TF2 is pretty much the first online fps I've ever played consistently, and almost all my play time has been in the pa servers. I honestly just can't bring myself to play in pubs.
So I guess I should start on pub servers since I haven't played a FPS in like 5 years.
I actually like that I started with PA since it taught me all the advanced stuff (spotting spies, when to use ubers, etc) that I was able to apply to the pubs and rule them with an iron fist. The pubs are better for giving you consistant target practice while PA teaches excellent tactics.

You could, but I doubt it would help much.
Really, the game's easy to get into, you'll be up to speed in no time. Plus it's just more fun on the PA servers, since everyone tends to work together a lot more.
Don't be worried about Uber skills or anything, this game is hard to NOT have fun with.
Man recently it's been taking forever to send client information. I keep getting bounced out, or when I do join the game's been going on for a few mins. ugh

I dunno, when steam rolls happen and last more than a map or two, I lose my fun pretty quick
Good games this afternoon guys, that Dustbowl was epic.
I am noticing a disturbing trend of poor class selection though. We'll have 1 or 2 snipers, and suddenly there will be 4, or 3 engis suddenly become 6. I really advocate people play with multiple classes so that they don't put others in the awkward situation of having to change what class they've been playing since the game start because their team mates overfilled it for no good reason.

I can only play engineer or sniper though. Or pyro. Anything else and I fail all over the place.
What I am in favour of is forced melee in sudden death.
Rust: feel the same way about lucky minigun fire. If the SG's distracted and you turn the corner close to it, you can often pulverise it before it can gun you down.
As for bad class loadouts, what annoys me is when I'm the first on a team to go spy or sniper or whatever, and two or three people think nothing of picking that class when they join, effectively forcing me to fill a completely different role. I've always got an alternative choice in mind when other people beat me to the selection, so why some people insist on screwing the team up I don't know.

Even better is doing it without crits. Merrily plinking away at a faraway sentry gun with no one noticing almost makes you want to hum along with HWguy. Until you get backstabbed.
I was playing Heavy once on 2Fort, and after dying to a courtyard sentry that had been set up on the bottom of the area (at the foot of the staircase opposite to the intel entrance), I realized I could shoot through the gaps between the stairs and the sentry wouldn't register me. I blew up the sentry two or three times before the Engineer caught on.
Thinking of SGs, I wish they'd do something about their knockback. Either instakill me or let me get away, don't pin me to a fucking wall and take my health down bit by agonising bit. I hate how initial incursions with an SG, or worse a long-established SG no one bothered telling their teammates result in slaughter instead of area-denial- especially on the awfulness that is Sudden Death. SG sandwiches make heavies cry.
So every time I try and upload a 32bit targa spray the game crashes. I uploaded some a while back but now I can't, is this because of the new update? Do I use jpeg now or something? Thanks.
Tonights matches were Epic, the best TF2 i have ever played.
9 Axe Kills in a row....
Totally owning as a Pyro....
Having medics queueing up to Uber me

They seriously need to allow the disabling of f10. That shit pisses me off to no end. Its the worst key bind ever.

Taking on a full-health level 3 sentry with nothing but your flamethrower and a bad attitude and coming out on top.
It takes a ton of luck, but afterwards you feel like it's time for handshakes and medals.
I second this motion, but only if this music is played.

My sguns cant discriminate between friend or foe. To them, everything that moves is fair game!
