Ok so I bought a PS3 from a very good friend of mine, it's a 60GB that was just sitting on his shelf collecting dust 'cause he never touched it. So I bought it for $300 CND ($100 less than the 40GB and $200 less than the 80GB). But I'm wondering, does the PS3 have many problems like the Red Rings or something? Because I'm pretty sure it's past its 1-year warranty .
So what should I do, my friend is ok in giving me a refund if it's not in warranty and I'm not comfortable (he offered). But so far I've only heard that the PS3, while lacking games, is a very sturdy machine.
Yeah, I used to work at EB Games. I can't say I've ever heard or seen any ps3s come back due to hardware failure. The guys at the Sony store across the hall basically had the same experience. Other than some over heating issues (due to people being stupid and putting it in an enclosed area) it's fine.
*ahem* Unlike the XBOX360 >_>; glad Microsoft bumped their warranties to three years.
