Requested RMAs for both the pedal and the drums. It took...less than 10 minutes. It seemed,,,too easy...
But they say they'll send me the packages for both of them. The trouble shooting seemed vague at best. It asks me what the problem is with my pedal, and asks "does the pedal spring back up?" Uhh...well I guess it still does, but it's kinda snapped in half.
I might have to include a note or something. The problem with the red drum seems almost non-existent, but it makes it impossible to play drum-roll sections.
You could RMA your drums as many times as you want and you aren't going to get one that handles rolls on red effectively. Theres several home-methods of fixing this, and all you need is either a penny or some tape and it will roll perfectly.
Just bought some new drumsticks and also picked up a new guitar strap because the original one wouldn't stay on the guitar.
I like these black coated ones. I got some 4B Ludwigs. Can't really tell the difference other than it feels easier to control after I hit a pad with them.
For those interested, apparently there's going to be a Valentine's Day Rock Band tourney in LA, NYC, and Orlando. I'm not sure if I'll be going to it, as I have bad memories of the mess that was Funde Razor here in Brooklyn, but still.
Re: The RMA's 2 month warranty:
Seeing as how the support website never asks for proof of purchase (ie receipt) there's no way for them to know when you bought it, or even if you own the game, thats why they hold your CC hostage.
I sent off for my coffin, I don't suppose EA is still giving out free games, are they?
No. They were giving those only to people who had waited a long time (weeks) for their RMA guitars (and only guitars) to process soon after the game came out.
So I finally uploaded a picture of my The Who t-shirt
Did you make that with the in game tools? It's pretty sweet. Makes me wish you could sell / trade / gift shifts to people like cars in Forza 2 with it's custom paint jobs. I tried to make a tattoo, but realized I'd need to get the controller out to do it. I decided I was too lazy and just rocked out on the drums.

This is completely untrue, my pads work perfectly. If your pads miss hits send them back instead of fighting with pennies and socks and tensor bandages and whatever else people try. They do make pads that work properly, though they may be few and far between.
Sorry if this has already been asked in the thread, but I haven't kept up and search is disabled.
Has anyone gotten their free game? And, if so, how did it ship?
I ask because I have moved since my guitar RMA. If it ships via USPS it'll be forwarded to my new address but if they ship it UPS like they do the guitars then it will show up at my old place. If they do ship UPS, do they at least tell you when it ships so I can call UPS and get them to hold it?

*shrug* I guess I'd rather spend 2 minutes with some tape than weeks rolling the dice against very unlikely odds.
So, for when I don't have friends nearby, how far can I get in BWT by doing mic/guitar by myself on easy or medium? Can I get all the way through hall of fame? I figure I can use the headset as a mic while holding the guitar.

You can do the whole thing by yourself, although you'll reach the fan cap eventually if you keep playing one on a lower difficulty. Also, playing some of the hard songs can be difficult doing both. I could never do Train Kept a Rollin' on guitar and keep the vocals from failing.
I would recommend finding a way to use the USB microphone, because I didn't have much luck singing with the headset. I think the microphone picks up things a lot better. For that, you can either go find a mic stand at a music shop, or find a lamp or something with a head sticking out far enough to where you can duct tape the mic to it and make a ghetto mic stand.

Tie your mic to your neck. Or wear a turtle neck. That's the ghetto way of doing it.
The wireless headset sucks for vocals. The wired one isn't that bad. It isn't as sensitive as the USB mic so I have to increase the sensitivity a bit for the headset to work.
Is it just me or is Reptilia really difficult to sing? I'm working my way through and I've achieved mostly 5 stars but this song just destroys me. I fail before I even reach the chorus.
Really? I have no problem with Reptilia, that's one of my favorites... Songs that kill me are (for some reason) Should I Stay or Should I Go and Detroit Rock City. Something about those... the game just does not like my voice on them.

The low pitch parts are pains in the ass to nail when you first start, but it gets kind of easier later into the song.

Anything with low pitch sections I can completely rock. I consider this a consolation prize for having a voice that has to go into falsetto halfway through the range of nearly every rock song ever written.
It's probably been discussed a million times, but I only recently got the game, so I'll ask again. What's up with multiplayer? Every game I play they quit if they're losing. I've yet to finish a game and they dont show up in the list of people I've met so I can avoid them or leave negative feedback. Does Rock Band bypass Xbox Live or something?
I'm only starting on medium as i get used to the different strum, but is it the same on higher difficulties (people dropping every time theyre losing)?
So today I bought Gimme three steps, 3's and 7's, Jukebox Hero, and Working Man. Hopefully I still have enough for ME DLC and Message in a Bottle/Simple Man in March.

I got my free game about two weeks ago. They ship it via UPS. You also don't get any notice that they've shipped it.
My best advice is go to your old address and ask them if they've received any packages in your name. There is the off chance that the people there aren't total scum.

How awesome is Jukebox Hero by the way?
So awesome.
3's and 7's is absolutely one of my favorite songs to play on guitar. It never gets old.

I just noticed this the other night while trying to play -- the first handful of players all showed up on my recently played list (I negative-repped every single dropper, and I even positive-repped one guy whom I randomly met up with twice and didn't drop either time even though it was clear I was winning), but after a while people wouldn't show up. I'm not sure how it's calculated.
And yeah, dickholes will always drop when they're losing, regardless of difficulty. I managed to get the Tug of War "win five in a row" achievement fairly easily when the game first came out, but now I'm unsure if I'll have the patience to try and get the Score Duel one.

Hrm. I moved out on the 31st, fwiw. It was an apartment complex, so the package may be held at the office.

That sucks! I suggest parties with alcohol and willing band members. Most fun I've had in a long long time.

However, once you're past like 30% of the song, it's pretty easy.

My sister tried to do the Tug Of War one but she gets stuck with 40+ True Skill people and end up playing some stupidly hard song.

Still, that'd require going back over there.

According to a guy in SE++ who saw them in concert, apparently some Bang Camaro DLC is on the way.
Though something I haven't heard would be awesome as well.
