Eh the shields aren't too campy. Its helpful to block attacks and such but with a Spider-sense I suppose its not all that necessary.
Well, the way the MU is working these days, it's requires a little too much suspension of disbelief to say he could form a solid object that holds some predetermined shape out of webbing.
Ben Reilly, as the Scarlet Spider and later as Spider-Man, uses modified web-shooters that can fire fast-acting sedative "stinger" darts, and "impact webbing," balls of webbing that explode on impact and envelop the target. The impact webbing and stingers are activated by certain wrist movements, rather than using a double-tap on a palm trigger. They use larger web cartridges than Peter's web-shooters and worn on the outside of his costume. Spider-Girl, Peter's alternate future daughter, uses modified versions of Ben's web-shooters.
I wouldn't mind seeing this stuff again, so long as we have to have web shooters. I mean, it's kind of hard to believe that Peter is no better at chemistry now than he was as a high school student.
Thousands? I thought it cost like a couple of hundred bucks? I miss the organic webbing....and the stingers. The stingers looked cool.
I looked it up again and it says $2000.
i think that was a joke.
He kind of reinforces it numerous times.
Like how the money he gets ($2000!) is just enough to make more webbing.

man, that is just fucking insane. 2k? that has got to last him at least like a year. because i know he can't afford, nor probably ever has been able to afford dropping 2k a month on webbing.
So Freak seems to just be Doomsday except without looking or being cool. Gets killed, gains a new power which makes him immune to whatever killed him, rinse and repeat. At this rate Carnage won't be able to kill him.
Carnage will come back inevitably anyway. Last I heard, mass murderers dressed in living crimson are popular with kids.
EDIT: And me.
And I loved the Spider-Assassin one shot. Its something I could see him doing with Wolvie in another time and makes him put aside all the pedantic bullshit that is dragging mainstream Peter back. Assassin Peter would have come to terms with Mays death and got on with it. He stopped pining for his true love MJ and found a real girl who can look after herself. Much cooler.
Plus the costume.

Remember when there were those rumblings about Brock getting the symbiote back?

My favorite part is the gesture he uses to fire his wrist gun. Bang bang!
So instead of asking why Luke isn't suddenly flipping out that the identity of one of his good friends on the Avengers who unmasked is now suddenly a mystery to him, we're gonna ignore it and show the guy who doesn't care.
Ahh well. It looks like it's at least well written finally.
JoeyQ said again today in Cup'O Joe that stuff is still going to be adressed, and even teased that the story about what happaned on Peter and MJ's wedding day that stopped the wedding already has a creative team locked in.

I have to say, though, that I do admire the ballsy-ness of having Wolverine and Dr. Strange, the two guys who should know something is up, just standing around chilling with Spidey like nothing has changed. You've got some chutzpah, Marvel.
It seems like Strange is hinting that he knows something is up on those preview pages though with all the talk about how Spidey shouldn't be afraid to ask for help and how if Spidey is SURE if there's anything he can't help him with.
just when I decide to drop ASM from my pull list, and burn the last arc in an attempt to exorcise the demons... you go and post a preview that is both interesting and not written like it was being submitted for a 9th grade creative writing class.
Thanks... I'll send you my 2.99 bill.

"Like, I dunno...making a deal with the devil and losing your marriage?"
"What?"
"Nothing, I didn't say anything."

I think it's because we're restarting the rotation and all the writers have gotten their stupid jokes about the situation out of their system.
So, the hardcovers that are solicited. Someone use their amazing psychic powers and tell me if they are just premier editions or actual oversized HCs. Now!

Oh no, Peter, you got to third base with Satan!

Didn't know her name. Or notice that she was a redhead.
Edit: also every girl in the book has a crush on Peter.
PARKER, YOU'RE FIRED! <-- My comic book podcast! Satan look here!
She wears glasses, so she gets overlooked a lot.

That would be awesome. Far too awesome.
We don't have to explain it.

Also, while we're at web-shooter modifications.
Okay, that might be a bit too much.

Which makes me wonder what job Peter did on the side to afford materials that cost 2000 over the course of a couple months.
But then again, magic, explanation, etc.
or as good as anyway
So his point still stands.

What If?: Spider-Man vs. Wolverine
It wasn't that good, but Spider-Man as a mercenary is still kind of neat.
https://twitter.com/Hooraydiation
I think it was pretty good, better then a lot of the more recent What If? issues.

As ridiculous as web objects are...
We don't have to explain it, it's magic!
and it was just a stupid the first time
ASM: Good reading. Good tasting.
I love me some Spidey/Wolverine action
Not total shit Bachelo from New X-Men!
So freaking bought.
Also it may interest people to note that Ms. Marvel #25 referenced the fact that Jonah had had a heart attack.
Ahh well. It looks like it's at least well written finally.
MJs uncle Meph Isto stopped the wedding.
