This whole line of posting regarding proof etc. is faulty at a base logical level. You can NEVER prove a negative. If i were to come in here and say that the OP is blatantly lying and you asked me to prove it, it is not possible. If you said that there is such a thing as a blue cow, it is your responsibility to show me a blue cow, not my responsibility to prove that there are no such thing as blue cows. I could bring out every cow on the planet and show that they are not blue and you could just say "well i have a blue cow in my basement." This is the reason that the scientific method is based on the idea of the null hypothesis. You assume that something isn't true and then when you get evidence of the contrary you have information that is valid.
The onus of proof in this matter lies with the OP and his editor. I'm not saying either of them are liars. But I will say "prove it." That doesn't mean i'm a cynic or a MS fanboy. It means i'm a sceptic. So far from what i've seen of substance in this thread, I still haven't changed my opinion much since the beginning. MS can't do much about moving his gamertag to the US and that is unfortunate. It's quite possible that the CS reps were unprofessional and for that the OP should probably be compensated. MS is one of the biggest supporters of the OPs gaming site and because the OP is stirring up a bunch of trouble MS doesn't want to support that site anymore. Sorry to say but that's the price of business a lot of times, especially if the business is small like this one and they don't have any leverage over MS. I'll also say that the OPs editor did bring up a conflict of interest when they broke the professional and personal barrier with the rep.
Lastly this whole semantic issue over "he's a journalist/he's not a journalist" is bullshit. It doesn't matter if he only writes editorials, they still have to be based on facts. If MS files a libel suit tomorrow and says "prove to me that our rep did this" you better be sure that the OP would have to come up with some proof. It doesn't matter if you get paid to write these thoughts either, libel is libel.
Again, I'm just sceptical of this whole situation and I have serious doubts as to whether anything has been accurately portrayed as of now. I wish there were more that could be done to rectify the original situation, but from what I have seen the compounding of the issue is as much the fault of the OP and his editor as it is MS just being shitty. The end result will most likely be that nothing happens as far as MS is concerned, the OP's gaming site may have lost it's biggest supporter, and because of the whole fiasco the site may get a boost in traffic for a period of time. Hope it was worth it.

I guess I just find it weird, I know I take notice of certain poster's more than others. I just can't put my finger on why it happens, except for with Katchem_Ash; I remember him because his posts are awesome.
Even Sony's case a few weeks or months back about the PS3 as a gift issue, was way better handled than his thing MS is pulling.

This is very true, but i'm also seeing alot of gamertags here trying to help Squirm. I would like to think that an issue like this can rise above petty shit like "my console is better than yours" as stuff like this affects all of us. I like the 360, I like the PS3... but Sony and Microsoft are huge, multinational corporations who would sell their mothers for profit. Thats what we all forget. These companies dont give a fuck about us. They care about the green in our wallets (or whatever color your currency is.) It seems they dont even give a fuck when we do buy their consoles.

This whole line of posting regarding proof etc. is faulty at a base logical level. You can NEVER prove a negative. If i were to come in here and say that the OP is blatantly lying and you asked me to prove it, it is not possible. If you said that there is such a thing as a blue cow, it is your responsibility to show me a blue cow, not my responsibility to prove that there are no such thing as blue cows. I could bring out every cow on the planet and show that they are not blue and you could just say "well i have a blue cow in my basement." This is the reason that the scientific method is based on the idea of the null hypothesis. You assume that something isn't true and then when you get evidence of the contrary you have information that is valid.
The onus of proof in this matter lies with the OP and his editor. I'm not saying either of them are liars. But I will say "prove it." That doesn't mean i'm a cynic or a MS fanboy. It means i'm a sceptic. So far from what i've seen of substance in this thread, I still haven't changed my opinion much since the beginning. MS can't do much about moving his gamertag to the US and that is unfortunate. It's quite possible that the CS reps were unprofessional and for that the OP should probably be compensated. MS is one of the biggest supporters of the OPs gaming site and because the OP is stirring up a bunch of trouble MS doesn't want to support that site anymore. Sorry to say but that's the price of business a lot of times, especially if the business is small like this one and they don't have any leverage over MS. I'll also say that the OPs editor did bring up a conflict of interest when they broke the professional and personal barrier with the rep.
Lastly this whole semantic issue over "he's a journalist/he's not a journalist" is bullshit. It doesn't matter if he only writes editorials, they still have to be based on facts. If MS files a libel suit tomorrow and says "prove to me that our rep did this" you better be sure that the OP would have to come up with some proof. It doesn't matter if you get paid to write these thoughts either, libel is libel.
Again, I'm just sceptical of this whole situation and I have serious doubts as to whether anything has been accurately portrayed as of now. I wish there were more that could be done to rectify the original situation, but from what I have seen the compounding of the issue is as much the fault of the OP and his editor as it is MS just being shitty. The end result will most likely be that nothing happens as far as MS is concerned, the OP's gaming site may have lost it's biggest supporter, and because of the whole fiasco the site may get a boost in traffic for a period of time. Hope it was worth it.

A guy got a PS3 as a gift and Sony refused to fix it for free without the receipt despite the fact that the PS3 would still be within the warranty if it was bought as soon as it was manufactured. It took a while for him to finally get Sony to fix it.

Well, whenever you have something like this, a lot of console fanboyism appears and just clutters up the whole thing. Obviously anti-MS/pro-Sony/Nintendo fanboys will jump all over this. Pro-MS/anti-Sony fanboys will "retaliate", etc. It goes back and forth. And you don't have to be a total fanboy, just someone with enough bias to skew you one way or another. What's lost is logic, maturity, decency, level-headedness, etc.

But this thread has been going for a month now. Squirminator registered in fucking 2003 for chrissakes. And the only thing he really has to gain (assuming that this is, in fact, a hoax) is a temporary bump in traffic on a site that (no offense intended) I've never heard of. So why the fuck would he do this?
Also, I simply cannot believe that some of you think the 'hoax theory' is somehow more plausible than someone at Microsoft being a dick. That boggles my mind.

This is very true, but i'm also seeing alot of gamertags here trying to help Squirm. I would like to think that an issue like this can rise above petty shit like "my console is better than yours" as stuff like this affects all of us. I like the 360, I like the PS3... but Sony and Microsoft are huge, multinational corporations who would sell their mothers for profit. Thats what we all forget. These companies dont give a fuck about us. They care about the green in our wallets (or whatever color your currency is.) It seems they dont even give a fuck when we do buy their consoles.
