Honey, can you pass the remote? The television thread is on

In conjuncture with our movie and book thread here is one for our opiate of the masses. The television. TeeVee. Boob tube and so on and so forth. Of course we also have like 5 other threads for individual shows but that is neither here nor somewhere not here.
I know that most of our shows have been stricken down in their prime(time) hour due to the writers strike, but that doesn't stop us from talking about the shows. Additionally some shows are still airing, like reality TV, shows written before the strike, and shows whose writers aren't in the WGA, which I think is like Stargate or something. For example the best show that you probably aren't watching, Psyche, is coming back on Friday and you should watch it. Plus we can always talk about TV shows on DVD.
For the love of good tv, everyone should be watching The Wire. They just started their fifth and last season two weeks back. It has everything regular tv shows don't: smart, sympathetic characters, memorable lines, realistic portrayal of baltimore, doesn't treat its viewers like kids or tards. Hopefully, the media blitz these past few weeks helps get it a bigger audience, who picks up the rest of the past seasons, because everyone needs to be watching this show. No happy endings or cheap laughs in here.
Bonus for those with onDemand, they play episodes a week before they air.

I love you, lost, but the wire looks so fucking boring. They kill Rome but give the wire five seasons. Something's rotten in Denmark.

I love Rome, but the last half of seaosn 2 was so bad compared to what came before. I mean, it was alright, but such a huge let down.
Also, yeah, The Wire has a lotta talky-talk and slow moments, but it just makes the exciting moments so much better. Also, its called character building, so the audience can get to know the players better. Its a show you need to persevere through to get to the goodness.
Once Omar is introduced, it gets much better. I mean, dude is a stick up thief with principles that everyone is scared of, and oh yeah, he's gay. It sounds ridiculous, but man, every scene he is in is gold.
I'm not denigrating your choice of shows, it's just everything I've seen about it screams boring to me...I guess if I have the time and they're doing a marathon or something, I'll check it out.

Even though Season 3 isn't as good as the first two, I'm still enjoying it.
How did they make that into a series that lasts more than one season? I would assume that the first season they would break out and then it ends.
I'm currently watching Farscape DVDs and it is the coolest fucking show. Ben Browder is such a man hunk.
First season they broke out of Fox River.
Second season they were on the run.
Third season:
at the end of the second season, The Company wrangles things so Michael ends up in a prison in Panama called Sona. It's very loosely based off a prison in Brazil called Carandiru. So, he's trying to break himself and this other dude out. The other dude is a guy The Company wants out, which is why they saw to it that Michael ended up in there.

Nah, i know what you mean. It took me a while to get into, I just wanted to watch because it seems like every critic was sucking its dick, and the last show they treated like that was Arrested Development, so hey, why not check it out.
So uhh, yeah, new episode of 30 Rock this thursday. Awesome.
Last week's episode of Stargate Atlantis was easily the best in quite a while. It was pretty rad with a big fucking space battle.
OHHHHH Geek, in case you haven't read up on the last 1/2 of the season, oh there are so many good things coming our way, including:
Teal'c (complete with shoulder-length greased up hair vs. Ronon
McKay, Carter, and Keller stuck in a hole together.
Let's not forget Scrubs coming back starting (probably) on the 24th.
"The last thing a guy wants to see when he's in a splash pool is his best friend's junk headed towards him at forty miles per hour. Felt like I got pistol-whipped."

This is one of the few shows I wish had gone on a little longer. Just a season or two longer, so they could have finished it in a way they wanted, though I do admit TPKW was pretty fucking amazingly done.

He goes from sorta everyman character in the first season to unbelievable badass in the second. That outfit he was wearing in Vitas Mortis was the most awesome fucking thing in the universe.

Yeah, his Pseudo-peacekeeper ensemble was always awesome. Black and red definitely work for Ben.

He also does the best crazy person act. Crackers Don't Matter was brilliant.
Man, Bones and House were two of the biggest reasons I had to watch TV any week. Both very well written, though in completely different ways. Character interaction in both shows was/is great, though.
And I still mourn the loss of Veronica Mars.

30 Rock is the best half hour on television right now.
This man knows what is the what
That show has got to be expensive as fuck though. It's fucking loaded with cameos and big names.
Also Will Arnet was on the show a little while ago and it was pretty awesome. I miss GOB
I guess I should check this out.
Will Arnett has been in two episodes so far and it was glorious
"Oh, God! Just like the ancient Greeks!"
