This looks superb, I just wish Segata Sanshiro was in it somewhere. He would win and the court would explode

Wow, that DS version looks great.

I see myself picking up the Wii version, though, for the controls.

I'll be renting it first, as Wii controls can be so hit-or-miss. Cautiously optimistic, though.

I'm pretty certain that the XBox one was the second one (at least in NA), so which one was the third one?
Jet Grind and Jet Set are the only two I actually know of... would be cool to hear of more being out there. I don't really count cell phones myself, so don't include those (I'm fairly certain that most in here don't either).

There was a GBA one? Wow... what was it called and was it released stateside?

Anyhow, on topic.... If they added Alis, Odin, Noah, Myau, or any of the original PS characters I'd just die. You can't have a superstar game without characters from all your biggest games. Even some Golden Axe love would be highly appreciated. If they pull a Fighters MegaMix on us and throw in a Daytona car though, that would be awesome also.

JSRA is basically the DC game turned into an isometric platformer.

It's not that bad at all, just nothing like the original.

The music and level design made a good transition, but it's still very different.

And it was released here; THQ published it.

So? JSRF was the DC game turned into an Xbox game. Music and graphics made a good translation, but level design and play mechanics were very different.

Yeah, except JSRA is clearly trying to be the exact same thing as its Dreamcast predecessor, as everything was pretty much copied as identically as possible, with the exception of the final battle because they couldn't find a way to do it. Every nook of every stage was taken from the DC version. They even gave it tank controls to make it control similar with a fixed camera.

I know Smilebit called JSRF a remake, but at the very least it's a remake with completely new shit.

As someone, who very obviously adores the JSR series, you can understand that I don't think of the GBA game when I think of that series. While it is a decent (not good, but decent) game in its own right, it doesn't really deserve to be compared to the original.

I would like to have that game. I destroyed the original, but the Xbox one is aggravating me. I'd really like to play it, too. But what's with all the crazy puzzles and weird enemies that make you restart the stage? I'll take the helicopters and jet-pack guys over this any day. :(

I also demand a Phantasy Star (Online?) level and characters. Did Monster Boy or Alex Kidd make it in there already? Brownie and Max from Shining Force?

Wonderboy, not Monster Boy. And no, no one from Wonderboy (it's a title, not the name of the character, like the Hero of Time) or Alex Kidd made the cut. And neither did anyone from shining force.

I have no real interest in Sega or any of its icons so I can't understand why I'm so drawn to this game.

It could be that I know Sega makes awesome tennis games. But that can't be it because I've paid no mind to Virtua Tennis 3 over Top Spin 2.

I think I was just in a "Fuck you Sega" mood because I've rented Sega Sports Tennis for PS2 like a million times, I looked everywhere and never found it for purchase. Plus, Top Spin 2 is really, really good.

Other way around. Top Spin 2 came too late - it's an imitation of Virtua Tennis 2. Top Spin 3 is going to be an imitation of VT3. You're playing outdated goods, my man.

Yeah, I know. Top Spin 2 still came too late. Virtua Tennis 2 was out years before. It's like saying the saturn port of Ultimate MK3 came too late, so you bought the saturn port of MK II instead.

Only if MK II were the inferior game.

It's cool. The "wonderboy" in that game is actually named Tom-Tom, the same wonderboy from the original.

Also, while Wonderboy is a title, the actual in-game title given to the character is "The legendary hero" hence "the legendary sword," "the legendary armor," etc.

Holy shit is it good to see the old school style sonic back in action. That's totally based off his original model, not his newer ones. And they brought back his classic jump noise along with the sonic spin noise. And the bumpers sound the same.

    AND HE FUCKING SAVES AMIGO!!

    Shadow the Hedgehog... and...

Super Shadow and Reala. Which means you can probably bet Super Sonic is in the game.
