Annoying monitor problem?

This is pretty trivial but if it could be fixed that would be nice.

So I just bought a new Dell 20" widescreen monitor and now if it goes into either sleep mode or the screensaver(regular windows picture slideshow), when I wake it up all my windows are resized really small and I then have to resize/maximize every window. It's not the end of the world but it is a bit of a pain in the ass. Any suggestions?

That's... odd. Are your video card drivers up to date? (Re)installing the latest drivers are the first step, I'd say. If that doesn't fix it, are you using an INF file that matches your monitor? If you right-click a blank space on your desktop, select Properties, Settings tab, Advanced, Monitor tab, it'll most likely say "Plug and Play Monitor". Or maybe it'll have your old monitor in there. You can download the INF file for your monitor from this page. The INF file doesn't do a whole lot, just tells Windows what resolutions, refresh rates and color profiles your monitor supports. However, I'm inclined to think that the tiny window sizes are a side effect of Windows somehow getting confused about the resolution your monitor is displaying, either when putting it to sleep or waking it up, so the correct INF file may help.
