So I sent my laptop into Toshiba because of a dead hard drive. So of course I got the laptop back with a blank hard drive. I tossed my recovery/Windows disk that came with the laptop. All was well and after a few menus it started a nice hour long count down. So I walked away and came back 10 or so minutes later to see how it was going and noticed a wonderful error. Strange, I didn't pay it any mind and hit ok and the laptop reset but instead of booting from the recovery disk again (as it is set to) I get a message that says "NTLDR is missing press ctrl alt del to restart". It went through the boot up of the disk again and this time brought up a horrible message in big text saying "WRONG MACHINE". So I tried again and now it won't boot from the disk at all and I just keep getting this NTLDR is missing message.

It took me a damn month and a half to get this back and now it doesn't even work, and of course I start classes tomorrow. :|

When it starts up, pop into the BIOS and make sure that CD-ROM is listed before other media in the boot order.

    Oh, and: http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm - I can't remember if I've used it, but I think I have.

Well it most definatly is in the correct boot order.

And I have to run up to school right now but it looks like that website is for machines that did have windows on it, I was in mid installation. I would really like to just wipe the damn partition and start over again but I can't get it to boot from the drive.

Just borrow someone else's Windows disc (make sure it's the right version, of course) and install it using your key. They obviously botched something up that's not allowing your recovery disc to work correctly, and it's Toshiba, so everything on that disc is bullshit except for the drivers and Windows (you can download the drivers later).
