Scroll-Wheel stuck/barely working

I have been using my Logitech MX610 cordless laser mouse for about a year now and it has been a decent mouse. I certainly don't want to go paying for a new one to replace it. My mouse's scroll wheel has come to a crawl and is almost stuck in place. And this has literally happened over night. Yesterday it worked fine and now it doesn't.

The only thing I can link to this change is possible spillage of pepsi, but I ddidn't think much hit my mouse at the time. It was like a drop that landed right on the wheel area I guess. So that's my leading suspect.

I have tried dabbing the wheel with a wet cloth and rotating it while whiping it, but the wheel doesn't seem sticky or in need of cleaning. My next guess is maybe something on its axel or whatever is clogged. Like hair wrapped around it?

I would think to tear it open and examine it, but I can't find any screws on this thing for taking it apart.

Anyone have experience with cleaning mice like this or taking them apart?
