Well, you could always put some EVs into Speed and hope that the Timid nature helps out with the decrease in Speed upon evolving. Other than SpAttack and Speed, I could only see you putting EVs into HP, but Electabuzz/vire isn't the sturdiest of Pokemon in any case.
What else were you thinking of giving it? I'd assume Focus Blast and maybe Psychic, since he and Magmortar can't learn much else.
And my berries seem to be defying the Growth Mulch. They've just entered the third stage (between sprout and blooming), so it looks like they'll be ready by 5 AM tomorrow, approx.
The miss was annoying, but I think the outcome would have been the same.
Great Fight Ashton. Sending out Muk when I did was so very dumb. I just didn't know for certain what The Rat would do, and I didn't want to risk Flygon at that point. Another thing, I said to myself "Just be dumb, leave Venomoth out." But no, I had to do the "Smart" thing and swtich.
Your Starter is frightening. I'm glad I had a x4 Fighting Resistance on my side.

I don't suppose I could mooch a Stone Edge off of someone? I have an idea on how to improve the newest member of my party. I have a few Rare Candies I can offer, at least three of them.

It's speed is pretty good no matter what form it's in and as you said Electa/ isn't very sturdy so it would have to be 252 Speed/Sp.Atk no matter what. So I guess the question is whether gaining Motor Drive and Flamethrower is worth losing about 22 Speed points at lvl 100. I think the answer is probably yes.
For it's moveset I was thinking about Thunder Wave if I couldn't come up with a 4th attack. I guess the moveset would have to be Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Focus Blast although I hate that accuracy.
I'm also tempted to try a Mixed Attacker with maybe Choice Specs or Life Orb just so I can keep Ice Punch.
Gah, to many ideas I need to just decide on something already.
Psypokes says it takes 32 hours for those EV reducing berries to grow. So maybe 16 hours with the right soil? It's been a while since I've grown some of my own, but I seem to remember it taking 24 hours to bloom. I know that they need to be watered every 3-4 hours for best results. After about 4 hours the soil goes dry and you wind up with fewer berries. I usually miss one watering (cause I need to sleep at some point) and still wind up with a dozen berries per tree.
I'll give your Heracross some Pokérus, Disco. I could call it 'AIDS Bug' if you like.
You've got like, ten minutes before I wander off into the living room to play DMC4. C'mon, get on WiFi and take this bug I've had in my box for you for a month!
I've never trained a Heracross, but that looks cool. Stone Edge to cover Fliers that might swoop in for the kill, Megahorn and CC for STAB, and either AA or EQ are good fillers.
Night slash or pursuit could also work in the fourth slot. Pursuit especially as quite a few people will switch out to a counter when Heracross comes out. If you aren't going to give him a choice item, swords dance is an option as well.

You could also use Protect and the Flame Orb to scan for Super Effective hits and the boost from Guts (Burn doesn't decrease your Attack when you have Guts) would activate at the end of that turn. Pursuit would be sweet on that setup, since most opponents who can't handle a Guts-empowered Heracross would try to flee.
On the set you listed, I'd opt for Aerial Ace over Earthquake, since Fighting covers most of the types that Ground does.
Yeah, Im thinking Aerial Ace/Night Slash/Pursuit.... well, I've got time to think before making a choice.
Edit: If I use the Exp. Share to get EV's for a poke, does that poke still take advantage of the pokerus? Or does he actually have to appear in battle?
Having some trouble with Sceptile, my erstwhile companion seems to claim that physical sweeper is the way to go, while I feel a special sweeper utilizes it's stats better (whereas a physical sweeer would basically ignore one of Sceptile's better stats)
Right I'm thinking:
Leaf Storm
Dragon Pulse
Focus Blast
Grass Knot
with a Choice Specs, but it's horribly boring, and Focus Blast is inaccurate without a Wide Lens support. Thoughts?

Sceptile got seriously nerfed in DP, since it lost not only Leaf Blade but Thunderpunch as well. Leaf Storm is not used much since it vastly decreases your Special Attack. It would only be used in cases where you wouldn't be using any other Special Attacks or have the White Herb.
Physical is pretty much the only way to go now if you want to just attack, since Sceptile's physical movepool is just so much larger and he can even learn Swords Dance. You could give it the Focus Sash, since its defenses are pretty crappy. Swords Dance the first turn, live through their attack, and use that really high Speed to retaliate.
mkay, thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them out

Ok, time for a new thread. Anyone want something specific on it? I'll add a list of stuff you shouldn't try because it will either screw you or not work at all.
Also, contribute to the list of stuff you shouldn't try!

I dunno, we always have the bases covered in the OP; links to EV training and all that jazz. Not much of anything new to add in aside from the info pertaining to the tourney.
Stuff that you shouldn't try:
1) Mixing Special and Physical attacks on a single Pokemon, except in some cases like Infernape.
2) Not using Legendaries and Wobbufett in battles unless both sides consent to it.
3) The usual Clauses: Sleep, Freeze (even though there's no control over it), Self-Destruct, Item, etc.

Brick Break
Swords Dance
Sunny Day
Whatever that fire move is at level 66
I believe I've permanently ruined my pokes for anything remotely competitive with you people. I've not bothered with natures-I eyeballed their stats at level 1 and assumed what benefits they had. Since I've been leveling them up with an xp share, their EVs could potentially be wonky.
I am, however, pleased with my hp up'd snorlax, with its 154 hp at level 32

It's still got Leaf Blade, and Leaf Blade got a buff to the base power! Rock Slide, Earthquake, Swords Dance, a Physical Sceptile's pretty special. Oh yeah and CRUNCH!

If you're going to go for competitive battling, you'd be best off breeding for the right nature and egg moves, and EV training a fresh team once you've beaten the Elite Four, and unlocked the rest of the game. Get yourself a Macho Brace to start with (show some guy one of each Burmy type), get Pokérus from one of us, then hit up the Battle Tower for the EV Power items once you've trained something up to destroy it. If you need a Pokémon that can solo the first 7 battles in the Battle Tower and the Tower Tycoon's first team, pretty much, just ask me. I could throw in Pokérus while I was at it.
Hate to say it, but the Pokemon league challenge stuff is starting to fall out of date. It may be time to have a redo or something as far as that stuff goes.
I shall repeat my demand for Drifloon trivia!
Finally, do we have a link to the general Pokemart thread in the OP? I didn't see one, though I thought one was there. We could use that.

Well yeah, I know he kept those two attacks, but I was implying that he lost them on the Special side. They now run on his inferior Attack. He also lost Dragon Claw, but Pulse fits in.

I've had the game since April of its launch.
I've unfortunately had horrible luck with honey trees ( I usually receive wurmples and such).
The pokes I'm employing for my current team are mediocre, with the exception of charmeleon, which I excessively trained for attack and speed.
Well, ask around for a Burmy I guess. And some infected Pokémon.
I used to really hate EV training, but it's so fast and a total non-issue with the Power Items. It's breeding for the right nature/ability/IVs that's killing my soul. Also, new thread soon! Woo!
I'll probably give my last Macho Brace to Disco Bandit, but i'm going to transfer a bunch more over after that. So you can just ask me for Pokerus+MachoBrace. In a little while.
But if you've never been in a real battle before Disco, I would recommend you just ignore IVs for now. They can be important sometimes, but with an Adamant nature and a lot of EVs that Heracross will still have a great attack stat no matter what the IV. Speed on the hand, well you may want to consider a Choice Scarf.
Ever spent about 2-3 weeks building a team with a concept that looks great on paper and in your head, but just... doesn't work at all once you've put it together?
Yeah, that's where I am right now. I couldn't even win battles on PBR, and I normally utterly dominate on there.

For the most part, I'm not. However, for this, it seems silly to EV train a poke for Attack and Speed when his possible IV's for those two stats are both less than 6.
At level 100, the difference between a Pokémon with 31 in the relevant IV, and 0 is 31 points. The difference between a Pokémon with maxed EVs in a stat and with none is 63. I suggest that you find something that can breed with Heracross that has some TMs or Egg Moves that you want on Heracross, breed 6-12 or so, then check IVs and pick the best ones.

Edit: Also, I'm completely new to battling of any kind. I plan on training my first poke, a Heracross. Male, Jolly, with Guts.
I was thinking 252 Atack, 252 Speed, and 6 HP? How do you guys keep track of how many EV's a poke has? Just write down every battle?
Also, movesets? I know it's difficult without knowing the full team, but:
Stone Edge
Close Combat
Megahorn
Aerial Ace or Earthquake
Something like that?

But I think the General Battling rules should be at the very top of the post. and
- Pokémon battles through Wi-fi automatically level your Pokémon to either levels 50 or 100. So you don't have to train them to level 100 yourself, saving a lot of time.
that should be up there with the General Battling Rules.
And Mushroom Pie isn't the Fire gym leader, so maybe replace his info with a Help Wanted add. Apply inside to be the next Gym Leader! It doesn't have to be dumb like that though.
