Hahaha I like your choice of the word claims. Yea I'll buy all but the 30 seconds to mars, but yea I was just wondering if they are as annoying as say, some of the bonus songs.

Oh please, you know half of the people who parade on about loving X type of metal have Fall Out Boy and Panic! CDs :D

Move along and Dirty Little Secret are upbeat enough that they don't annoy me at all. I HATE the one other song with the girl singer, and after watching it on youtube, I opted out.

I'll fess up to really liking The Kill. I'm not so much a fan of Attack, but I do have 30 Seconds to Mars' first album and it's not so bad. I find it's a lot easier to like songs from modern acts when you don't have to actually look at them playing, as in a video or live performance! And I despise All American Rejects but Move Along is amazing fun, I'm glad I listened to the recommendations from people here. Again, I don't have to see them with their faux-faded vintage T-shirts and rock posturing, and I can just play that killer drum beat. Rhythm games do a great job of getting me to like music I don't normally like, though.

Good God!! Someone has posted some of Pat's fabulous covers on YouTube.

This has to be the definative version of Enter Sandman right here. Moss, get the guys at HMX to have this as DLC.

Might as well release Richard Cheese stuff for DLC.

Back on topic, how long does Endless Setlist take to complete? My sister and I are looking at trying it out but if it takes too long we might just wait until the weekend.

fall out boy, panic, 30 seconds, the killers, all of these bands are HORRIBLE.

even though i might be able to stand some, most of it is horrid. especially panic, they have no musical talent, and just parade around wearing makeup. All their lyrics are like, "laa laa we do this, and did that and we are doing this."

the acro-brats are pretty good. i remember them from both guitar heroes, and they're really good punk.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of covers: I saw Maroon 5 open for John Mayer some years ago, and the best live cover I've ever seen was Maroon 5 covering NIN's Closer, partly because it was a surprisingly great cover and partly because the crowd was mostly 12-year-old girls with their parents and my friends and I got to scream "I WANT TO FUCK YOU LIKE AN ANIMAL" as loud as we could.

Yeah all my usual screennames were taken already.
My singer is named Arikado though. The "guest" that is always with us is my sister. I'm on vocals all the time.
It sucks that LIVE kept dropping either you or us yesterday.

EDIT: I personally don't mind the Killers. I think they are a pretty good band live and their first CD was very good. Second one....not so much. I do have issue with Fallout Boy and AFI, but that's just regarding the monotony of most of the lyrics they put to songs. It's like "seriously dude, were you in that much of a rush?!"

I'm happy with all the Bonus songs in Rock Band except for "I Get By." "29 Fingers" felt stupid playing the first time through but I got used to it.

So I RMA'd my XBOX 360 guitar about a month ago, recieved the box for it, mailed it off, then a week ago came the UPS guy with the usual "boy we're getting a lot of these!" and I sign for the package and there it is...empty. I look on the box and it says PLAYSTATION 3 guitar.

Wow, somebody must've been having a crappy day in shipping because I even see on the packing list:

    Description: XBOX 360 guitar

    Qty: 1

    Weight: 5 lbs

Five pounds my ass! Anyways, I write EA customer support back this:
I sent in my xbox 360 guitar (RMA # xxxxxxxxxx)in to be replaced because of a broken strum bar. I received an empty box for a PS3 guitar. The packing list description says there should be one Xbox 360 Guitar (product number 158711). It shipped from 24450 Glendale, Redford, MI 48239. I hope this issue can be resolved promptly, I will have waited for over a month with no guitar for my awesome game. Thanks for your help and I look forward to your reply.

    File Attachments
    • Picture.jpg

Note: that picture attachment was a scanned copy of the packing list.

    They reply:
    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Technical Support.

Since you requested for the Standard Replacement, you will need to use the box to send in your faulty guitar to us. Once we received your faulty item, we will then send you the replacement.

If you have any other questions, then by all means feel free to let us know. You can also refer to our extensive Self Help Knowledgebase at http://support.ea.com for common technical questions.

    Marlon V.
    EA Technical Support

    Apparently, Marlon, TL;DR eh? :x

So I'll break it down for ya, Marlon V.:
You misunderstood my problem. My problem is:

I requested a RMA box for my XBOX 360 guitar.

    I got the box.

I put my broken XBOX 360 guitar in the box then mailed it via UPS.

    I waited.

I received an empty PLAYSTATION 3 box.

I look at the packing list (see attachment) and it specifically says that it's a 5 pound box that includes an XBOX 360 guitar.

Now I'm pretty much screwed because you guys sent me an empty PLAYSTATION 3 box with a packing list that says that it was an ACCURATE shipment of the guitar I SHOULD have received. I hope this issue can be resolved promptly.

    Thank you,

    Chris

Yeah, I know, kind of an asshole response but seriously, it'll have been a month and a half before they get this all straightened out and like I pointed out, IF they even believe me and my word over their shipping department.

    Sigh.:|

I feel your pain, i've been going through the same thing...save that i've done it TWICE. no shit. Called them about receiving the empty box, and after a conversation similar to your email reply, explaining that i had ALREADY sent my guitar in, they say ok, and set up a new RMA...what did i get this time? ANOTHER EMPTY BOX. This time i refused the shipment, as it was obvious the box was empty again. Called again and was told by the girl i talked to that all the boxes that went out on the 26th must have been empty, because i was the 5th or 6th call she'd taken about getting an empty box that day. Waiting to see what i get this time.

Ok, question about online play: When you join a group, do you have all songs available or only songs that someone has unlocked? I have unlocked everything, so I see everything anyways. I ask, becasue I kept getting with people who would scroll down to the bottom and then look around listening before choosing (like they didn't know the songs), then I would spend the whole song saving Overdrive to save their butts (and they were on easy most of the time).

It seems like good folks don't stick around long, but inexperienced folks stay on for hours :)

I am saddened at all of the talk of online here, since I know most of you folks are 360, and I can't join ya.

Also, on the PS3, do you get any kind of points for playing online?

Really? Then why the heck do this morons keel trying to play Enter Sandman and Highway Star, so I am forced to basically listen to the Bass track the whole song, because they can't play the guitar and drums? I think I killed some people on "Flirtin' With Disaster" last night. We were like "oh shit there goes the guitarist" and then "oh man the drummer is gone again." After we have a shitty performance I like to bring up our spirits with something slower. I think I was playing with some defective equipment last night at my friend's house. I have a few hunches.

For one, on the guitar I was playing, the whammy bar wanked out and turn into a limp dick.

While I was playing some songs on guitar, I kept missing notes, namely notes in quick succession like in In Bloom. Of course, I double strum, so to test the strum bar, I played all notes while downstrumming for awhile and made quite a few stumbles. Then I played upstrumming and didn't miss a beat. Therefore, I conclude that the guy's strum bar is also fucked up, but I didn't mention this because the whammy bar was already broken and he was planning to send it back, and I didn't want to sound like some guy who was all pissy because he wasn't doing good.

Also, it felt like I was hitting the drum parts correctly, but sometimes it missed a note when I really felt that I hit it.

I was hoping you would go with some of the DLC when we played the other day. :) Sorry my headset still isn't working, I need to screw around with the adapters because I can't get any of it working on my drumset. And your emo singer has inspired me to make an emo guitarist and drummer solely to use online -- much better than my emo singer.

I've only been the leader a few times, but when looking through the list I generally pick whatever DLC shows up as an option -- I figure that if we all have the song, we must like it because we paid extra money to buy it, so everyone will be happy. So far I've bought the Metallica pack, the Police pack, Little Sister, Jukebox Hero, Fortunate Son, The Kill, Attack, Song on a Mission and Move Along.

EDIT: And fuck, how could I forget Buddy Holly, My Iron Lung and I Fought the Law? It's amazing that I've already bought 16 pieces of DLC for this freaking game.

I have both of those, along with the Metallica and Bowie packs, Gimmie Three Steps (a new favorite), Limelight, Bang-a-Gong (I hate the guitar on this track, bass and drums are fun though), and Move Along (yes, I'm a DLC whore).

As for the pro guitar thing, I also don't like that a whole lot. Granted, I will sometimes request Highway Star or Train Kept A Rollin', only because I really like those songs (especially Train, I feel like a badass riping through 4-5 solos in one song I was in the top 100 on it too, for awhile) and I can play them pretty well.

The drums on the Police pack are a complete blast to play on Expert. A drummer friend of mine really loves Police in general and now I'm starting to see why. I'm going to look at vids of the new DLC today, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy Limelight because I love the Rush tracks I've heard in GH2 and RB. Plus I don't know Rush outside of the game context, so any vocal discrepancy from Geddy Lee just bounces right off of me. :)

Yeah when we started making a band, we went with stoner hippies. But the clothing selection was too limited. My sister is a spaz with clothing choices so we did Metal themed band. But that band was her on Vocals and me on Drums and we kinda had issues with her singing and me being tethered to Medium.
Our main band ended up with the emo theme mainly because it's funny as hell and my sister has spent 5 times more on clothing than I have.

My singer used to have a big black teardrop tatoo that would always make me laugh whenever I'd glance at it midsong so I had to remove it. :|

Is it just me that thinks the overall quality of the sound is so much better than in GH3? Some songs sound really good. I have a pretty basic 5.1 surround sound system and I was amazed the first time I played Roxanne. There was a certain crispness and clarity to the sound that made everything even more enjoyable.

I live in Canada so I didn't expect to see this for a couple of months at least. I grabbed my copy and stood there with a stupid smile on my face as I watched the walmart employee play drums.

I was there about 10 minutes, and in that time, about 4 360 versions, and 2 PS3 versions were bought. I asked the lady at the counter when I bought it how long they had it, and she said they had literally put them out on the floor 20 minutes before.

    Totally lucked out.

Anyways, what songs do I need to download to be hip?

EDIT: Oh shit, I just saw that there is a Queens of the Stone Age pack with 3 amazing songs. Totally have to fill up the Billy Bucks tonight.

    Guys, thought.

This game needs Money for Nothing by the Dire Straits. It needs it bad.

Yes. Yes, it does. It also needs Sultans of Swing and Lady Writer, but I'll take what I can get, dammit.
