I would if I had decided to continue making a Honchkrow instead of resurrecting my old Veteran. Would've been almost done with the Krow, but I gave up. It just has crappy defenses and low Speed, even with Thunder Wave.
Man.
I dare you to say that to my Honchkrow's face.
She'll mess you up. MESS YOU UP I SAY!
100 HP, 52 on both Defenses, and only 71 in Speed. Considering that my Kangaskahn (with just 5 more HP and 80 in both defenses) almost got OHKOd every time, the Krow is going down hard. At least his death animation in PBR is badass. I think stuff like Infernape and Weavile would still outrun it even after a Thunder Wave and kill it. Besides, did I fight your Honchkrow when we fought last? Cause I recall having half my team alive and kicking at the end of the fight.
Figures that I get a day off due to snow (5-10 inches, whereas it was supposed to be 3 at a max before I went to bed yesterday) yet can't work on my team because of the slow as hell Berries.
Typing + Insomnia means it can switch in on Earthquake/Psychic/Hypnosis.
In regards to its speed, Sucker Punch says hi.
And a Thunder Wave on the switch will leave the opponent crippled. Infernape/Weavile or not - Paralysis isn't fun.
I dunno. I think Honchkrow is pretty good. Maybe it's just me.

Well yeah, I'm sure there are uses for him if you are good at predictions; but if you suck at it (like me) the Krow will most likely die before he gets a chance to do anything.
And without him on my team, I only have one weakness to Electric and no Ice and Rock weakness at all. Always good to not take SE hits from Ice Beam or have 25% of your HP taken out by switching in with Stealth Rock in effect.

On the topic of Honchkrow, what do you usually run with it, as far as moveset?
I had Super Luck + Scope Lens

Mayhaps I'll be trying it out tonight and it will either kick ass or be completely crap.
I'll be up for a battle once I get home from work, which will be in about 4 hours. If you are just trying to test, I could battle a few times with completely different teams or something.

Heh.
I've got a couple other guys you haven't battled yet either, so that sounds like a plan.
We'll see how well this crazyness works.
The fact that I like making odd movesets is both a blessing and a curse, because man... they're fun to use, but sometimes they just SUCK.
Thanks a lot. My last tournament team relied almost all on Speed/Power.. It did all right, but when I got matched up against a Trick Room team, I got destroyed. I used status a bit before coming here.. Just so many different moves I could go with, I usually forget about status.. I did use sleep a lot, but that wasn't enough.
My new team actually doesn't even have a lot of status moves, but it's strong in other departments.. Not saying I left status out though.
That White Herb will work great on my new team, so that's certainly helpful. And BrightPowder.. As nice as it is to have moves like Surf and Psychic miss, I'll take it out and see what else I can find.
Well, where you put EVs depends on what you're going to be using each Pokemon for. Sweepers usually get speed plus their attack or special attack, tanks get hp+whichever defense they'll be using (or a bit of both if defense is high enough). Whiscash, assuming you plan to tank a bit with him (though there's better tanks out there) should get hp/defense/attack, with most of it going into hp. By Lairon I assume you mean eventually Aggron? Lairon isn't the final evolution. He'd be slightly better as a physical attacker.
Hope that helps a little bit.

Damnit, turns out my old Pokemon has Defense EVs, not HP. Could use some Defense Berries.
I should EV train an Aggron. Those things can be brutal if used right (as in "with Gengar").
Though it would probably be yet another pokemon that I wont use enough.
I have a strange question that I can't seem to find answers for. Since I never really got "into" pokemon prior to diamond (I had red back in the day but played it only occasionally), and I am slowly going through the sites in the OP when I get the chance I figured I'd ask if someone could help speed up my search:
Does evolving a pokemon actually give it some kind of perk over a non-evolved one? Now I am ignoring ones that gain new types through evolution or access to new moves, but does say Sandslash gain HP or strength faster than Sandshrew? Does Alakazam end up with a higher special attack at level 100 than a level 100 kadabra would?
I don't play RPG's or really many turn-based games (Ogre Battle really being the only one off the top of my head that I really enjoyed...and that is obviously pretty different). It is more curiosity than anything else since I'd have to catch myself when something is evolving (or the everstone or whatever it's called).
Pokémon at a higher evolution level, as a rule, have better base statistics. When a Pokémon levels up, the new stats are calculated based on level, base stats, IVs (which you can't change) and EVs (which you can). If you level a Kadabra up to 100, and an Alakazam, the Alakazam will have better stats. However, if the IVs and EVs are identical, you could level a Kadabra up to 100, evolve it into an Alakazam through a trade, and it will have the same final stats as the Pokémon that was evolved into an Alakazam earlier.
Short form: The only reason -not- to evolve a Pokémon is if you're holding out on a specific move that is only learned by the lower-tier version - Giga Drain and Energy Ball for Treecko, for example, or Spore on a Shroomish. You don't lose any stats by evolving things later, but you may gain moves that you couldn't get before.
To specifically answer your question on stat growth, yes, a Sandslash will gain most stats faster than a Sandshrew.

Got neither, but I do have three or four Rare Candies if you want them.
I could also use another Attack and Speed berry in addition to those two Defense ones.
Well, there are some Pokemon that can be used for different effects at their 'unevolved' or 'not quite fully evolved' forms. Porygon-Z, for example, is a great special attacker. Porygon2, on the other hand, can be a very capable physical tank (Gyarados hate those things. Throws intimidate right back at it with Trace and then can T-bolt). So there are exceptions to the rule.
Also, the base stats will be recalculated whenever the Pokemon evolves, not just the one time it can first evolve. So there's no downside to holding back on evolving for a move. Besides having to hit the buttons to halt it.
I'll give you whatever berry you want if you'd just plant some and water every few hours.

I have been, it's just that I had so very few of them. Before Kay gave me some yesterday, I only had 1 Defense and 2 SpDefense ones. Don't remember where they all went or why I used them all up.
You should get some mulch from that girl in the Berry Master's house, then plant some berries there and by the day care. Make it a habit to always have something growing there, then you won't run low on berries. This is why I've got so many of the 'increases friendship' and Pamtre berries. Think only berry I've only got one of is Salac, because I'm afraid to plant it and risk needing it right then.

Bigger question though is why on earth do I have to pay my hard earned Pokebucks for some 'Pokemon.. well, you know' when I have about three hundred Pokemon that likely generate a ton of that stuff every day?

Alright, since there's a mulch that doubles the growth rate, I guess I won't be lazy and grow some more on my own.
I was considering for whiscash and lairon to be special defense/?
Before you begin EV training make sure you get some Pokerus and a Macho Brace from someone here (me, or others)
Without those 2 things EV training can be very very tedious. Never difficult or something to be frightened of, just dull.
Post your teams info if you'd like some suggestions. They may not be casual suggestions, but if you follow our advice it'll only be easier to beat your friends.
Good lord Emerl, you've been growing berries without any type of mulch? Talk about tedious.
Can anyone recommend a good build for a Milotic? I'm kind of new to EV training and messed up an earlier one (252 Special Defense, 128 Special Attack, 128 Defense; I'm sure that'll make someone lol), but I should be able to make another one pretty easily. Thanks to a friend I have some very high level dry poffins and should be able to make one any nature I want (my first one was calm nature). Specifically, I'm looking to make something I can use in the Battle Tower. I was reading a guide that suggested recover, water pulse (for confusion), dragon breath, and hidden power (Ground), with a flame orb to activate marvel scale and prevent other status problems, but I'm sure you guys can recommend a better build.
Milotic is awesome.
I like Calm, 252 HP, 252 Sp.Def, 6 Def. Leftovers or Lum Berry (or Wide Lens).
Surf, Ice Beam, Recover, Hypnosis (or confuse ray if you already have a sleeper)
You can't hurt water types, but it's mainly a tank anyway, and you can still status them, recover up, and switch out.
Despite Marvel Scale, Milotic really should carry something else than Toxic or Flame Orb. If you must abuse Marvel Scale, have Rest. Milotic could use a rest-sleep talk set quite easily. Basically similar to the above (perhaps a bit less Sp.Def for Sp.Atk, since you'll have plenty of health while resting). Milotic gets walled by other water types with that set, but most of them can't hurt it too much anyway.
Thanks for the quick response! I don't suppose you know of a good team it would go with for the Battle Tower? I was thinking an Electivire and a Metagross but I'm not sure if that would cover everything.
Also, quick question on EV training. On my old Milotic I leveled the Feebas so that it would evolve and in the process it gained 3 Special Defense. Then I used 10 Zinc on it. Would that Milotic have 100 or 103 Special Defense on it?

EDIT: Also, I've been training some more guys. Woo! I'm working on number 2 now. I hope you guys hate him.
Really no reason why Honchkrow, Magmortar, and Electivire lost speed upon evolution.
Also, it's probably better not to bother with Roost on Honchkrow.
My experience has showed me that it really can't take a hit.
