Nah, I had one accident that lead to an Archangel or Power - I forget which. That was an irritance, but a Loki with high/severe damage skills in three out of four elements was fantastic.

Loki is actually the only fusion I've managed to get all four elements on. All the -dyne spells and electric boost.

I kinda vaguely suspected it because of the striped shirt, which immediately made me associate him with Pharos when the girl mentioned him. But then as I saw him in person the idea subsided for a while

I'd like to see a game where the player is like a second conscience to the main character. Remember FFVIII's Laguna flashbacks? Something like that. I feel that there is a certain sense of abstraction when you have a character in the game. Not that I mind it, of course, but I'd like to see someone breaking the fourth wall thoroughly. Earthbound kinda did it by acknowledging your existence.

I'm mentioning this in this thread because I believe that the SMT folk are amongst the only people who can really pull it off.

Baten Kaitos did that, the player character was very much aware of the player as a guardian spirit. Contact did it too, though in contact while a secondary character, the professor, knew of your existence the player character was completely unaware of being your puppet. In both games this was used as a basis for pretty big plot twists later on.

So I beat DDS1 last night.
Pretty kick ass game. Angel wasn't as tough as I hoped, but her final form looked so fuckawesome that it pretty much made up for it. I was pretty meh on DDS when I first started; everything seemed so plain compared to P3 (my first SMT game) and the lack of personality threw me off at first. The plot was decent but I missed the interaction of social links and the flexability of the fusion system. Besides, Sera was annoying (olol amnesia!).

What finally won me over was the fairytale castle dungeon. By that time I had advanced far enough on the mantra grid to branch out a bit, which made combat much more interesting, but more than that the subtle creepiness of the place just got to me. Maybe I'm just a sucker for ominious foreshadowing, but I have to say that that was probably one of the best dungeons in any RPG I've played.

Overall, I finished in just about 23 hours, with the final 7 coming from a caffiene fueled marathon run of the final dungeon that ended at 4:30 in the morning when I finally beat the damn thing and then sank into a kind of jittery sleep, fighting off the after effects of way too much coca-cola while visions of a black sun danced before my eyes. Needless to say, I had some strange dreams last night. God, I can't wait to play the second one.

Speaking of strange dreams, I dreamt last night of the P4 english dub. And it was horrible.

And I remembered someone saying the word moé, and saying it wrongly. Very wrongly.

DDS2 is, for a big chunk of it, one of the most depressing games I've ever played.
Everyone dies. Sometimes multiple times. D:

Speaking of depressing, I just maxed out the Sun S. Link in P3.
Did I just spend ten sundays talking to a ghost?
My theory is that he died just before the last meeting; he was alive before that. But I don't know; I don't get how that part really fits with the rest of the game's theme and mythology anyway. But then, I don't see the robot girl correlation either.
I'm tempted to go with that idea, too, but then again his silver hair (which I think is a sign of something being supernatural in Japanese culture?) could lend support to him being dead from the start, or dying at any point throughout the social link.

I do see how it fits into the overall theme, though. It's about him coming to terms with how short his life is compared to others, and how our impact on others may mean more than anything we personally get out of life. I'm just about to fight the 12th Shadow, so I'm not certain if there are any more twists coming, but so far time and what we do with it seems to be the predominant theme of the game for me.

Aigis is possibly a bit out of place, too, but she seems to represent some kind of point about what it means to be human. If something looks human, acts human, and thinks like a human (and given how readily the staff and pupils of Gekkoukan accept her, she's probably a very good facsimile), then why would we not call it human?
Oh, I get the meaning, I just question its feasibility in the Persona 3 universe. That is, the only "fantasy" elements are an alternate, shadowy reality where one's emotions can manifest as helpful or malevolent monsters. It's not like Dungeons and Dragons, where there are so many types of magic, dragons, elves, etc. that suspenesion of disbelief gets maintained easily. I'm just saying I don't know how ghosts work in the Personaverse.

So let me ask a question.

Let's say I 100% the persona compendium before FES comes out and complete the game once (one cycle, no new game+).

I should be able to import:

    - MAX Charm, Academics, and Courage.
    - All items and equipment that aren't consumable items, like medicines and homonculi? (fuzzy on this)
    - All KEY items.
    - My entire persona compendium, meaning all persona.but at their default stats and skills.

    Is that true?

If so, isn't that an exceptionally ideal situation? You basically have a 100% noiseless persona compendium. Which should make getting ideal persona with ideal skills easier, no?

I just had a look at Lucifer and holy hell, talk about overpowered! I can't wait until I hit the required level to fuse him. I also fucked up with my Thanatos fusion and made him with Null Light and Die for Me! but forgot to include Mudo boost into the mix. :P I'm currently at 1/1, 2009 and things have really started to heat up. Although I have to say that

I have to say that I've revised my opinion regarding Ken, he's pretty useful since having a weakness to Mudo isn't quite the ballbuster it was in Nocturne. But I really wish that he could put on something else than those goddamn shorts. FES better have some proper pants for him as optional clothing..

Koromaru is really decent as well, although do he ever

Really? I'm a fan of SMT's angels, so I've normally got the hama skills covered - right now I've got both Raphael and Uriel in my line-up, for example. Plus, Nocturne and DDS instilled a fear of mudo in me. But if he's not actually that bad, I may reconsider.

Feels a bit weird throwing a (really young) kid at demons, though.

Hell, I've seen Ken survive a Mudoon, which would never have happened in Nocturne. He's also sporting a pretty nice selection of Zio, Hama and Dia skills which makes him a very well rounded character. It didn't exactly hurt that the majority of spears I've found have at least Charm (Medium) on them as well.
