Dell XPS M1530 VS Asus C90 and others?

I'm wanting to purchase a laptop in the 2000ish range. I'll need it for uni (lightish), gaming, and hooking it up to my LCD via HDMI.

I am stuck between the XPS M1530 and the ASUS C90. The XPS seems great as it is relatively light, better performance than the ASUS c90?, quieter, and doesn't heat up as much. Is there any reason I shouldn't get it? Seems too good to be true.

Also, what is the difference between the battery sizes? 6 and 9 cell? Also, is it worth spending the extra 130 dollars and getting the 1680X1050 screen?

here's what I am looking at.
