    Every once in a while I think I really like video games a lot, and then someone goes and gets pissy about the backstory in Soul Calibur and I black out and come to with blood on my hands.

    On another note: Mass Effect is my favorite game of ever so far. It's one of the few games where my only real complaint is that there isn't more of it.

    Then you have all the problems caused by the various groups seeking eternal life... kingdoms have had their treasuries emptied by rulers going after the latest snake oil elixir of life, spurring conquests and so forth. It's made all the worse by the existence of at least one proven, but impermanent source in the form of a powerful serpent being who charges immensely for it... selfish royalty get a few extra decades to overtax the hell out of their peasantry while they look for a cure for time. Beyond that, there are legends of a group of epic power who, if not given eternal life by a set date, will awaken to destroy all other life, taking it down with them before old age finishes them off... so there's also a valid reason to keep looking...

    Sounds coherent enough. My only issue (outside of my distaste for the body-mod aesthetic) is that it seems like it seems like it paints the enemies or evildoers in a pretty obvious light. I prefer to, in the overarching adventures at least, introduce some severe ambiguity in who exactly the bad guys are.

    The Soul Calibur back story has always been pretty stupid, but then again that's true of pretty much every fighting game. Now, that being said, it did make a turn for the extra-stupid with the inclusion of those dumb bonus characters.

    Okay, I don't care if it makes me a bigot-- it fucking creeps me out to hear my 27 year-old professional housemate whispering "I love you" into his microphone when it is a 16 year-old Australian boy who is "closeted bi" on the other end. The fact he is whipped for this boy -- oh, and the other Australian teenager, and the Canadian one, so he always has someone to fucking flirt with on Vent -- simply pushes my buttons. :x

    I would be extremely happy if the price came down on the Macbooks just a smidgen.

    I mean after expenses and taxes, I'll probably barely have $1,600 from the trust, if that, and I'd like to have a little bit leftover for discretionary spending until I lock down a stipend or paid position from the Obama campaign.
