ROCK BAND: Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home
Posts
I managed to get to it on expert drums. My leg basically ran out of juice. So many bas notes. So many minutes. It was horrible...
Paranoid and Vasoline are both also very horrid. Paranoid with the bass pedal notes and Vasoline with...well, being complicated.
I want to know what is coming out this week. I also want it to be liquid awesome. Is there going to be an announcement on Monday or just an abrupt posting on Tuesday?

This radio station is doing some super long year end countdown of basically non-stop awesome bands from the 60s to 90s and a lot of them would be sweet.
Nope that's how the strum bar actually feels. Kinda blows.
Vasoline expert on drums is pretty hard, I had to bail my buddy out with my overdrive twice on it.
On expert guitar its a joke though.
I beat Maps on Expert thanks to the in game animation.
In the last thread, someone posted the video of Maps - Drums Expert and I wanted to try it for hilariousness sake. I got through most of it, but could not figure out how to do the trip notes. My body would just go totally nuts when those came up if I tried to hit them. So I would just ignore them and see how long I could get in maps, to the amusement of my friends.
Then, when playing with the band, we did a random song set and I got maps. Since I do random sets on medium (after having ride the lightning on hard...), I was ready to sleep through most of it. I knew the notes by heart and actually started watching the drummer and saw him use the left hand to hit the middle notes of the trips. The whole song clicked right then and there.
Anyone else have any other epiphanies like that?
It's frustrating because I can pretty much sleep through every song on medium, but I just get murdered on hard.
Do... Re... Mi... So... Fa.... Do... Re.... Do...
Forget it...
I dunno.
Don't slide to the orange note. Keep your index finger on red, and slide your index up to green when necessary. It's much easier than sliding your pinkie down.
It was a bit of an adventure actually. My friends and I called the local Future Shop about an hour after it opened. They said they had three left, so we ran over there (only about a 10 minute walk) and stormed in. There was only one sitting there. We were about to rock paper scissors for it, but then we saw that one of our friends was working that day. He said there were three more in the back, something the other employees were withholding from us. He smuggled them out for us just as some other guy snapped up the one on the floor. All four boxes left the store in about five minutes.
So yeah, it's fucking awesome, just as I expected from Harmonix. I'm done the Expert guitar tour and about halfway through the Hard drum tour and loving every minute of it. Now if they get Band World Tour online, I will be on fucking cloud nine.
Rock Band DLC

Haven't heard anything about it, but I still live in fear of waking up one day, turning on Rock Band and being denied my X-plorer use.
I will let out a "NOOOO" that makes Darth Vader seem like a giant pussy.
cheap: use a rubber band to permanently push in the green key and keep four finger on the rest of the four.

Boo-Fucking-Urns.
Actually, I don't believe it was specifically modelled after me... At some part during the testing, though, I saw this prefab and it was like looking in a mirror somewhat... I would have to let the hair on my head grow out a lot more, but I have been known to look like a lumberjack at times.
My credits pic, sadly, was taken just after the beard got back from vacation. I've forbidden it from ever going on vacation again, 'cause... well... you never know when your next rock photo shoot is going to happen.
Doing that just makes it Different-Medium as you would still be using just 4 frets. Also, chords.
I had a lot of trouble going from Medium to Hard as well. What got me through it was keeping my fingers focused on the lower four frets (red through orange) as much as possible. It's much easier to reach for the green fret with your index finger than to reach for the orange one with your pinky.
Sometimes orange notes are rare so practice switching from upper-four to lower-four. If you see orange notes coming don't just reach for them as they come, but move your hand down until the orange notes stop or lots of green comes.
Also try never using your pinky to help get used to moving your hand around a lot, as you will ultimately need to do so for Hard and Expert.
I'll even sing now and then and promise not to transmit while I do it.
What I'm saying is someone should RB it up with me sometime.
However, there's some new years party somewhere and I'm taking Rock Band with me over there.
Not so much for the people there, more so for me to not die of boredom.
I had a very difficult transition into hard mode on Guitar Hero figuring that out.
I can jump in on drums if we get a guitarist.

Welcome Home
But yeah, I can't hop on RB online atm but feel free to add me or whatnot or lemme know your tag. I'm all for the rockin' out.
I'm going to a friend's house for New Year's Eve and taking Rock Band with me. I'm guessing I'm not the only one here who is doing that.
I like the feel of the new guitar but I'm still getting used to the different strum bar.
silver =/= online play.

If you just got online today, you haven't used your free month of gold yet. Join up, and if you decide it's worth it after that (you will), fork out the dough.
However, that offer won't be good for the next few days while my broken guitar gets RMA'd. So for now i'll be trying to plow through solo drum career. Vocals come next.
I got mine at FS in Nepean the other day. I made a post in here saying that there were a few left but I guess you didn't see it.
I hate emo. Not as music but as a label. Emo is one of those labels that have nothing to do with anything. If their was Emo music there is not, now, at least none that I have seen. Its a label used by people who arn't into the music of today or only some of it. Its a label as stupid as Pop-Punk but with even less barring in reality.
When did it become bad that music could be depressing? Yeah Emo is supposedly "whinny" but someone just called Nirvana Emo none of it is whinny. Even other bands labeled "emo" lack anys sort of whine "Fall Out boy" is as often happy as it is sad and less troubled as it can be sarcastic. "Panic at the disco"(both of which are something more like dance rock" is nearly always up-beat. And My Chemical Romance is more angry than anything.
Not that any of those bands are emo just mistakingly called emo an awful lot.

For three days straight I have been playing nothing but that song and I ALWAYS die at 97%.
However, shit = emo is not always a truth. This is a hard-to-grasp concept.

I'm down for this. The only DLC I lack is "NIB", "Sweet Leaf", "Next to You", "Brass in Pocket" and "Joker and the Thief".
Oh and the new godawful stuff.
EDIT: I'm down for this on guitar. Meaning we have a guitarist and bassist. Any vocalists or drummers wanna join?
Well, Live is down for the moment for me but whenever I do get online I can play.
