I've been spending the last few days maniacally laughing as I frankenstein in a new strum method on to my Strat. I've also rewired the buttons so the real buttons count as the solo ones and vice versa.

Has anyone else gone to town modding their stock controllers?

You switched the buttons? That seems kind of unnecessary. Why did you do it?

I don't think I'm still getting it. Are you saying you switched it so that when you play (presumably with your fretting hand near the head) you can more easily do non-strumming solos?

Man, the expert drum career is serious business. I managed to scrape by Detroit Rock City and Dead on Arrival tonight (the latter after lots and lots of practice), which finally let me move on to the second-to-last tier. Beating this is going to take forever.

Dead on Arrival is amazingly difficult. I think it should be 2nd-to-last if not last tier itself.

The last tier is pretty ridiculous in terms of difficulty difference as well. Its like you have Tom Sawyer and Flirtin' With Disaster, then you have Next To You and Wont Get Fooled Again, then you have Run To The Hills, then you have Blackened.

Anyway, why isn't Siva last tier? Playing it makes me feel like i've completely forgotten how to play the drums.

    Fix'd.

Okay guys, I like what I've heard of Queen. I've heard all the basic stuff. Fat Bottom Girls, Killer Queen, Another One Bites the Dust, Bohemian Rhapsody, etc. All I ever see of Queen are greatest hits albums though, which I tend to try and avoid when first listening to a band. So what studio albums are recommended for Queen?

Yeah, Queen's Greatest hits has just about everything except maybe stuff from "A kind of magic" which was essentially the Highlander soundtrack. And it's essentially the best of the best. You want other good Queen songs? Buy the albums. ALL of them.

Finished all the venues. Ended with 2980 stars or something like that. We could probably add a few hundred more if we go back and 5 star everything.

My guess is that with everything 5starred including Endless Setlist, it's around 3500+. Although, I could just simply go down the list and add the total denominator from each venue to be sure.

But I'm lazy and gonna crash for the night.

EDIT: Also, downloaded We Care A Lot and Gimme Three Steps.

    Hm

EA completely messed up my RMA so I now how 3 strats. One of which is the ps3 version. I don't need two of the strats since I already have a Les Paul.

Does gamestop accept trade in for these and does anyone know how much credit I'll get? I know I can probably get more on eBay but I just want to get rid of them quick.

Smudge, what about the bottom cross bars on your drum pad stand... did you have to remove them?

Didn't have to remove anything from the pedal, not sure what you meant by bottom crossbar... do you have a picture of it? Don't think my pedal has that, but not sure exactly what you mean...

If you look at this shot:

    http://www.1stdigitalinfantry.com/chenzo/rockband/new_pedal_03.jpg

you can see where teh bass pad is, I'm missing those 2 crossbars that go between the 'feet' of the stand for the pads... It's a little unstable, but still playable. I'd like to somehow attach it all together. Did they ever come out with that 'fake' bass drum thing they were gonna do for the RB drum kit?

Ah, I see. My setup only goes about 2.5 inches past the edge of the pedal so I just leavel those crossbars in and slide the pedal up against them. Hasn't been a problem yet.

With the whole kickpedal+pad being one part I could set it up on an angle overlapping those bars as well, but have not tried that yet.

It's weird that I CANNOT play the original pedal without shoes, but this pedal I like to play a lot better with socks. Odd.

Yeah, a huge turnoff for me with GH3 is the whole boss battles/powerups things. That's not what I'm here to do, and just looks like an extra way to complicate the game, when it's really not warranted.

A huge turn off to me about GH3 was how they complicated everything.

Just play the Killers song they have on there in GH3 and Rock Band on expert, and it's pretty clear which one did a better job of making that song not as hard as can possibly be made when that song is really easy to play on normal guitar.

I was just thinking that since I'm primarily a bass player, but since I normally play guitar in rock band, can any of you guys recommend a tour de force song for bass in rock band? Glancing through the play list, I didn't notice any of the songs that had super remarkable bass lines except for the master work of Entwistle. Much love.

I feel really weird playing drums without shoes on. But I have to take them off for the RB drums, because there's so little physical feedback from the kick pedal that it's hard to feel when I'm playing the notes correctly.

So I guess it's backwards for me? Weird.

Most interesting bass parts, I feel:

    GG&HT
    Dani California
    Run To The Hills
    Train Kept A Rollin'
    Detroit Rock City
Are You Gonna Be My Girl

And for downloaded stuff, some fun bass parts:

    Move Along
    Gimme Three Steps
    Limelight
    Police Pack
    Metallica Pack

I've been wanting Queen since Rock Band was announce and even before that when I first played GH2. Yes, I am aware that Killer Queen was on GH2 but, let's face it, it wasn't a guitar song and it was a very odd cover.
I don't care what the pack has, really. I'd love Tie Your Mother Down but anything that could be worked into Rock Band I'd be happy with.
