Which Wii Game? The Sequel

So for those who didn't see the first threat, I was torn on whether to buy Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, or Battalion Wars 2. Now I've played both, and another problem has arisen.

The night I rented Metroid I played through the tutorial part and hated it. However, the next day I spent some time on the first "real" level, and enjoyed myself. However, it isn't quite one I would buy right now. Problem solved, right? Wrong.

I rented Battalion Wars 2, and absolutely love it. At the time of this post, I am just starting the Tundra Territories campaign. For those of you who have played it, you'll realize this means I am on the last campaign. For those of you who have played Battalion Wars 2, what kind of replay does it have? On several campaigns, the first missions I played I recieved terrible rankings, and enjoyed playing them again to get better. Likewise, there are missions I enjoyed so much I can see myself playing again just to try a different angle, or simply to enjoy them again. However, I am not sure how long this love would last, and if my money could be better spent elsewhere. Just for the record, I do not have WiFi to play multiplayer.

Normally I would get Battalion Wars regardless, since it is the only game I'd want. But there are also games out there, such as Tomb Raider: Anniversary, that I think would be great as well (Tomb Raider 4 for the PC was the first game I liked enough to beat in a long time).

So the question is threefold: For those who have played Battalion Wars 2, how long does the charm/replayability factor last? Anyone played Tomb Raider for the Wii, and how was it? And finally, any other games I should be looking at? I have Zelda and Mario: Galaxy already. Thanks.

    Zack and Wiki!

I got this game for Christmas and I loved it.

I haven't played Metroid or Batallion Wars 2 though.

Sorry to not directly answer your questions, but I missed your last thread. Why do you need to buy a game now anyway? You have already almost beaten the one you enjoy, the other you did not like, and one you could probably rent and check out as well.

Unless you have to due to some crazy circumstance, wait until another game you like comes out. Or blow money on the VC?

As far as BW2 will go, it will probably be standard fare. Quickplay battles against AI over and over again. If that is your thing, you would like it.

I liked Prime 3, but really didn't care for the really poorly done plot/character writing. Also the way each planet is reduced to a two square mile chunk of terrain always bugs me.

I just got the Wii Zapper and the pack-in is a lot of fun, but it's short. Good for replay value though, and if you have a friend with the zapper there's some fun to be had in multiplayer.

If you haven't tried Super Paper Mario, you might want to. I really, really enjoyed it. Resident Evil 4 for the Wii is a tonne of fun too. I'd never played it before so it was an amazing deal for me. If you've beaten it before it's still pretty damned cool with the new control scheme but it might be less necessary as a purchase.

I found Zack and Wiki to be okay.

Elebits is fun, but kind of undercooked. Neat play mechanic, though.

Also Umbrella Chronicles is either awesome or crap depending on how much you like 90s light gun games. It's very much an homage to the rail based light gun shooters of old, and that's either good or bad depending on your tastes.

Not even considering Mario Galaxy or was that addressed in the first thread? I'm really enjoying it so far but much like every other wii game: it is waaaay to easy. Not quite as easy as Zelda was, but I really enjoy a game where I die at least reasonably often...

As for BWii I think that it does have a pretty high replay value... I haven't even beaten the game yet and I have had it for a while, mainly because I have been trying to go back and beat each level perfectly because it is just that much fun to play the levels... the multiplayer isn't anything to be too sad about missing though... the way wii handles multiplayer is just so awkward.... sigh....

Yeah Mario Galaxy was my first and only purchase for the Wii and really . . .it's just too easy. I need a little bit of a challenge, I only play Galaxy to relax or when i'm drunk and that's not exactly a good thing.

Despite those factors it really is a fantastic game.

Super Mario Galaxy actually has a lot of extremely challenging aspects to it. The thing to realize is that there are 121 stars. You only need like 60 to complete the story and rescue the princess. Many of those are hidden, and many of them are very difficult race levels, speed runs, and the like. You'd be astounded at the precision required to get a lot of the stars.

When you really get into it, you quickly realize that it's the best $50 you could possibly spend after buying a Wii.

I totally agree Dizaster, I was playing it last night and I'm only like 23 stars into the game but the first ghost run prankster comet really rocked me for a bit. Also
not sure if this is a spoiler but the galaxy where you have to jump on the ball and roll around using the wiimote.... damn that required some accuracy!

Although the OP mentions that he already has this game.

Umbrella Chronicles is Frikin sweet! and its not only hard if you play the higher modes but it has replay in the finding of files but that does depend on how much you like the resi universe, myself I've only played RE-make for gamecube and RE4 but i love the storys just not the 'how much fuckin slower could i run...' aspect.
