I am about to order contacts online and I have no idea what I am doing. I am trying to fill out the perscription but the one the optometrist gave me isn't the same as the options for the site. My base curve is 8.6 but the site will only let me chose 8.4 or 8.8. The power for the left eye is -2.00 -0.75x180 wtf does that mean? I only get an option for -2.00. Diameter is suppose to be 14.5 but I only get an option for 14.

The sizes available depend on the lenses. Are you trying to get the same brand your doctor prescribed?
Also, if you have access to a Wal-Mart nearby you can give the prescription to them and get some lenses on the cheap, and it'll actually be looked at a real person. (And since you're only -2.00 (lucky) you may even get them that day.)
I can't goto wal mart, no car and I work nights. I am not trying to get the same brand, they prescribed a toric which corrects for stigmitism but according to the optometrist I really didn't need it and they let me try both but only gave me the prescription for the toric which I assume should be the same as a normal one right?
From what I understand, you should really go with what they write the prescription for. If you want the others you should get a prescription for those. Different lenses will fit you differently.
what site are you ordering on? Check around at a few other sites. When we ordered contacts for my wife a few months ago I noticed that different sites sometimes had different options for what you could order, probably just based on what they stock.
I checked around a few other sites, lens.com 1800contacts and walmart and they were all pretty much the same.
My right eye is a normal contact, I can enter that fine into the sight, but my left eye is a toric which correct for stigmitism which has 2 extra numbers for it in the power, if I take those off I think it should be fine to order the normal contact with this prescription.
You should NOT be ordering contacts that have not been prescribed for you. Period. You risk damaging your eyes. You are putting them inside of your eyes, they're not like glasses. They have the side effect of blocking oxygen, from perfusing your cornea. This is bad.
It is important that your eyes are measured for the contacts that you are buying, the curvature of the eye is individual and changes, person to person. The person that fits these contacts should have you come in for another appointment in a month, or two after prescribing the contacts to look at your cornea, to make sure the contacts haven't damaged your eyes.
Your eyes really aren't something to be messed with.
Exactly... don't mess with it. Get the contacts that you've actually been prescribed. Depending on where you got the prescription they might do price matching. I know Lenscrafters price matches on contacts (even online prices) and other places may as well. So go to a physical store and ask about that prescription specifically.

You want to be checked up regularly and get the right ones for you.
