You charlatans opened your presents on Christmas Eve? Shame on you all.
Our immediate family exchanges gifts from each other on Christmas Eve, then we get gifts from "Santa" on Christmas morning. It's probably a common tradition for many.
Thats the way we do it. My PS3 is from "santa"
tonight my brother and sister are going to my grandma's place where all my family is going to exchange gifts. And I have a big-ass family.
Our family is largish but very far apart so sometimes exchanging Christmas with them doesn't happen until June.
You charlatans opened your presents on Christmas Eve? Shame on you all.
In some countries you always do that.
I don't know what I'm getting yet, but I'll be posting it here in a few hours.
Or, alternatively, I exchange gifts with my Girlfriend's family Christmas eve at her house, then do it with my Family on Christmas Day.
It's always better opening gifts if you can see the person you gave the gift to open it.
EDIT: hell, my best friend and I did our gift exchange/opening last week, because I wouldn't see her until the new year(I'm actually wearing the shirt she gave me today, Transformers shirt ftw)
So far I between gifts and xmas bonus I have aquired a PS3, CoD4, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Warhawk, Everyday Shooter and Super Stardust Hd. Tonight I will probably be getting Assassin's Creed and or Virtua Fighter 5. I also have a Best Buy gift card I think I am going to use on Lair. So not a bad year for the video games.
I'm at my in-laws right now and they do the Christmas present thing this evening, probably in about an hour or so (I suspect atleast one present to contain books), once they get back from church. My own family's presents thing won't be till the 26th, mostly because my parents and brother have to wait for me and my fiance to get there.

We are almost the same person. Come tomorrow, lets play some CoD4 and Warhawk.

CoD4 is on the 360 but count me in for some Warhawk.
I'm getting a thin PSP and bunch of games for it. I also asked for Mass Effect but I don't think I'll get it this year. I'm going to grab Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 on the VC for my friend who loves the games' multiplayer but doesn't have a wii (or a super nintendo). If I have any money afterwards I'm going to do what I can to get homebrew working on my PSP.
My fiance bought a Wii in June as a family Christmas present. It's still unopened, and sitting under the tree. I don't know how she could go so long without opening the damn thing! Oh well, I got her Super Mario Galaxy for Christmas, since she loved the N64 one.
A guy from work got a 72" HDTV for Christmas. It's still sitting under the tree. Seriously, wtf?! Crack that bitch open! haha.
I don't know what I got yet. My fiance asked me what I put on my Christmas list I gave to my parents, and I told her pretty much all video game related stuff. She's like: "Oh good, nothing I would have got you." O_o What could it be? She ordered it from amazon.com hmm....
You charlatans opened your presents on Christmas Eve? Shame on you all.
I don't even have Christmas.
Jews unite!
Want to grab some Chinese food tomorrow?
I'm Christian, my girlfriend is Jewish, and my birthday is earlier in December. She got an awesome Chanukah present from me (a new PC built just for her), I got Guitar Hero 3, we opened all the family Christmas gifts yesterday, and we're going out for a movie & Chinese food tomorrow.

I'm getting a Best Buy card and cash from my aunt and grandmother (have every year forever). With that, I'll get CoD4 and work towards getting Guitar Hero 3.
My mom is getting me a mystery gift though...which scares me since she's known for getting craptastic gifts for people. And by "people" I mean me.
I bought the wife and myself both Daxter PSP bundles. We love them.
Also, if you don't celebrate Christmas, nothing against you, but why are you complaining in this particular thread?
what am I complaining about?
I posted what I got on the first page
and then told the dude who was making a fuss about people opening stuff already to shut up. (As in, I opened the gift that my coworker gave me already, because I don't celebrate christmas, so why should I wait?)

Ah my mistake, I misread your post. Did you know that Christmas is a Pagan tradition?
It was built on a combination of pagan traditions as a way of helping to draw in Pagans to the Christian fold. There are definitely pieces of it which come from the New Testament birth story, though.
Interestingly enough, the date of Christmas is based on, of all things, the date of the first day of Hannukah, which is the 25th day of the Jewish month of Kislev. It's funny because Hannukah is one of the most minor holidays within the entire Jewish religion.
My birthday is in early November, so I got my "big" gifts between then and Christmas which are considered a combination of birthday and Christmas gift. I don't get as much on either day, but I can get away with asking for more expensive stuff that I actually want. I got a 360 with Gears and Halo 3 (had to chip in a bit on that though). My dad surprised me with a 20 inch HDTV for my dorm room and a .204 Ruger in an AR-15 (not for my dorm room sadly).
The last few years I've ended up just going shopping with my mom and picked out my gifts or ordered stuff online for my parents to give me. She usually has no idea what I'm talking about when I ask for stuff anyway, especially in regards to music (which can really only be found on one website anyway), so this way I make sure I get what I want and she doesn't have to fight crazed last minute shoppers trying to find it. I got Super Mario Galaxy, Phantom Hourglass, some clothes and some random useful items. My grandmother decided to jump on the wagon and had me pick out a gift for her to give me this year as well, so I ordered Black Flag's Live in '84 for her to give me. I also got some checks and gift cards. I turned 21 in November, so our neighbors gave me a 12 pack of Yuengling on top of the 6 I drank while we were over there for a Christmas Eve dinner. Overall, it was one of the better years.
100 CD wallet for my movies, as my games one is full.
All the Star Trek movies on DVD
Hot Fuzz collector's edition
Shaun of the Dead
I am America (and So Can You) by Stephen Colbert
Superman: The Wedding Album and Action Comics #662 (the issue where Superman marries Lois Lane, and the one where he reveals his secret identity to her, respectively)
Transformers collector's edition
Another Century's Episode 3: The Final
6 new t-shirts
$350 in cash
And I've still got my dad's side of the family to go to on Saturday, where hopefully I'll be getting some Warhammer or CCG presents.
I got cash, which isn't so bad. But it's just not the same as getting gifts. The thing is, we've always had it where I just picked out my own gifts, and it was always games or whatnot. But now that I'm older, I don't really get games anymore for Xmas. I sorta wish I could just get cool stuff that was awesome but that I'd never buy for myself. *sigh*
I got The Orange Box for the 360, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Super Mario Galaxy, and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction from my grandparents. They also gave me a Homer Simpson USB desk lamp and a nifty little drawer-thing that has a hidden outlet strip for charging multiple items.
From my parents I got The Sopranos Seasons 3 & 4, Battlestar Galactica: Razor DVD, and a 1-year subscription to Xbox Live Gold.
My brother gave me Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Wii and a PS2 memory card reader for the PS3 (but since I already have one, we're going to find something else).
I also got a lot of clothes and other miscellaneous gifts. I did get around $400 in cash, which I've used so far to buy component cables for the Wii, a wavebird and I think I'm going to get some carnivorous plants as well.

I opened mine before that. We moved Christmas to Sunday because of travel arrangements.
I got RE:UC, Contra 4, NFS: Pro Street, Spyro: Eternal Night (WTF is this?), Pikmin, and Guitar Hero 3
And my girlfriend got the new Cooking Mama and Dewy's Adventure, so she's happy too.
CoD4 is on the 360 but count me in for some Warhawk.
also, i got my nieces (ages 2, 5, 7) Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution. i think they will enjoy it.

I've got all the games I wanted already (from the money stash me and my brother keep to get games), so my mum just got me clothes.
300 dollars worth of clothes. I never had so many t shirts.
He set the tree on top of the box.
I don't even have Christmas.
Sorry - it's easy to forget that not everybody celebrates Christmas.
What did you get this year for Kwanzaa Evander?
Though the sight would be... glorious? Dare I say epic?
Also, just decided im buying myself a nice 32" Samsung LCD for my bedroom on boxing day. Yay me.
Haha, I think it's one of those mini-trees that are about 2 feet tall.

This has been a pretty awesome month. :P
The beauty of a multi-faith relationship!
The beauty of practicing a religion just enough to qualify for annual gift giving. :P
My mom is getting me a mystery gift though...which scares me since she's known for getting craptastic gifts for people. And by "people" I mean me.
Russian or New York?
I'm just saying, this isn't a place to bitch that some one is doing it wrong, or especially that you don't like what you got.
Remmeber that some of us don't get nothin'.

Yeah, a cooking pot...
I may use the remaining $100 from another relative to either get the Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on, or some equipment to upgrade my desktop PC.
