?? How old is he? 14? Then again with my turning 25 this June I've got to be one of the oldest comic book fans I know.

Hah. You call that old? I'm 29 and turn 30 in September. I'm the only comic book fan I know, expect for my comic book store owner, who's in his mid thirties.

The first comic I ever read was a spidey story, where he's facing off against Mysterio and tied to the bottom of a pool with his arm in a cast. Can't remember which issue it was, but anyway, it was old. :|

I liked Spider-man's single status and relatively simple storylines, mostly confounded to single issues back then. However, I also like some growth in the comics I read, so this return to days of old rubs me the wrong way.

There are too many comics I need to be spending my cash on anyway, so I'll be avoiding purchase of anything spider-man related any time soon. I will, however, try to find a way to read some BND singles to see if the spider-titles are becoming worth reading again.

In my opinion they are absolutley worth reading.

Well the Slott and Guggenheim issues have been.

The 2 most recent issues have not been up to par, but the first six were great.

The first two arcs were decent.
Not great, but they also had to establish the new status quo while telling their story.

Of course they were decent. I mean, the 80's Spider-Man issues were great, following the exact same template will turn decent...repetitive, but decent.

Well today's issue was okay. Better than the first 2 parts at least.

Thankfully thats it for Gale, really looking forward to next month's arc.

Is Wolverine and Spider-Man versus Orcs in the snow next? If so, then the book moves up to maybe status perhaps.

Good, spidey comics need the wolverine bump, not to mention something worth reading about.

I hope Spidey makes some webbing weapons in the next arc. I miss those things when he used to make shields and bats and such out of webbing. I don't think I've seen him do that since he webbed up Luke Cage's fists in New Avengers.

I think that might be far too campy, even for Brand New Day.

I am getting through my stack of stuff from a few past weeks, and I've gotta say Bob Gale writes some godawful dialogue.

Eh the shields aren't too campy. Its helpful to block attacks and such but with a Spider-sense I suppose its not all that necessary.

Well, the way the MU is working these days, it's requires a little too much suspension of disbelief to say he could form a solid object that holds some predetermined shape out of webbing.

I do like it when he does unorthodox things with it, but I think they should take a page out of Marvel UA's book for that.

Edit: Which Slott kind of did with the bomb bit in the first arc.

    ... what?

That's not any more ridiculous than anything else that happens in the MU on a daily basis.

It's ridiculous that he would waste all his webbing on tricks and gimmicks like a "Wall of Webbing" after spending so long bitching about being out of web fluid and how it costs thousands to make more.

This is a world that has Mr. Fantastic and Thor.

People have magic particles that make them shrink.

I think a dude can mold a baseball bat out of webbing.

It wasnt a joke, but the implication was that it was a huge batch that would last him awhile. I would presume he makes it in large quantities.

I still miss the organics and the stingers. Although considering the two stories it took to get them (Spidey: Disassembled & The Other) I'd hate to see the new Hells it would take to get them back.

It could be he still has organic webbing and the rest, but has simply forgotten? Maybe rediscovering them will be one of the first steps towards realizing something is wrong with the world and undoing Mephisto's magic.

depends on what you mean by undoing Mephisto's magic.

Will Spidey remember what happaned? I'd say chances are pretty good, Guggenheim's last issue confirmed that they will be revisiting that stuff.

They won't get married again though.
