other so we can compare their proportions?

Wow, I know people consider it against the spirit of Smash, but that Soul Calibur IV topic has got my mind spinning with possibilities.
I still want the next game to be Nintendo Vs. The World, all-out with third parties rather than just a few guests, but if the game after that allowed for properties like Star Wars that'd be just dandy.

the soul calibur one is definitely interesting but makes almost no sense, but they did add Spawn in the xbox version of soul calibur 2, so I guess the randomness continues.

That's not really the kind of thing that firmware updates address. Firmware updates are kind of like OS patches, and you couldn't / wouldn't really use them to patch individual games. (Besides, even if they could just include an update disk, they'd still have to manufacture that, which could still mean a delay.)
The Super Paper Mario thing required replacement disks to be made, as did Guitar Hero 3's lack of stereo sound.
I'm not saying that the game's going to be delayed...I'm just saying that even if the Japanese version has gone gold, that's not proof that the NA version won't be delayed.

1-3 Pikmin present little threat. Once you start churning them out though . . .
Realistically I think at any given time you can have probably 6-8 pimkin in play. If you have a full force out it'll be hard to take them down.

Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Gamestop and the Dojo all still have the release date as Feb 10th. Theres nothing to worry about right now.
