The Third Great Beast Arc from naruto was at least as good as some of those canon episodes.

Pumpkin Scissors, I think, would have been better if it had more stuff getting blown up, and fewer peasant revolts.

the bleach not filler isn't really that great for the most part. I just don't get the whole annoying ass side kick thing. Worse than jar jar, and I don't say things like that lightly.

Skypeia is canon, and normally I love the guy....

But FUCK I want to strangle Usopp so he just fucking shuts up already. :(
Chopper too. I know they're cowardly, but they are serious pussies in this arc

I'm guessing you haven't seen it yet but later Skypiea spoilers:
Chopper goes one on one, and wins, against the priest... His name fails me but it's the guy with the dreadlocks that stick up, constantly bites his lower lip, and says "how careless." I know he's supposed to be the weakest of the priests but still, beating a priest mano a mano is pretty awesome.

Also I hate to say it, but Ussop doesn't improve throughout the arc.

On the subject of One Piece, has there been any word on the status of CN's broadcast of the english version? Last I heard, the fears of cancellation were somewhat dismissed by CN, saying that they simply ran out of episodes from Funimation. Is there any word when/if Skypeia will continue? If One Piece is dead on TV, will Funimation still commit to releasing the whole series on DVD boxsets, the first which is available this week?

I've been debating whether to continue watching Skypeia through fansubs until I get a final word on the dubbed version.

I think I read somewhere that CN only showed all the episodes they bought from Funimation, but I have no idea where I read it so the situation is still mostly up in the air.

I'm definitely sure that Funimation will continue to release the boxsets regardless of what CN is doing with the broadcast version. Just my thoughts though...

One Piece filler automatically wins because of the G8 filler arc, which is better than some of the canon material.

G8 is good, but better than some canon material? LIES!

My understanding/guess was that because Funimation was going back and redubbing all the old stuff, new stuff was put on hold until that was done, but there's no evidence supporting it.

And I didn't like the Davy Back fight. It irked me in the manga, too. G8 was better than that.

He's talking about Kaizoku, who did the lion's share of the series and are still technically subbing, but they're really far behind. Smasher, you'll have to jump amongst a couple different subbing groups to catch up, but there's two that I know of that do the newer episodes. One picks up at 294, although they've started lagging behind now, too, in terms of translations. The one which gets it out weekly picks up at 321. I presume that linking to subbing groups isn't kosher, so I won't say more than that, but I think you'll be able to bridge the gap via....3 or 4 groups, total. None of them were very poor, other than one which only handled a very small stretch.

I forgot which group I went with after I caught up with Kaizoku, but I've been following Vegapunk for the most recent episodes. Of course, they're about a dozen episodes behind themselves, but whatever.

I'm still watching Kimikiss. The last few eps of this is kinda hard to plow through. I can't work up the will to just burn through it all.

The routes chosen just aren't satisfactory. Sakino and Yumi deserve more.

Still ep 19 has a pretty good Higurashi moment.

    Mao.jpg
I swear Mao's thinking "I'm going to kill that bitch". The best part is that it starts panning over to Yumi and she's all low production values with Mao's eyes like that.

Also there's a Jigoku Shoujo Season 3 fuck yes. More Mamiko Noto and awesome OPs/EDs. I also hope for a good end this time for any of the individual stories. Just give me one.

That was pretty awesome Lucky Star mix.

I don't mind bleach filler at all, but i'm not reading the manga. I'd imagine i'd be way more irritated if i was reading it.

As far as PS, yeah the peasant revolt story took up a huge chunk of the show but It felt like all of that was excellent setup for the Silver Wheel and what they're up to, At first I thought they were trying to continue the poverty and shittiness of the post-war society
by distributing drugs and weapons tech to bad people
but then during the peasant revolt they put the wheels in motion to actually make things better
by helping to erase some of the feelings of separation between the nobles and the common people
    .

It just seems like a series that could go on for a long time, The first 24 episodes of Bleach weren't exactly mindblowing if i remember correctly, and I Love that show now.

It really is a fantastic show and I've delayed watching it till now because kaitou shows are usually pretty bad. This show has completely exceeded my expectations in every way. Chiko is adorable and Twenty Faces has this awesome Roger Smith look and vibe.

I really need to decide whether to watch more again. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't...i[clicking[/i] with me, so to speak, so I went and read some of the manga. And I didn't like the manga's presentation as much as the anime, but the future story stuff sounded more interesting. And then it went all silly again. I dunno.

... what? I'm curious here... how do you think the manga ends? Because it's way more depressing than the anime. Aside from the stupid little nonsensical stinger at the end at least.

it's actually kind of hard to peice together because the manga doesn't actually have it's own entry so you have to piece the summary together from the various "differences between the anime and the manga" bits of the individual character pages and the whole series page etc...

    basically,
In the manga Lucy over uses her vectors to defeat that group of armed dudes who were trying to kill her at the end of the Anime, which causes her body to start to disintegrate painfully, and Kota kills her to end the suffering.

Also it's revealed that Lucy actually has 3 personalities, Nyu, Lucy, and "Lucy 2" (lucy 2 being the psychopath that wanted to kill all humans)

then 10 years later two Diclonius twins who are named Lucy and Nyu are reborn and they become friends with Kota and Yuka's daughter. So kind-of a happy ending because it's revealed that the "virus" is actually more of a cloning ability than a reproductive process so Lucy isn't actually dead, and they also don't seem to have trouble fighting the urge to murder humanity that all Diclonii supposedly have in their heads.

but maybe i interpreted the summary a lot more positively than the Manga actually portrays.
