Call of Duty 4 servers trouble

Hey guys,
I've been having trouble connecting to any of anyones Call of Duty 4 servers.
It just says Awaiting Connection...1... and then just cycles all the way through 11.
Then it says Server connection timed out.

    For the PC, right? That happens to me quite a bit. If you keep retrying, do you eventually get through?

    Yeah it's for PC,
    And no it doesn't just keeps on not letting me in D:

    Open up the console in game (` or ~ or some such key) and type in cl_connectionattempts 30

    What's happening is the authentication servers are taking too long to validate your game. It's a problem of CoD4 just being far more successful on PC than anyone thought it would be.
