Quicktime fucks up my browser

Whenever I try to load a quicktime video on my laptop in Firefox or IExplorer, they both crash. This is bothersome for movie trailers.

Anyone know what I should do? I'm on a Dell Vostro 1500 with a GeForce 8400 GS.

    i had some issues i think with the most recent version, it gave me the BSOD right after in updated
