I just picked this up for a friend and it's pretty darn fun. Just a complete rip-off of GTA with better graphics but still a fun game.
Two problems tho:
First, isn't there a way to play a female character?
Second, what's up with the monye you earn daily? We've done enough missions so that the money pre day should be well in excess of $5000 but the most it ever has, even after several in game days, is $2000. Is there a max limit? If so what the fuck? One mission specifically gives over 3000 a day once you complete it.

Second, I've got no clue.
I just beat the story as fast as I could and then used cheats so I didn't have to worry about money.
Ah, hells. The advertisments mislead me. I was really looking forward to playing as a ridiculously overweight black woman what whupped ass.
Also, on the subject of the game, I loved it. I preferred it to most of the GTAs (apart from GTA:London). I think it's a better game.
Still a pretty cool game though, if you can get by the... amusing... script.
try it online if you want real lulz
Has a ton of time sink achievements as well if you are in to that sort of thing.

Imagine Crackdown without any superpowers or high-tech weaponry/gadgetry/vehicles, and where you do jobs FOR the gangs instead of against them.
And yeah, if you like GTA without the humour than this is a pretty fun game.
I'd like to stress that the mechanics make up for the lack of humor/story. I enjoy the actual gameplay better than any GTA game I've played. Aiming and shooting is fantastic, the pathfinder for the minimap is incredibly useful, and some of the minigames are just a blast. (Especially insurance fraud)
The writing is deliciously bad. "Bullets still kill motherfuckers, right?"

Re: money, you get more daily alottments in accordance with the amount of territory you take over if I remember correctly. Might also have to do with the crib you have at the moment, too. I thought I remember there being more money/day in the last crib I unlocked. It's been a while, though.
Sadly, Respect doesn't work that way. We have like 36 or so bars of it.
Otherwise it's a fun game. I'm shocked how much of a clone of GTA it is tho. It's a ridiculoius understatement to even use "clone".
Though I nearly pissed in my pants when you character said some random BS the first time.

The explosions are pretty too.
I liked it, but it's no GTA.
Flying model airplanes in San Andreas completely broke immersion for me and I never got past that stupid mission.
