So I'm really interested in mafia games. And I'm also interested in free mmogs. So I was looking some up when I came upon Omerta Online.

The website made the game sound interesting, you can break guys out of jail, start your own family, rip of casinos, buy cars, run booze, and hijack trucks that are transporting money. You start of weak, but eventually you can become the strongest enforcer in all of Sicily or the U.S Now I don't have a lot of information on this game because the manual is down, and there are no screenshots to speak of because there aren't any, but I figured at least some people would be willing to try it out and we can learn together.
Creating a character
Registration is easy, you just put in what what you called, your email adress, and then you start. You're randomly given a starter city. Now the graphics aren't the greatest in the game, but the game is primarily text based. Don't expect anything like the other game penny arcade used to play last year, i forget the name.

Before you make a ticket, make sure you have read the rules of the ticket system.
Bank
The bank can be used for 3 things: transfer money to and from your bank account, transfer money to your family bank account or transfer money to other members of the game.
When transferring money, please note that there is a transfer fee of 10%. This means if you send $111 for example, the receiver will only get $100.
On this page you will also be able to see the last 10 transfers from and to other users in the game.
If you put money on your bank, you´ll get interest over the amount of money that´s left on your bank after 24 hours. In the meanwhile you can take money off your bank, but you won´t be able to put money on it, without taking everything off first. Otherwise it will mess up the interest
Shop/Market
There are various items which can be bought in the shop:
You can buy guns, to arm yourself against possible enemies. You will need a gun to shoot the bottle and to be able to kill other players.
You can buy protection like a bulletproof suit, to protect you from your fellow gangsters in the game. The more protection you buy, the harder it will be to get killed. Other ways of getting protection are hiring bodyguards, and buying villas. But please note: When you buy a villa in a certain city, the protection you gain from that villa only counts for that city. Also bodyguards can die! protecting you and in backfire, and will need to be rehired
If you are hunted down by other gangsters, a good but expensive option might be to hide in a safe house. You can buy yourself time in a safe house, where nobody can hurt you even a little bit. One of the downsides is that you won't be able to play or even communicate within the game. There is a maximum of 9 hours and 15 minutes in the safe house. If you leave the Safehouse you cant re-enter it for an hour.
The last items which can be bought at the shop are airplanes. Airplanes allow you to travel across the ocean, instead of over land by train. Airplanes will become more expensive, as their travel time decreases.
Travel
Travelling is used for different purposes: running away from someone that is trying to kill you, doing booze or narcotics runs, going to a location for Organized crimes, going to a fellow gangster to do a Heist, or possibly a race match against a friend! When travelling you will also gain a little rank progress and health points.
City Maps
Here you can see an overview of the city map you’re in. The map might seem weird and unrealistic, but it is a first attempt of an actual location. Each spot on this map represents a HQ for a capo-regime, and each spot has place for 25 people. If you hover your mouse over a spot it will give you information on:
The spot number:
This number is different for every spot.
The owner:
Will represent the name of the owner of the object which is in the spot (note: This option will be developed further in the game, and is yet of no use)
The capo:
The name of the capo who owns the spot or *NONE* if still available
The family:
The family of the capo of that spot (if there is one)
Planning Permission:
The city council has set up usage plans for every spot (note: This option will be developed further in the game, and is yet of no use)
If the capo spot has been filled, you will see a colored box with a "D" if this capo spot is owned by the Don of a certain family. A "C" is just a regular capo. If you click on a spot you will go to a page with more details on the spot. For more information about city maps and the family system, please read Families.
Local Bulletfactory
The local bullet factories are owned by the local mob.
The local mafia bring out their bullets every 1 or 2 minutes. The price that they are available for is completely random, but it would be between 250 and 750 dollars.
You can only buy your bullets in this factory once an hour and the maximum amount you can buy is 400 bullets.
Detectives
Killing is not easy. When you want to whack a fellow gangster, the first thing you will have to do is hire some detectives to go look for him.
Doing so is quite easy: just fill in the name of the person you want to find, the amount of detectives that should look for your target in a city and for how long (1 to 5 hours), then click on hire. Soon you will have a net of detectives spread out over the cities the detectives were hired in trying to find that guy or gal you want to kill.
When the detectives find your target, you will get a message in your inbox. The best thing to do is to travel as soon as possible to the place where that dude is hiding. If you are too slow, the bird may be lost.
If a detective has found your victim, he will follow him in the same city for two hours.
Kill
Easy as hell, first find your target with a detective, go to the city where he or she is hiding, aim, and pull the trigger.
There is a maximum of 60.000 bullets though. And be careful, he might have backfire power and get you killed as well.
The victim can shoot back twice as hard as you did, if he has got that many bullets (remember that for backfire there is also a maximum of 60.000 bullets you can fire).
When you kill someone, you will receive all his cash money. Beside this, killing a fellow gangster will also give you kill skill.
The more kill skill you have, the easier killing will get! You will however only receive kill skill if you shoot a minimum of 500 bullets, and if your target isn't more than 1 rank under yours.
You cannot kill users that are more than 2 ranks above your rank, and you are not able to shoot Omerta crew members. Omerta crew members do not play the game, so killing them is not an option.
Bloodbank
You will need this, to repair your health status:
If some gangster decides to shoot you
You have had a bad heist
If you have crashed during a race
You can only use the bloodbank every 45 minutes
Hitlist
Scared of getting killed by backfire or don't have the bullets?
Or maybe you don't want other people to know that you want someone dead?
Then the hitlist is a great option. Just place the player on the hitlist for a reasonable amount of money and wait untill he gets shot.
You can add a person anonymously but note that an anonymous hitlist will cost you 25% more. If you kill someone who is on the hitlist you will receive the money in cash. To buy someone off the list it will take you twice as much money as the victim was hitlisted for.
even hitlisting someone anonymously will have a risk. It is possible to find out who hitlisted a person by paying a large amount. It is not allowed to make a dupe-account in order to hitlist someone without people knowing who you really are. This will result in a kill/punishment and removal of the person hitlisted.
Pillory
The pillory is also known as The Hall of Shame.
Being here is the worst thing you can imagine as a gangster. People can throw tomatoes at these bastards for $ 5.000 a piece. They will lose health (1%) for every tomato thrown at them. If they have no health left they will die from just one simple tomato, and the lucky gangster that has thrown the fatal tomato will receive the cash!
only crewmembers can put someone on the pillory and they will not do it on request.
Jail
The place you will be in a lot, especially in the beginning. In the jail page you can try to bust someone out. Ways to end up in jail are:
Trying to smuggle booze or narcotics
Getting caught doing a crime
Getting arrested when nicking a car
Getting very unlucky while doing a heist
Getting very unlucky while doing a mega oc
Failing to bust someone out of jail (only godfathers and firstladies can bust people out without ending up in jail)
When you are in jail, it is possible to break yourself out. But watch out: if you get caught trying to break out of jail, you will have to do even more time!
Car races
To try your luck on the car races, just invite one or more people to race with you. You can do a practice race, a race for money or for the cars in the race. Because of your desire to win, your car will always be damaged after a race. After winning a race you will gain race form, 0.5 for every person you won from. Your raceform will go down after some time and when you lose a race. To keep your raceform high it´s important to keep racing, and winning!
racing for money will mean that all cars in the race will be lost.
Matrimonial
A link to the wedding and divorce options. To get married you, your wife/husband and your witnesses will need a minimum rank of mobster. If you are male you can propose to the woman you love, through this option. If you are a female, you can turn on or off, whether you would like to accept wedding proposals or not. To be able to marry you both need a villa in the city where the marriage will take places. Costs of the wedding vary from $250.000 till $2.500.000. You need 2 witnesses for the matrimonial , they can give you also wedding gifts.
Inbox
Any messages sent to you will be send to your inbox. To notify you that you have a message in your inbox, you will see a mail box on the top of your screen. Clicking on it will lead you to your inbox. Keep in mind there is a maximum amount of messages you can store in your inbox, depending on your donating status!
Chat
In the Chat section you will find an easy to use chat applet for connecting to our IRC server.
Using this is very useful if you want to get in touch with fellow gangsters to do an organized crime, a heist, a race or whatever you might want. Besides this: if you want to join a family, IRC is also the place to be, and would improve your chances of getting accepted into a family.
But above all, being on IRC and interacting with fellow gangsters just makes the game more fun! If you have questions about IRC, please join #feds NOT of #help.
If IRC suits your needs, and if it is to your liking, it is advised that you install the program mIRC. This program will have a lot more options than the java applet. If you need help setting up mIRC, please visit this link.NOT WORKING!

Forum
The Forum is for remarks, help, or questions to fellow members about the game. You can also look for heist/oc /race partners on the forum. Make sure you post your messages in the right sub forum, to prevent them from being removed by a crewmember. Note: be careful with posting in the forum. First read and follow the forum rules, if you don't want to be punished by an admin A few basic rules for using the forum:
The only language that can be used in the forum is English! That also counts for the Rip forum and other forum topics!
No racism of any kind!
No numbering games in the News items, like #1 and jiehaa FIRST! and any of those forms that do not have anything to add to the news items and are only there to frustrate the crew and the players that do have something serious to add.
We will not act on every word of fuck, bastard or you telling in a rip forum how much you hate someone etc. This is still a mafia game and we sell drugs and kill people in this game, but think before you post a message. We do act if it is getting too offensive or personal.
1: It is up to the crew to decide what can or can not be posted. If you see any post that you think should be deleted or closed, contact a crew member.
2: If you should post anything that is against any of these rules, you could risk a forum ban, account punish or even an admin kill.
Narcotics
If doing booze runs isn't enough for you, you can also do narcotic runs. Since narcotics are even more dangerous to smuggle, the risk of getting caught by the police is greater in comparison to booze smuggling! Like booze you will get caught alot in the beginning, but it does and will become easier the more you try and rank.Use your status page to learn when you will get rank progress

Booze
Buy some booze and do some bootlegging by traveling from place to place buying and selling booze, for rank progress and profit, this does become easier as you rank, be prepaired to spend time in jail

Crimes
Make some money by starting in the crime business.
At first you will only succeed in stealing lunch money from kindergarten children but give it a few days and you will be able to do most of the crimes without getting caught.
You also have the option of stealing from your fellow players. The profit might be higher than usual, but watch out: stealing from fellow gangster can be quite dangerous, and might result in them coming after you!
You can also try to shoot a bottle to receive some kill skill, without actually having to kill a player.
1: you will have to buy a firearm to be able to shoot a bottle.
2: the percentages you see give you a guideline on what crime option has the biggest chance of succeeding.
Garage
In the garage you can see all the cars you have stolen in the game. Options you have in the garage are:
Seeing extra information about certain cars in your garage
Shipping cars to other cities
Racing with you car
Selling your cars
Repairing your cars
Moving your cars into a safehouse
Crushing cars (when your family has hired a crusher)
Moving your car in a safehouse would mean it cannot be taken away from you by the feds or by other players.
But remember, nothing is without a price!,
This however is useful for cars you might want to use for a heist, an OC (organized crime), or a race. Different cars have different qualities, and one car might be great at using in a race, but perform badly in an OC, while another car has the exact opposite effect.
It's up to the users to find out what to use for what. Think you are up for the challenge?
Route 66 Heist
A route 66 heist is done by 2 people: a leader who starts the route 66 heist and a Driver. The leader and Driver play their own part in a route 66 heist. The Leader can bring a gun and bullets , and the driver brings the car for the getaway. The leader is the one who starts the heist, and invites the driver into the heist. You will notice that you can both earn and lose things with doing a heist, so be careful with keeping money in your pocket while heisting! The minimum rank for a route 66 heist is Shoplifter. If you want to submit a self-written heist scenario, please do so by opening a ticket in the Ticket-System with your suggestion and maybe it will be used as a heist in the future!
Organized Crime
An organized crime is done by 4 people:
A leader who starts the organized crime, but also receives all of the profit (costs for the leader are $25.000)
A weapons expert (He has to finance 1 or 2 Tommy guns ($25.000 a Tommy gun), and between 1 and 100 bullets. The guns will be lost after the Organized Crime)
An explosives expert (He can choose between buying TNT and C4. C4 will cost him $40.000 and TNT just $20.000. With C4 the Organized Crime will have a higher profit than with TNT)
A driver (He needs to put in a car of his in the city the Organized Crime will take place, ideally the best car with no damage)
Every person has his own part in the crime, the leader makes sure there is a safe house to hide in and splits up the money, the weapon expert brings the guns and the bullets, the explosives expert will make sure the safe will be blown up and the driver makes sure you can get to the safe house. Since splitting the money can be quite hard to calculate, here is an unofficial site that will help you with this. The better ranks that are involved in the organized crime and the more money put into the organized crime will make the profit go higher. The minimum rank for an Organized Crime is Thief.
Mega OC
A Mega OC is almost the same as an Organized Crime, but it´s done on a larger scale. Assassins and higher can do a Mega OC once in three days. It has higher risks and bigger profits; you can gain money, get jailed and get injured (you can't die). You will need 8 people instead of 4:
A leader who organizes the crime and receives all of the profits. Costs for the leader are $750.000
Three drivers and one of them should be driving a truck
Three weapon experts, who will lose their gun bought in the shop after a Mega OC.
An Explosives Expert who can choose between EPE, TNT and C4
Not Part Of A Family
If you are not part of a mafia family, it might be worth joining one. A mafia family will provide you with protection, and will help you with any problems you might have. Besides that, in most families you can make use of every car crusher they hire, to convert your cars to bullets. A family will take up to 11% (Depends on the percentage the family wants from their members) from whatever money you make with crimes and cars, but it’s more than worth it. The best way to join a family is to contact them on IRC. Most families have a recruiting channel, which you can find on their family page (see statistics). Best is to study these pages and select the family that fits you best, most will also have some standards you have to meet before you can join.
Family control: panel
The control panel is the most important tool for the family don, his Sottocapo and his Consiglieri.
Options that you can find in this control panel are:
Setting the amount of money members have to pay when leaving the family
Setting the percentage that users will have to pay over their profits
Changing the color of your family (changes colour of the spot on city maps)
The ability to change the families name (this costs an astonishing 100 million dollars)
Changing the promotion money, which users will get when promoting to a higher rank
Hiring a car crusher, so the members can convert their cars into bullets
Sending a message to all the family members at once
Changing the family image (which is shown on the family profile)
Changing the text on the family profile
Assigning several positions in the family. This is an option only the don has. He can assign the:
1. Sotto-capo 2. Consiglieri 3. Successor (He will take the place of the Don, when the Don gets killed.) 4. Hammer (The hammer is the guy you don’t want as your enemy. He receives 1% of every number of bullets people buy at the local mafia, and because of his speciality, he is a lot more dangerous when killing)
Handing over the family to his successor
Selecting whether your family recruits or not. This again is an option only the Don has, and a result would be that the Sotto-capo and the Consiglieri won’t be able to invite anybody into the family. When turned off, the family profile would show that this family is not recruiting at the moment
Inviting other users to the family
Control: Bank
The Don and the Consiglieri are the only ones with access to this panel. Here, you can see who transfered money to the family bank, and to whom money from the family bank was sent. The other option on this page is transfering money from your family bank, to a user. Note: unlike the normal bank, there is a transfer cost of 15% if you want to take money of the family bank.
Manage Users:
This is an option that only the Don and the Sotto-Capo have. The options you will have in this menu are:
Seeing information about your members like for instance the city they are in
Kicking members out of the family
Assigning members to a capo regime, or promote them to the position of capo
Capo CP: (Control panel)
Here your capo can get a list of each user and see what his capo regime earned for him. If you get kicked out of a capo regime, this won’t mean that you are kicked out of the family. A capo gets 1% of your income with crimes.
Besides this, the capo has the option on this page to hand his capo regime over to a fellow gangster, and set a successor (who has to be in the family) to take over his/her regime should he/she die
Casino
This is the ultimate place to Gamble.
The place to lose everything you have or get very rich and maybe even get your own casino object.
Chose your favourite game or the one that you think will make you fast money and place your bets!
Casino Objects:
Blackjack: Blackjack, the first card game on Omerta! Play your best hand of cards, and hope you can beat the dealer! Be sure to read the blackjack rules before starting this game!
Slot Machine: The slots machine is most probably the best known casino game in Vegas, next to the roulette. Just like in Vegas the chances of winning are not that big, but if you win, you win big!
Numbers Game: Probably the simplest casino around: bet on a number between 1 and 10. If you get lucky, and got the right number, the payout will be x9! So if you bet 1.000 dollars and win, you’ll be able to cash 9.000 dollars! It's a big payout, but don’t forget: it's also a 1 in 10 chance to win.
Roulette: The roulette is a popular option in the game; you can score big money with it, or lose it all. An owner sets the maximum bet for his roulette.
Bookmaker: In the bookmaker’s office, you are able to place bets on a wide range of topics. These topics are chosen by the casino owner. Just select the option that sounds best, place your money, and click on bet! The bookmaker is responsible for setting the closing date and time of the bets.
Punto Banco: Punto Banco literally refers to the two opposing sides; player and bank. It is derived from Baccarat, one of the most popular casino games in the world. In Punto Banco the only decision that the player needs to make is where to place his bet. Once this has been done, the game unfolds and you either win, lose or draw.

Poker: A 5 card draw variation of poker (multiplayer)
Lottery: Nobody owns this lottery. You can buy a ticket (or more) for 10.000 dollar a piece. You might win some money, bullets or a 0% damage top notch car.
Scratch and Win: Play this game to win up to 1 million dollar! A scratch card can be bought for 5.000 dollars. Only thing you have to do is scratch, and pray that you will get 3 fields that have the same amount of dollars on it.
please make sure that you have Macromedia Flash before playing this game, so you won’t have the risk of losing $ 5.000 for nothing.
Roulette: The roulette is a popular option in the game. The roulette in the Gambling Hall is owned by Local Mob who set the minimum bet at $ 10 and the maximum bet is $ 10,000. The maxbet on numbers is $ 1,000

Overall statistics (these are general statistics about the game, like for instance how many users there are)

Most honoured and dishonoured members (this is determined by the number of honour points or dis-honour points the users have)
Capo di tutti capi (the big mafia boss of one city, determined by which don in that city has the most honour points. If your don is CDTC you have can hire cheaper detectives)

All families (clicking on one of them will lead you to the family profile of that family. The families are ordered by start date.)
Most honoured families (the 50 families with most total of honour points inside the family)
Bullet factory statistics (how many bullets you can buy in which city, for what price, but please note: The stats page is not up to date to the second, since it’s being refreshed every couple of minutes. So seeing there are bullets available in a certain city won’t mean that they are still there if you try to buy them)
Scratch and Win results for today (it shows which prizes were won how many times this day)
Bookmaker Offices (you can see what bet is running where, and which betting office is open or closed)
Roulette Tables (things you can see here are who owns this casino, what the maximum bet is, and how much money has been made by the owner of that casino. The same goes for the following 3 casinos)

Profile
The profile menu is very useful for setting some important options in this game. The options you can find here are:
A link to your own user profile
The ability to change your password
The ability to set a Kill Password. This password, if set, is required whenever you attempt to kill someone. This is designed as a safety measure for the more secure minded players, to minimize damage if they are hacked.
Upload a profile image. This image will appear on top of your profile page. It is limited to 50kb and 350*350 px. Profile images need to be approved by a crewmember before they are shown on our profile.
Bust-out & Buy-out message setting, you can choose to receive an ingame message or not if someone bust or buys you out of jail.
Mail alerter settings, you can select one of the options here to decide how often your ingame mailbox is checked and also if you want a static or flshing mailbox picture.
Setting the person you would like in your testament. In the case you are murdered, that person will receive 40% of the money you have in your bank, and all the cars you have
Site language. Here you can choose between several languages you want the site to be in.
1: even though you can change the language of this site, does not change the fact that the official communication language is still English. To avoid punishments, keep this in mind if you are sending a ticket, if you are busy in the bar or forum, or if you are in an irc channel
2: it is not recommended you put your language settings to Hebrew, since most computer do not support this language (unless when you change your language settings of your pc) and you won´t be able to play Omerta or change it back that way.
Counterfire (backfire) settings. Setting this option will determine the amount of bullets you will shoot back if someone tries to kill you
Personal quote. In this menu you can edit the way your user profile is shown. On this page you can:
1. Hide specific things on your profile, like your sex, your donating status, and your heist/org crime status (whether you are tired from a heist or org crime or not)
3: these options become visible when you click on 'expand settings.
2. Edit the quote can you put on your profile. There are easy to use buttons for things like underlining words, using bold, linking to other user pages, and so forth. For more information about how to make your profile look great, take a look at handy info
Add a friend. To add someone to your friends list will result in:
1. That person being shown in the friends list on your user profile
2. Your friend being highlighted in your jail screen, so it is easier to find your buddy in the jail list
3. Him/Her being in a drop-down menu in your bank, so it’ll be easy to transfer money to him/her
4. That person being in a drop-down menu in the message system. That makes it faster when you want to send him a pm (personal message)
5. A sign that marks the name of a friend in your friendlist on the profile page, when that friend dies.
If you are donating + member, you will also see:
A list of players that have put you in their friendlist
A list of colourschemes you can change the look of your Omerta page with
Users Online
Here you can view any members who have been online within the last 5 minutes. The users who are a Don, or who have a casino/bulletfactory are specially marked. At the bottom of the page you can see the Omerta Crew members, User Group members and Times Crew members who are online.
All Users
Click here to look at all the users that play this multiplayer game. Even the dead ones are stored in the archives! You can sort all the users on start-date, rank and name, by clicking the top of the columns.
Quick Lookup
Click here to search for users and view their profiles. Keep in mind that you can only search for players that play the same version as you do, so you won´t find people that play .nl in .com

If you put money on your bank, you´ll get interest over the amount of money that´s left on your bank after 24 hours. In the meanwhile you can take money off your bank, but you won´t be able to put money on it, without taking everything off first. Otherwise it will mess up the interest
Shop/Market
There are various items which can be bought in the shop:
You can buy guns, to arm yourself against possible enemies. You will need a gun to shoot the bottle and to be able to kill other players.
You can buy protection like a bulletproof suit, to protect you from your fellow gangsters in the game. The more protection you buy, the harder it will be to get killed. Other ways of getting protection are hiring bodyguards, and buying villas. But please note: When you buy a villa in a certain city, the protection you gain from that villa only counts for that city. Also bodyguards can die! protecting you and in backfire, and will need to be rehired
If you are hunted down by other gangsters, a good but expensive option might be to hide in a safe house. You can buy yourself time in a safe house, where nobody can hurt you even a little bit. One of the downsides is that you won't be able to play or even communicate within the game. There is a maximum of 9 hours and 15 minutes in the safe house. If you leave the Safehouse you cant re-enter it for an hour.
The last items which can be bought at the shop are airplanes. Airplanes allow you to travel across the ocean, instead of over land by train. Airplanes will become more expensive, as their travel time decreases.
Travel
Travelling is used for different purposes: running away from someone that is trying to kill you, doing booze or narcotics runs, going to a location for Organized crimes, going to a fellow gangster to do a Heist, or possibly a race match against a friend! When travelling you will also gain a little rank progress and health points.
City Maps
Here you can see an overview of the city map you’re in. The map might seem weird and unrealistic, but it is a first attempt of an actual location. Each spot on this map represents a HQ for a capo-regime, and each spot has place for 25 people. If you hover your mouse over a spot it will give you information on:
The spot number:
This number is different for every spot.
The owner:
Will represent the name of the owner of the object which is in the spot (note: This option will be developed further in the game, and is yet of no use)
The capo:
The name of the capo who owns the spot or *NONE* if still available
The family:
The family of the capo of that spot (if there is one)
Planning Permission:
The city council has set up usage plans for every spot (note: This option will be developed further in the game, and is yet of no use)
If the capo spot has been filled, you will see a colored box with a "D" if this capo spot is owned by the Don of a certain family. A "C" is just a regular capo. If you click on a spot you will go to a page with more details on the spot. For more information about city maps and the family system, please read Families.
Local Bulletfactory
The local bullet factories are owned by the local mob.
The local mafia bring out their bullets every 1 or 2 minutes. The price that they are available for is completely random, but it would be between 250 and 750 dollars.
You can only buy your bullets in this factory once an hour and the maximum amount you can buy is 400 bullets.
Detectives
Killing is not easy. When you want to whack a fellow gangster, the first thing you will have to do is hire some detectives to go look for him.
Doing so is quite easy: just fill in the name of the person you want to find, the amount of detectives that should look for your target in a city and for how long (1 to 5 hours), then click on hire. Soon you will have a net of detectives spread out over the cities the detectives were hired in trying to find that guy or gal you want to kill.
When the detectives find your target, you will get a message in your inbox. The best thing to do is to travel as soon as possible to the place where that dude is hiding. If you are too slow, the bird may be lost.
If a detective has found your victim, he will follow him in the same city for two hours.
Kill
Easy as hell, first find your target with a detective, go to the city where he or she is hiding, aim, and pull the trigger.
There is a maximum of 60.000 bullets though. And be careful, he might have backfire power and get you killed as well.
The victim can shoot back twice as hard as you did, if he has got that many bullets (remember that for backfire there is also a maximum of 60.000 bullets you can fire).
When you kill someone, you will receive all his cash money. Beside this, killing a fellow gangster will also give you kill skill.
The more kill skill you have, the easier killing will get! You will however only receive kill skill if you shoot a minimum of 500 bullets, and if your target isn't more than 1 rank under yours.
You cannot kill users that are more than 2 ranks above your rank, and you are not able to shoot Omerta crew members. Omerta crew members do not play the game, so killing them is not an option.
Bloodbank
You will need this, to repair your health status:
If some gangster decides to shoot you
You have had a bad heist
If you have crashed during a race
You can only use the bloodbank every 45 minutes
Hitlist
Scared of getting killed by backfire or don't have the bullets?
Or maybe you don't want other people to know that you want someone dead?
Then the hitlist is a great option. Just place the player on the hitlist for a reasonable amount of money and wait untill he gets shot.
You can add a person anonymously but note that an anonymous hitlist will cost you 25% more. If you kill someone who is on the hitlist you will receive the money in cash. To buy someone off the list it will take you twice as much money as the victim was hitlisted for.
even hitlisting someone anonymously will have a risk. It is possible to find out who hitlisted a person by paying a large amount. It is not allowed to make a dupe-account in order to hitlist someone without people knowing who you really are. This will result in a kill/punishment and removal of the person hitlisted.
Pillory
The pillory is also known as The Hall of Shame.
Being here is the worst thing you can imagine as a gangster. People can throw tomatoes at these bastards for $ 5.000 a piece. They will lose health (1%) for every tomato thrown at them. If they have no health left they will die from just one simple tomato, and the lucky gangster that has thrown the fatal tomato will receive the cash!
only crewmembers can put someone on the pillory and they will not do it on request.
Jail
The place you will be in a lot, especially in the beginning. In the jail page you can try to bust someone out. Ways to end up in jail are:
Trying to smuggle booze or narcotics
Getting caught doing a crime
Getting arrested when nicking a car
Getting very unlucky while doing a heist
Getting very unlucky while doing a mega oc
Failing to bust someone out of jail (only godfathers and firstladies can bust people out without ending up in jail)
When you are in jail, it is possible to break yourself out. But watch out: if you get caught trying to break out of jail, you will have to do even more time!
Car races
To try your luck on the car races, just invite one or more people to race with you. You can do a practice race, a race for money or for the cars in the race. Because of your desire to win, your car will always be damaged after a race. After winning a race you will gain race form, 0.5 for every person you won from. Your raceform will go down after some time and when you lose a race. To keep your raceform high it´s important to keep racing, and winning!
racing for money will mean that all cars in the race will be lost.
Matrimonial
A link to the wedding and divorce options. To get married you, your wife/husband and your witnesses will need a minimum rank of mobster. If you are male you can propose to the woman you love, through this option. If you are a female, you can turn on or off, whether you would like to accept wedding proposals or not. To be able to marry you both need a villa in the city where the marriage will take places. Costs of the wedding vary from $250.000 till $2.500.000. You need 2 witnesses for the matrimonial , they can give you also wedding gifts.
Inbox
Any messages sent to you will be send to your inbox. To notify you that you have a message in your inbox, you will see a mail box on the top of your screen. Clicking on it will lead you to your inbox. Keep in mind there is a maximum amount of messages you can store in your inbox, depending on your donating status!
Chat
In the Chat section you will find an easy to use chat applet for connecting to our IRC server.
Using this is very useful if you want to get in touch with fellow gangsters to do an organized crime, a heist, a race or whatever you might want. Besides this: if you want to join a family, IRC is also the place to be, and would improve your chances of getting accepted into a family.
But above all, being on IRC and interacting with fellow gangsters just makes the game more fun! If you have questions about IRC, please join #feds NOT of #help.
If IRC suits your needs, and if it is to your liking, it is advised that you install the program mIRC. This program will have a lot more options than the java applet. If you need help setting up mIRC, please visit this link.NOT WORKING!

Forum
The Forum is for remarks, help, or questions to fellow members about the game. You can also look for heist/oc /race partners on the forum. Make sure you post your messages in the right sub forum, to prevent them from being removed by a crewmember. Note: be careful with posting in the forum. First read and follow the forum rules, if you don't want to be punished by an admin A few basic rules for using the forum:
The only language that can be used in the forum is English! That also counts for the Rip forum and other forum topics!
No racism of any kind!
No numbering games in the News items, like #1 and jiehaa FIRST! and any of those forms that do not have anything to add to the news items and are only there to frustrate the crew and the players that do have something serious to add.
We will not act on every word of fuck, bastard or you telling in a rip forum how much you hate someone etc. This is still a mafia game and we sell drugs and kill people in this game, but think before you post a message. We do act if it is getting too offensive or personal.
1: It is up to the crew to decide what can or can not be posted. If you see any post that you think should be deleted or closed, contact a crew member.
2: If you should post anything that is against any of these rules, you could risk a forum ban, account punish or even an admin kill.
Narcotics
If doing booze runs isn't enough for you, you can also do narcotic runs. Since narcotics are even more dangerous to smuggle, the risk of getting caught by the police is greater in comparison to booze smuggling! Like booze you will get caught alot in the beginning, but it does and will become easier the more you try and rank.Use your status page to learn when you will get rank progress

Booze
Buy some booze and do some bootlegging by traveling from place to place buying and selling booze, for rank progress and profit, this does become easier as you rank, be prepaired to spend time in jail

Crimes
Make some money by starting in the crime business.
At first you will only succeed in stealing lunch money from kindergarten children but give it a few days and you will be able to do most of the crimes without getting caught.
You also have the option of stealing from your fellow players. The profit might be higher than usual, but watch out: stealing from fellow gangster can be quite dangerous, and might result in them coming after you!
You can also try to shoot a bottle to receive some kill skill, without actually having to kill a player.
1: you will have to buy a firearm to be able to shoot a bottle.
2: the percentages you see give you a guideline on what crime option has the biggest chance of succeeding.
Garage
In the garage you can see all the cars you have stolen in the game. Options you have in the garage are:
Seeing extra information about certain cars in your garage
Shipping cars to other cities
Racing with you car
Selling your cars
Repairing your cars
Moving your cars into a safehouse
Crushing cars (when your family has hired a crusher)
Moving your car in a safehouse would mean it cannot be taken away from you by the feds or by other players.
But remember, nothing is without a price!,
This however is useful for cars you might want to use for a heist, an OC (organized crime), or a race. Different cars have different qualities, and one car might be great at using in a race, but perform badly in an OC, while another car has the exact opposite effect.
It's up to the users to find out what to use for what. Think you are up for the challenge?
Route 66 Heist
A route 66 heist is done by 2 people: a leader who starts the route 66 heist and a Driver. The leader and Driver play their own part in a route 66 heist. The Leader can bring a gun and bullets , and the driver brings the car for the getaway. The leader is the one who starts the heist, and invites the driver into the heist. You will notice that you can both earn and lose things with doing a heist, so be careful with keeping money in your pocket while heisting! The minimum rank for a route 66 heist is Shoplifter. If you want to submit a self-written heist scenario, please do so by opening a ticket in the Ticket-System with your suggestion and maybe it will be used as a heist in the future!
Organized Crime
An organized crime is done by 4 people:
A leader who starts the organized crime, but also receives all of the profit (costs for the leader are $25.000)
A weapons expert (He has to finance 1 or 2 Tommy guns ($25.000 a Tommy gun), and between 1 and 100 bullets. The guns will be lost after the Organized Crime)
An explosives expert (He can choose between buying TNT and C4. C4 will cost him $40.000 and TNT just $20.000. With C4 the Organized Crime will have a higher profit than with TNT)
A driver (He needs to put in a car of his in the city the Organized Crime will take place, ideally the best car with no damage)
Every person has his own part in the crime, the leader makes sure there is a safe house to hide in and splits up the money, the weapon expert brings the guns and the bullets, the explosives expert will make sure the safe will be blown up and the driver makes sure you can get to the safe house. Since splitting the money can be quite hard to calculate, here is an unofficial site that will help you with this. The better ranks that are involved in the organized crime and the more money put into the organized crime will make the profit go higher. The minimum rank for an Organized Crime is Thief.
Mega OC
A Mega OC is almost the same as an Organized Crime, but it´s done on a larger scale. Assassins and higher can do a Mega OC once in three days. It has higher risks and bigger profits; you can gain money, get jailed and get injured (you can't die). You will need 8 people instead of 4:
A leader who organizes the crime and receives all of the profits. Costs for the leader are $750.000
Three drivers and one of them should be driving a truck
Three weapon experts, who will lose their gun bought in the shop after a Mega OC.
An Explosives Expert who can choose between EPE, TNT and C4
Not Part Of A Family
If you are not part of a mafia family, it might be worth joining one. A mafia family will provide you with protection, and will help you with any problems you might have. Besides that, in most families you can make use of every car crusher they hire, to convert your cars to bullets. A family will take up to 11% (Depends on the percentage the family wants from their members) from whatever money you make with crimes and cars, but it’s more than worth it. The best way to join a family is to contact them on IRC. Most families have a recruiting channel, which you can find on their family page (see statistics). Best is to study these pages and select the family that fits you best, most will also have some standards you have to meet before you can join.
Family control: panel
The control panel is the most important tool for the family don, his Sottocapo and his Consiglieri.
Options that you can find in this control panel are:
Setting the amount of money members have to pay when leaving the family
Setting the percentage that users will have to pay over their profits
Changing the color of your family (changes colour of the spot on city maps)
The ability to change the families name (this costs an astonishing 100 million dollars)
Changing the promotion money, which users will get when promoting to a higher rank
Hiring a car crusher, so the members can convert their cars into bullets
Sending a message to all the family members at once
Changing the family image (which is shown on the family profile)
Changing the text on the family profile
Assigning several positions in the family. This is an option only the don has. He can assign the:
1. Sotto-capo 2. Consiglieri 3. Successor (He will take the place of the Don, when the Don gets killed.) 4. Hammer (The hammer is the guy you don’t want as your enemy. He receives 1% of every number of bullets people buy at the local mafia, and because of his speciality, he is a lot more dangerous when killing)
Handing over the family to his successor
Selecting whether your family recruits or not. This again is an option only the Don has, and a result would be that the Sotto-capo and the Consiglieri won’t be able to invite anybody into the family. When turned off, the family profile would show that this family is not recruiting at the moment
Inviting other users to the family
Control: Bank
The Don and the Consiglieri are the only ones with access to this panel. Here, you can see who transfered money to the family bank, and to whom money from the family bank was sent. The other option on this page is transfering money from your family bank, to a user. Note: unlike the normal bank, there is a transfer cost of 15% if you want to take money of the family bank.
Manage Users:
This is an option that only the Don and the Sotto-Capo have. The options you will have in this menu are:
Seeing information about your members like for instance the city they are in
Kicking members out of the family
Assigning members to a capo regime, or promote them to the position of capo
Capo CP: (Control panel)
Here your capo can get a list of each user and see what his capo regime earned for him. If you get kicked out of a capo regime, this won’t mean that you are kicked out of the family. A capo gets 1% of your income with crimes.
Besides this, the capo has the option on this page to hand his capo regime over to a fellow gangster, and set a successor (who has to be in the family) to take over his/her regime should he/she die
Casino
This is the ultimate place to Gamble.
The place to lose everything you have or get very rich and maybe even get your own casino object.
Chose your favourite game or the one that you think will make you fast money and place your bets!
Casino Objects:
Blackjack: Blackjack, the first card game on Omerta! Play your best hand of cards, and hope you can beat the dealer! Be sure to read the blackjack rules before starting this game!
Slot Machine: The slots machine is most probably the best known casino game in Vegas, next to the roulette. Just like in Vegas the chances of winning are not that big, but if you win, you win big!
Numbers Game: Probably the simplest casino around: bet on a number between 1 and 10. If you get lucky, and got the right number, the payout will be x9! So if you bet 1.000 dollars and win, you’ll be able to cash 9.000 dollars! It's a big payout, but don’t forget: it's also a 1 in 10 chance to win.
Roulette: The roulette is a popular option in the game; you can score big money with it, or lose it all. An owner sets the maximum bet for his roulette.
Bookmaker: In the bookmaker’s office, you are able to place bets on a wide range of topics. These topics are chosen by the casino owner. Just select the option that sounds best, place your money, and click on bet! The bookmaker is responsible for setting the closing date and time of the bets.
Punto Banco: Punto Banco literally refers to the two opposing sides; player and bank. It is derived from Baccarat, one of the most popular casino games in the world. In Punto Banco the only decision that the player needs to make is where to place his bet. Once this has been done, the game unfolds and you either win, lose or draw.

Poker: A 5 card draw variation of poker (multiplayer)
Lottery: Nobody owns this lottery. You can buy a ticket (or more) for 10.000 dollar a piece. You might win some money, bullets or a 0% damage top notch car.
Scratch and Win: Play this game to win up to 1 million dollar! A scratch card can be bought for 5.000 dollars. Only thing you have to do is scratch, and pray that you will get 3 fields that have the same amount of dollars on it.
please make sure that you have Macromedia Flash before playing this game, so you won’t have the risk of losing $ 5.000 for nothing.
Roulette: The roulette is a popular option in the game. The roulette in the Gambling Hall is owned by Local Mob who set the minimum bet at $ 10 and the maximum bet is $ 10,000. The maxbet on numbers is $ 1,000

Bullet factory statistics (how many bullets you can buy in which city, for what price, but please note: The stats page is not up to date to the second, since it’s being refreshed every couple of minutes. So seeing there are bullets available in a certain city won’t mean that they are still there if you try to buy them)
Scratch and Win results for today (it shows which prizes were won how many times this day)
Bookmaker Offices (you can see what bet is running where, and which betting office is open or closed)

Profile
The profile menu is very useful for setting some important options in this game. The options you can find here are:
A link to your own user profile
The ability to change your password
The ability to set a Kill Password. This password, if set, is required whenever you attempt to kill someone. This is designed as a safety measure for the more secure minded players, to minimize damage if they are hacked.
Upload a profile image. This image will appear on top of your profile page. It is limited to 50kb and 350*350 px. Profile images need to be approved by a crewmember before they are shown on our profile.
Bust-out & Buy-out message setting, you can choose to receive an ingame message or not if someone bust or buys you out of jail.
Mail alerter settings, you can select one of the options here to decide how often your ingame mailbox is checked and also if you want a static or flshing mailbox picture.
Setting the person you would like in your testament. In the case you are murdered, that person will receive 40% of the money you have in your bank, and all the cars you have
Site language. Here you can choose between several languages you want the site to be in.
1: even though you can change the language of this site, does not change the fact that the official communication language is still English. To avoid punishments, keep this in mind if you are sending a ticket, if you are busy in the bar or forum, or if you are in an irc channel
2: it is not recommended you put your language settings to Hebrew, since most computer do not support this language (unless when you change your language settings of your pc) and you won´t be able to play Omerta or change it back that way.
Counterfire (backfire) settings. Setting this option will determine the amount of bullets you will shoot back if someone tries to kill you
Personal quote. In this menu you can edit the way your user profile is shown. On this page you can:
1. Hide specific things on your profile, like your sex, your donating status, and your heist/org crime status (whether you are tired from a heist or org crime or not)
3: these options become visible when you click on 'expand settings.
2. Edit the quote can you put on your profile. There are easy to use buttons for things like underlining words, using bold, linking to other user pages, and so forth. For more information about how to make your profile look great, take a look at handy info
Add a friend. To add someone to your friends list will result in:
1. That person being shown in the friends list on your user profile
2. Your friend being highlighted in your jail screen, so it is easier to find your buddy in the jail list
3. Him/Her being in a drop-down menu in your bank, so it’ll be easy to transfer money to him/her
4. That person being in a drop-down menu in the message system. That makes it faster when you want to send him a pm (personal message)
5. A sign that marks the name of a friend in your friendlist on the profile page, when that friend dies.
If you are donating + member, you will also see:
A list of players that have put you in their friendlist
A list of colourschemes you can change the look of your Omerta page with
Users Online
Here you can view any members who have been online within the last 5 minutes. The users who are a Don, or who have a casino/bulletfactory are specially marked. At the bottom of the page you can see the Omerta Crew members, User Group members and Times Crew members who are online.
All Users
Click here to look at all the users that play this multiplayer game. Even the dead ones are stored in the archives! You can sort all the users on start-date, rank and name, by clicking the top of the columns.
Quick Lookup
Click here to search for users and view their profiles. Keep in mind that you can only search for players that play the same version as you do, so you won´t find people that play .nl in .com
It's not the best manual, but it should at least get you started. I got it from the wiki the game has.
As I get more information and tips, i'll post them in the OP, but for now try to get some guys playing and start hijacking some stuff!

Tips
-Do nothing but busts until you reach shoplifter rank, like robbing a kindergarten, and taking down hotdog stands, then branch out.
-In the beginning do not attempt to buy yourself out from jail. It's a waste of money. Just eat the time, and by the time you get out of jail your crime timer will have reset. Also, you gain experience even if you are caught commiting a crime or fail at it.
