Also, what the hell is with everyone with _d, D, d, -d names?
Maybe the 80s are back and everyone's wearing spandex adidas jump shoes and gold chains.
I was wondering the same thing about the _d. I keep making fun of the _d names. ie. Hey You (the "d behind name" clan) I don't think anyone knowticed though .
Oh, see, I saw that name and it never even clicked.
Is there a way for a sniper (in a non-legit way, maybe) to be scoped but moving at full speed? I'm not asking for a link or anything, just curious. I'm playing on a public server, and there's an enemy sniper who's leading the point by like 60 over everyone else... but he runs around the top of his fort and scores perfect headshots without ever stopping.
Run, stop-scope-shoot-unscope, run.
S'doable.

also, did you try putting your vid card on a dedicated rail?
They told me to go into BIOS and make sure it's putting out 12v and not some other setting. I believe I put in one seperate line the first time I ever tried to install it, but my BIOS wasn't up to date. Now i have about 3-4 lines that aren't even of use. There's 2 VGA input cables without those white extension things on em. Then there's 2 (maybe 3) with, and one of em has 5 prongs as opposed to 6 that plugs into the video card. Does this sound right? Maybe I'm just not plugging in the correct ones? But all i know is it goes:
A detachable Y that splits into 1 that goes into my video card. Should I attach this to any specific line?
I am unchanged in my plan of action. Healing a spy should prove.... interesting. Disguise yourself as a heavy to mindfuck the other team.
Haha ynow what we should do? I'll disguise as a pyro and you should uber me. Then we run right at them with all hell. As they run away with fear in ther eyes, we just run past them to the point.
Shadrak: As for what i've done. Almost everything.
1) Driver updates (several)
2) Wiring
3) Cooling (not the problem)
4) Change settings (v-sync, AA, AF)
5) Bought a new PSU
6) Ran 3dmark got results
7) Updated BIOS, this seemed for some reason to give me a slight advantage, so I updated my driver and went to work before i could check it out with the final driver.
Any more suggestions?
1. Was it a clean driver install? TweakGuides has a very detailed step-by-step process for removing old drivers before re-installing new ones. TweakGuides.com - Nvidia Forceware Tweak Guide
2.
3. I'm assuming you're using the NVIDIA Monitor program to get these temperature readings?
4. You said other games run fine, though, right? It's just TF2 that's giving you issues?
5.
6. I tried downloading and running 3dMark06 to give you something to compare to, but it hangs my system during the tests. <_<
7.
While we're talking about graphical issues, maybe you guys can help with mine. x.X I get weird "spiky" models sometimes after playing for awhile when running in DX9. I never have the problem in DX81, and the only workaround I've found is to change the model detail in-game so it has to reload the models. After awhile, though, they go back to being spiky. Spoilers below are pics of the graphical error in TF2 and Portal.

I'm still at work, but yea, I'll try that tweaking once I get home to see if it does anything.. Any other suggestions?
Hot damn, backstabs are fun, gonna go back into one of these servers after my mouse recharges. I got a lotta kills with touchpad but still, I need a mouse.
Hey rakuen, do any other games do anything like this? Seems to be a simple test is to put it under a load and see how it does on say...Bioshock.
Install Rivatuner if you havn't done so yet. The 3dmark is just for penis measuring. I've tested over 100 games that have been released in the last two years and TF motherfucking 2 is the only one that stutters. I know it can't be more demanding than Crysis lulz...

You kinda lost me
Here is the important thing:
1) Find a plug that fits your video card.
2) Plug it in.
3) Trace that line all the way back to the PSU.
4) Unplug anything else you find on the way, and re-plug those bits on a different line.

I think he got one of the modular PSUs, and is stating he has a Y cable attached from the PSU to the Graphics Card, but nothing on the other half of the Y.

Jon, why is your server set to run Dustbowl for 3 rounds? Not only does that take an ungodly long time, but it basically guarantees a map victory to whichever team attacks first. It should just end after 2 rounds.

It's because people (including myself) hate when dustbowl ends on the last map, within the first 5-10 minutes of the final round. Plus dustbowl rules, and should be played 3 rounds.

Huh?
Dustbowl is good but we play it way too much. 2 rounds is already longer than most maps run for.
1-cap 2fort would be alright if the map had a setup time. As it is it's too common to get a freebie early cap as soon as the round starts before engineers can get set up.

1 cap leads to really, really difficult defense. You have to constantly build things right on top of the intel. Once it's out of the building then why even bother playing defense? It's gone.
It's also leads to more scout races which isn't exactly team based fun.
2x2 would be much better since the person who is half a second from the desk is still able to drop off the intel, get the point, and the team has to be ready to protect it the next time. Leads to actual strategy instead of "who can run the fastest".
i'd rather we play more dustbowl and 2fort and cut out shit maps like hydro and granary.
Some people like Hydro.
Nobody likes granary.
And we have this conversation several times each thread. Getting rid of any of the original maps is dumb since for each one some love it and some hate it.
Let's get rid of Science though since that's a custom map and it's seriously terrible. Also bring back Turbine.

science is better than granary or hydro, although not by much.

We both have the same OS. I have a core 2 duo 2ghz laptop, dell inspiron 9400/e7105, with a built in 7900gtx go. My drivers aren't the latest (168+) as nvdia's dropped support for the go 7 series, and I have to rely solely on dell. Still I've been trying the xtreme and laptopvideo2go modded forcewares, and I value stability over anything, and the dell ones are usually reliable, even if they arent the best performing.

I think 2 caps could work. The only problem with one cap is that too often does a scout get lucky and cap it in 30 seconds.
Give him a crowbar and a H.E.V. long jump and get to work Valve.
It's also leads to more scout races which isn't exactly team based fun.
