Arikado, I have all that DLC except for queens of the stone age but I might get that today. If you want me to play with you guys just toss me an invite, only issue is I am a cheap bastard and dont have drums.
Also my disc got scratched during my new years party so the killers song craps out on me and is "unreadable".

The new Killers disc really is a great album. You can't tell me that "When You Were Young," isn't one of the best walls of sound you've heard in the 00s.

This happened to my friend on New Year's Eve. Our vocalist was really drunk and knocked over the mic stand...right on top of the 360. They had just gotten the game for Christmas, too.
Protip: Guitar/Bass players, when a 'big rock ending' comes up, use your strumming hand to wail on the solo buttons on the Strat and pound on the frets with your other hand. Since the solo buttons are color + strum, you'll get more points from doing this with the frets. The longer rock endings for us yield well over 10k points now.
My sister has worn out her nail doing this. She now plays with fingered gloves for this reason.
Back on topic, how long does Endless Setlist take to complete? My sister and I are looking at trying it out but if it takes too long we might just wait until the weekend.
It took me and my roommate around four and an half hours to complete on expert guitar and bass. I highly recommend you do it on expert lest you feel the need to go through the Endless Setlist again. You'll get all the achievements in one shot. Make sure you have the time and stamina to do it before you start.
I got it 2 days ago, I'm assuming the futureshop return policy covers this where it says that if you're not satisfied with your purchase for any reason you can take it back within 30 days. Video games, DVDs and CDs can only be returned for the same product.
I only got the disc so taking it back shouldn't be a problem of them being like "this isn't the whole product".

Yeah well first my friends need to actually get up to Expert ability.

Yeah we were gonna hit it on Sunday but we were like "wow there's a bunch of people online" and just stayed on LIVE all night.
I figure since she can knock down Expert Bass on pretty much everything and I can manage 4-5 stars on Hard Vocals, I should be ok to upgrade to Expert Vocals on it.
Either way, all we need to worry about is just beating the songs, not 5starring them. Right?

Yeah. You just need to complete the songs. I'm not sure what happens if you fail a song. My guess is you get to restart it from the beginning of the song and not the beginning of the Setlist. That would just be cruel of Harmonix to do.
Regarding the Killers, I think whoever does their song writing has some real talent. They have made many very good songs. The band itself is above average, but not awesome. Most of their albums are overproduced and undersung. A stronger singer (more emotional range) along with reigning in the band to keep them from getting too loud when they should be quieter would produce some really special music. As it is, it is decent to good music, not GREAT music.
The cover that Marty Casey did on rockstar inxs of Mr. Brightside was spot on what that song should have been vocally. I have heard other covers of their works that have blown away the originals as well.
They remind me of smashing pumpkins in that way. Some really inspired material, performed/arranged at a very average level.
This is why I love covers so much I guess. I love hearing a GREAT band's take on the truly awesome songs in this world, but too often those GREAT bands instead just play average to shitty original music. It is so rare to get a great band combined with great material.

I usually try not to argue about music in this thread, but that made me throw up a little in my mouth
So two days ago I wasn't able to beat Go With the Flow on Hard drums. Today I did it first try. Then I beat Detroit Rock City first try. Then I got through the drum solo on (Don't Fear) The Reaper and was feeling cocky...
I had no idea that end section was so hard. Failed at 91%. Fuck.

Seriously how is that a "wall of sound"
I feel the same way, I hate "When You Were Young" almost as much as I hate U2 (a lot).
On a side note, RB technically came out here 2 weeks ago and EB still hasn't got a single PS3 copy to fill their pre-orders... this entire release has been 100% bullshit from day one.
Hey, if you complete a solo tour on one difficulty, do you get the achievements for completing it on lower difficulties, too? Or is it still cruel and forces you to play through the whole damn thing on easy?

No. You get the lower difficulty achievements if you beat the game on a higher one.

They do give you the ones for the lower difficulties when you clear a higher one.
I cleared out all the Guitar tours in one shot by clearing expert first. I like it when programmers do stuff like that.

Oh hey, another Rush cover. Better than nothing though. Maybe they don't have the masters to Moving Pictures anymore, being that it's 27 years old.
Also, waiting for my new drum pedal is quite frustrating -- nearly 2 weeks and not even shipped yet. I'd hate to see how long the traditional method takes, if this is "express."
I fail that Molly Hacket song every time on Hard. I get to solo at the end and fail after blowing my starpower about midway through the solo. Anyone have any tips on this song? I can beat the rest of hard, and half the songs on expert. :0 Damn you all that say the guitar is too easy.

Hating on the Killers aside.
I'm in Edmonton too and I just got my Rockband bundle today with no pre-order at all. If you don't mind a 20 minute drive, they have 360 and PS3 versions at the Walmart in Spruce Grove. There were only about 5 PS3 versions that I saw, but they only got put out on the floor about 2-3 hours ago.
Question: If an album is "remastered", doesn't it stand to reason that they have the master tracks?
Because all of my Rush albums are "Rush Remastered" editions.
Something might of happen to the master tracks sometime between then and now. It could be the label somehow lost track of it, another vault has it, the artist has it and lost it, someone isn't willing to give it up, or something else.
I know the Violent Femmes "lost" their master tracks for some of their songs ("Kiss Off" I think) so when they released a "Best of..." cd, they had to put in a live recording of it rather than the main track.
The CD case has a comment on it about it and how they've asked people to help locate the master track. Kind of funny.

I found the guitar to be just about perfect. I've been playing GH for about a year now, I'm pretty good, and I feel I should be able to pick up all but the very hardest songs and play them through out of the gate on Expert without failing. And so far, the only one I can't pass is GG&HT. My only complaint, and it's a wee one, is that the difficulty gap between that and any other song is ginormous. I'm not even close to being able to get through the second solo on that song, whereas every other song I can get through without having to resort to star power.
Most of the challenge, for me, comes from trying to master the harder songs, not just pass them, and I like that.

And to you people complaining about The Killers, Fall Out Boy, etc...they aren't the best bands, but you better not be the kind of people that are quick to defend shit bands like the Ramones being on here.
As much as I don't like Fall Out Boy and only so-so like The Killers, "When You Were Young" and "Dead On Arrival" are both far better than drivel like "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "Rockaway Beach". Repetitive chords (yes, even more repetitive than the two aforementioned), idiotic lyrics...the drums are fun, but that's really all you can defend it with.
Fall Out Boy at least has a decent solo in there, and I'll take lyrics like "I'm writing you a chorus, so here is your verse" over nonsense like "The kids are losing their mind, the Blitzkrieg Bop" and "Rock Rock Rockaway Beach Rock Rock Rockaway Beach Rock Rock Rockaway Beach Rock Rock Rockaway Beach Rock Rock Rockaway Beach Rock Rock Rockaway Beach Rock Rock Rockaway Beach Rock Rock Rockaway Beach We can hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach".
The lyrics to 95% of all songs ever made are complete swill. Most popular songs are popular because of the instrumentation and the melody, not because of Shakespearian lyrics.

And I understand this, and it isn't a problem. But at least lyrics can sometimes be a saving grace to a bad band. The Ramones cannot say this.

Well, my discussion earlier about Pat Boone's masterful cover album In a Metal Mood has prompted me to temporarily retire my LeChuck avatar, for something a little more masculine.
Fear the Boone!
Also, I join ElJeffe in my hatred of the second solo on GG&HT, it's much like Freebird from GH2, only shittier. It gets quite boring and tedious hammering out the same series of tripplets for a minute solid, then have a 10 second break, then do the same thing for a minute straight in second position.

On the upside, you only need to master two or three different finger techniques to get past the evil parts. While I respect a song like Hanger 18 (which I never conquered on Expert) for the variety, it's a lot more daunting, because once you master one five second bit, that pretty much only gets you to another ridiculously difficult bit. If I really cared, I could probably sit down and practice for 30 minutes and finish GG&HT. I just don't care to, because there're four dozen other awesome songs I could be playing. As it stands, I'll just play on Hard whenever I encounter that song, and Expert completion can remain my pie in the sky.
edit: Also, I really like GG&HT, aside from the 3 or 4 sections that go on forever. The main riff is fun, and the first solo is bad-ass.
