Play.com send the monies to the affiliate agency once they have charged peoples accounts, and then there is a month delay whilst they process it, then I get it.

I'll have it by my birthday (3rd July) hopefully so I will probably use that as an excuse to buy nice things.

Or pay towards PAX flights, or spends whilst there, or food over the summer. Hmm tough choices!<3<3<3

Hey now, I'm all about the drums. As soon as I can learn to play them.

And Geometry Wars there, I keep meaning to go back and play more of that as it's really good, I just never get around to it. I feel a need to keep leveling up the drone rather than just play missions and stuff, so just drag my feet over it. BUT it's well worth a purchase if you're not a fool like me.

Sure you'll disagree but cheap games should be the number one priority in his life!

Maybe we can get him a SavvyPager and whenever it goes off he should drop everything and report to the BlogCave.

His exam finishes, well, I'd like to say I definitely know, but he thought it was tomorrow until Monday - he thought his exams were Tues and Thurs this week, D:, Oh what is a mother to do? At least he had the sense to set alarms on his phone to remind him.

Last year, I phoned him on a Sunday evening to see how he was feeling about his exam the next day... long silence, then "Its on Friday, mum". Me: "No, its in the morning". He then stayed up all night to revise, and asked me to phone him when I woke up to make sure he was awake. I barely slept for worrying.D:

    he passed.

I like the idea of a SavyPager, but for exams, not his blog.

Although, the income it generates is useful.

Poor Lewie, I bet he rues the day when he signed me up to PA! I don't.:lol:

Woohoo! As you should be. In fact, being drunk for a few days after exams is not uncommon, and probably EXPECTED in certain circles.

That Geometry Wars bargain is mighty tempting. However, I must hold out until pay day. Plus, many other games to play. And the Penny Arcade game to get. Any good prices on XBL points at the mo?

I would certainly recommend both Geometry wars titles.

Although the survival levels have me cursing a bit too much. Am I right in saying that the DS version is slower than the Wii one? I managed to get 800,000+ points in retro evolved mode in the DS game.

I can't even get to 150,000 in the Wii version. Pretty embarassing.

Bit of a departure from the usual stuff, but it IS still UK and it is still Bargains, so maybe someone can help?

I set up a website a while ago with the intention of using it to help budding journalists get experience (something I myself had difficulty with) but i couldn't afford anything other than the most basic hosting at the time, which didn't allow for MYSQL, PHP or ASP/ASP.net code. This meant it took forever to post articles so I just stopped working on the site.

Now I have the skills to make a really great site to help these people out with and the cash to get a decent hosting package, but no idea where to get such a thing.

1 and 1, who i am with at the moment, are asking for 2 years payments in advance. I really don't want to do that.

Can anyone recommend a web provider for a .co.uk address who have cheap MYSQL, PHP, ASP access enabled hosting and don't want masses up front?

    Thanks in advance!

Not a game, but is there any chance someone could find me a decent price on a MMCplus memorycard?

I just got a Canon G9 and it only came with a wimpy 32 meg memorycard, so I'm looking to expand into either a 2 or 4 gig version. It'll take a lot of different cards (including a microSD card that I've currently got stuck in there, but that's stolen from my girlfriend's DS and she wants it back) but from what I can gather MMCplus seems better, and since it's not going to be used anywhere but in the Canon, it doesn't matter if it's cross compatible with other things I have.

    Thanks for any help guys.

Amazon Resellers are my favourite when it comes to memory cards. The prices do vary wildly, which may indicate fakes, but so far I've not had a bad experience with any of them.

How long do PLAY typically take to get items to you? Reason I ask is that I ordered the Dawn of War collection to pass the time while my red ringing console is away, and it shipped on the 19th. The Rock Band instruments shipped on the 20th. And the game itself is still 'processing.' D: Nothings arrived so far. The e-mail says allow 3-5 days for delivery but am I just imagining that I've gotten stuff the next day or at least within a couple of days from PLAY in the past? If the game is only posted tomorrow how likely is it to reach me on friday?

Also I don't know if this is any kind of value at all, but Argos have the 64mb 360 memory unit for £9.99, RRP supposedly being £23. Google product search only really matched that with a couple from Hong Kong on ebay and shipping ruled them out. Then again I thought I saw the 512mb one for £23-ish in a Woolworths, but it might have been mislabled?

Anyway I thought that people might find a memory unit handy with Rock Band coming out, since it'll help you get everyones profile onto the same console so everyone gets the achievements they deserve. My profile in particular takes about half an hour to retrieve via LIVE, though I have no clue why - what exactly is it downloading? Hopefully its quicker to move it from HD to memory card.

@AngryPuppy: Play ships everything second-class, that is, two day average, usually closer to three depending on your location.

Not really a bargin per se but chock another one up for the UK as Nintendo of Europe. offically announced Cooking Navi DS for release later this year. Pretty slick little game actually. I wonder if they'll package the magnetic stand with it.

This brings the total number of Nintendo games released over there with no plans of a US launch to what, five or so?

    Wii Chess
English Training (Some of you chavs could really use this!)
    Cooking Navi
    Tingle DS
    Math Training

    Sounds about right.

You ingenious bastard. I'd toyed with the idea of buying in-store and sending the PLAY copy back to them if such a situation arose, but I never thought of that. On the other hand my order history reads that it shipped yesterday, one day after the band in a box. Hoping things work out ok. Although my copy of Dawn of War, shipped on the 19th still hasn't got here yet. Not in a terrible rush to get that, just using it to gauge how long it will take. Could still be later today though, no cause for panic stations quite yet.

I called Play to ask about their delivery times, and they said the Band In A Box is being sent today by Parcelforce and it's 24 hour delivery, so I can stop standing at the window and salivating every time a car rolls past. I asked the bloke why the website said it was posted on the 20th and he just repeated the "it's being sent today" line.

As for the game, he said that's also being sent today, by First Class post. So, up at 5:30am, crouch by the postbox with hands extended from 6am onwards.

Edit: Get out of here with your facts you shuckster! But like I said I'm not worried yet, I'm sure they've made some effort to get the game to people on release day. In other news I wouldn't mind getting on the UK friends list, I'm a student bum and stay up all night to play with americans normally but I have a feeling Rock Band might not be a 4am game like the rest of them. Still I'm red ringed for the next few weeks, though I will be playing from FriendBoxes.

You probably are aware, but you will have trouble with this at a GAME store.

All the new games from that place have a little purple sticker over the DVD case that you have to break to open it. For PC Games, broken seal = no return. I think they are a lot more lenient on console games though and still have the 10 Day Promise.
